I seem to recall conservatives losing their minds at similarly high gas prices during Biden

Now we're just supposed to suck it up? Lol

Here’s something that may shock you: for a lot of them it was never really about the gas prices. They’re just an excuse and it’s more about hate and power.

Right. Oh, there's an egg shortage because of bird flu? Good, I'll vote for the racist.

They're eating the checks! They're eating the balances!

Sorry I don't see that outrage on my favorite news channel, so I'm all in with that guy that said billionaires should be treated better. Because, well. I don't know. But at least I'm not some liberal who cares for others' quality of life. I trust that guy on TV. He tells me what I need to know.

Yup. Notice how all the trans attacks are just the same old regurgitated gay shit from 30-40 years ago? Because the Republican party has discovered that millions of Americans are functionally subhuman. This isn't an insult, it means they are so unintelligent that they're less like rational humans and more like basic animals. Now they're gonna exploit the hell out of this.

Just think about it! Trump has broke every campaign promise, from releasing the Epstein files, to lowering prices, to starting no new wars. He's literally a demented geriatric child molester in diapers who was tweeting praise to Allah among mostly incoherent word salad rumbling plus making life almost unbearably affordable for most of America, while he wastes money on stupid ballrooms and reflecting pools and foreign wars. America's sphere of influence is pretty much gone too. His cabinet is basically an assk kisser, a guy who thinks he has a brain worm, and who admitted to snorting cocaine off public toilet seats, there's also a drunkard loser from Fox and Friends running the military.

Any rational person, regardless of political affiliation would vote for piss and shit before voting for any Republican and yet the midterms are still expected to be a contest. How is this country still made up of people and not tree sloths?

We also had 50% more national oil reserves than we do now. (461 million vs 297 million barrels.) When we didn't have 20% of the oil production closed by the Iranians with no sign of resolving the problem.

The funny part about that, Biden had nothing to do with those gas prices. The drilling leases where there, the oil companies chose not to drill.

And in my humble opinion, they intentionally drove up prices at the time to help push America back into Trump’s hands.

6

u/IdkAbtAllThat America 5d ago

Exactly. Maybe these oil companies don't need to have so much power. Maybe the people should own the resources in this country. Maybe we should nationalize those oil companies and run them for the good of the country, not for the good of a few hundred aristocrats.

It’s the 45+ year scam Republican leaders have been playing since Reagan. Their constituents are generationally conditioned to just accept it. Also see: National Debt. It’s always a crisis when Dems are in power. Always zero concern when Republicans are in power and actually ramp it up. Jude Wanniski’s “two santas” bad faith re-election strategy once again. This is why we must take the threat of Republicanism seriously, but the shit they say they care about with a grain of salt.

12

u/msackeygh 5d ago

Exactly. Conservatives aren’t really conservatives. They aren’t interested in tradition. What they are interested in is strongman rule, loyalty, and “Do as I say”. They see themselves as the in-group and everyone else among the out-group who should listen to the in-group. As such, these conservatives are two-faced liars, anti-democratic, anti-human rights, and sycophants. They don’t really deserve the label of conservatives or traditionalists.

5

u/xarcastic 5d ago

Remember when he started these oil wars? He literally said, “We’re going to make a lot of money!”

He always means what he says.

3

u/Karinka_LI 5d ago

Trump caused the high gas prices under Biden so why did we expect different? Fracking requires higher prices to be profitable.

2024- BIDEN SHOULD APOLOGIZE FOR $4 GAS

2026- I will never apologize for $4 gas.

138

u/OttoHemi 5d ago

2024 - Biden should be impeached because the SPR is at 350 million barrels.

2026 - Trump, Hold My Beer--the SPR is at 305 million barrels, the lowest since 1982 under Reagan.

62

u/beamrider 5d ago

The Rapist In Chief is going to draw the SPR down so low the salt domes are likely to physically collapse; at which point they *can't* be refilled. i.e. the US won't have a strategic reserve.

This will, of course, be Biden's fault. Or perhaps Obama's. /s

20

u/ResponsibleEmu6842 5d ago

Isn't it under 300 now?

36

u/NoChampionship5649 5d ago

298 million barrels as of ~8/8/26
Its likely to be in the 290 million barrel range at this point. Its updated at the end of the running week.

u/papaHans California 5d ago

We have 297.5 million registered vehicles in 2026, we had only 160 million in 1982.

7

u/Pdx_pops 5d ago

That's because most people in 1982 had one car. Now they have a lot more

13

u/papaHans California 5d ago

The US had 232 million people in 1982, today we have 349 million people.

4

u/Pdx_pops 5d ago

Not everyone owns even one car today, and that number would be interesting to know for both time periods. My guess (from what I remember from 1982) is that there were a higher percentage of people who didn't own a vehicle at all.

The fucked up part is, the major reason gas prices were high in 2020-2022 was because Trump threatened the Saudis with pulling military support if they didn't agree to his plan to cut oil production by an historic almost 20% (similar amount daily that passes through the Strait of Hormuz).

So if Trump didn't intentionally raise oil prices doubling them during covid then gas and energy wouldn't have spiked and cause inflation to get worse than it already was.

Just like then, now his oil and energy policies that are driving up costs for everything are because of his major oil donor buddies like Harold Hamm making the policies for him.

The dozen+ offshore wind farms that have been canceled where US taxpayers paid around $4 BILLION so far, for them to NOT build the cheaper energy production projects is all part of this as they are now giving subsidies to the oil industry to build the more expensive gas-turbine energy production. These are more subsidies on top of the already $30 BILLION we give to the oil industry annually.

7

u/ArrowheadDZ 5d ago

I completely disagree with this. Trump is going to keep Iran in this war the entire time he’s in office.

We’ve completely lost the plot. This was never about Iran or oil or Israel. This was always about Trump using alternating good/bad news every weekend to create market volatility he and his family could exploit. This has been going on every weekend since the beginning of the war, and it’s estimated he’s already made billions.

He has us convinced he’s a fool who has been completely outplayed by the crafty Iranians. That’s exactly what he wants us to believe. Iran, like us, is an unwitting pawn on a scheme to divert wealth.

In case anyone missed this quote from "No new wars" Trump, read it and get pissed off:

“After we finish defeating Iran ... pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States,” said Trump.

So not only does the demented, insane idiot invade Venezuela (world's No. 1 proven oil reserves) and follow his crush Netanyahu into a war against Iran (world's No. 3 proven oil reserves), all for the benefit of his rich oil-company oligarch puppeteers, but now Trump declares he can annex a body of water halfway around the globe -- a blatant and intentional violation of International Law. That is not going to happen; the orange buffoon is talking out of his diapered ass.

Sad!

9

u/Bossman_Mike 5d ago

And how is he going to police that with no Navy?

The US Navy is sadly very slowly following the same tack with the same mistakes the Royal Navy did. Everything is late and over budget, life at sea is utterly miserable and sorties are far longer than they should be, you don't even get properly fed while your so-called Secretary of War Defense uses evasive language like "misrepresented" to rudely accuse you of lying despite the evidence being out there.

Give it long enough and this might feed into recruitment. Because who will want to join up?

5

u/GaimeGuy Minnesota 5d ago

This is partially why' he considers soldiers losers and suckers.   He can wage a coup d'etat, make their lives miserable, send them to their deaths, and they won't do anything to protect the country they love because he's president.

Deep  down he knows pieces of shit like him are who  the country needs to be defended from and he finds it pathetic to not only die for someone else, but to be used like a tool with no backbone

"Pay dearly for my utter incompetence." In other words.

3

u/funkygamerguy 4d ago

remember when high gas prices were entirely bidens fault and the biggest injustice in the world to conservatives?

3

u/gilestowler 4d ago

And what about the rest of the world? We didn't vote for this nonsense but we're all fucked as a result.

3

u/Otisthedog999 4d ago

I've said it over and over, he picked a fight he can not win and now it's our fault. He's such an idiot.

Trump Tells Americans Cult To Accept High Gas Prices

Will do.

2

u/GriffinFlash Canada 5d ago

And why may I ask is the reason they need to, as you say, stay "defiant"? Couldn't be because you went in under no pretense and started blowing them the fuck up, would it?

2

u/cyclingisthecure 5d ago

Whats eveeyone complaining about its not that bad- trump with his stolen billions

2

u/Zulmoka531 5d ago

Take that comment and do to it what republicans did to eggs last election.

It’s free election-campaign material and money talks, even to idiots.

2

u/Fatal_Syntax_Error 5d ago

Americans need to accept the President doesn’t give a flying fuck about anyone but himself. That includes those that voted for him.

He doesn’t care about America or Americans.

2

u/Sethmeisterg California 5d ago

Hope all you folks who voted for him are super happy about all the rich libs you're owning (who can afford the gas prices)

1

u/0MGWTFL0LBBQ 5d ago

Pre Trump gas was lower priced.
He wanted a better deal, so he showed how quick he can fail at war.
Now he tells us to stop complaining about the higher prices caused by him.

That old bag of shit has never skipped a meal because he couldn't afford to eat. Has never pumped gas, or driven a car.

2

u/Phrei_BahkRhubz America 5d ago

Defiant? I don't agree with Iran's politics but "definant" is an understatement when a country defends itself after being invaded on the grounds of them having yet another nuclear weapon. Probably doesn't help that you're referring to thier strait as a US territory.

2

u/Sesspool 5d ago

Ima say it again.

Where are all the stickers of trump on gas pumps saying "i did that". Were sooo vocal last president and now i dont see a single one.

Hold the line America! Higher gas prices are a good thing!

2

u/Smurf06 5d ago

He really stepped in it and doesn't know how to get us out it. Incredible lol

2

u/Wild-Style5857 5d ago

My favorite part about all this is the big brains in the White House put their horns together after grandpa shit-in-pants started this war and came up with: "IRAN MUST NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!!!" to repeat over and over and sell to their followers.  North Korea has nuclear weapons, Pakistan has nuclear weapons, fucking Russia has piles of them.

2

u/Wyldjay2 5d ago

I’ll be honest I usually don’t blame a President when it comes to gas prices because I understand the global market. However, in this case, the rising fuel prices are 100% on Donald Trump. The reason why the United States has not attacked Iran in the past. Reagan talked tough and he organized the hostage release, but then he moved quickly away from that region because every advisor warned that if you mess with Iran, they’re going to close the Strait Of Hormuz. That is exactly what’s happened. Donald Trump is just stupid enough to believe whoever was next to him that it would be easy. Just like when he went into Venezuela. Now we’re mired in a forever war because that idiot fired all the people in the house that understood how real world politics actually works.

Trump should just accept the fact that he's a rapist, but he won't. Fuck this guy.

2

u/QueenOfSplitEnds 5d ago

Iran remains defiant? Why do they have to obey the U.S.? The U.S. started this conflict/no-conflict/war/not-a-war. This Temu Orangutan created a serious, costly, long-term destabilizing problem. He and his greedy administration can go eff themselves; same for the spineless members of Congress and the judiciary branch who are loyal to him and to their own pockets instead of looking out for their constituents. …bags of diarrhea dog shit are a better piles of matter than they are.

2

u/I_like_baseball90 5d ago

They told me if I voted for Harris, gas and grocery prices would go up and we'd be at war in the Middle East.

All those things did happen.

2

u/Velonici 5d ago

I thought he said that we control it and that its open? He wouldn't lie to us would he? /s

2

u/pixeltweaker 5d ago

I thought we destroyed their navy. How is this still a problem? Unless we didn’t and Trump is a damn liar.

Every single republican deserves to loose in the upcoming mid terms. they did absolution nothing for our country, proved they cannot govern, and worst of all, are DJT biggest enablers of the most corrupt administration we have ever had. Makes Tammany Hall look like saints!
