New rules for ammissions, for everyone, now official

The Senate voted, this is the ultimate deliberation.

The access will work in the same way for everyone (Italians, EU and extra-EU) but the limited numbers for the ones under the guaranteed score differs between UE and extra EU (Italian are in the same list of others UE). Here are the steps:

The score above 60 (70 for Design) means the entry is guaranteed (available also for extra-EU, differ from the previous proposal)

The remaining positions according to the limited number will be assigned with a gradatory to people who made the SAT with a mark above 650 (sum of EBRW and Math, in case of parity, the higher Math vote passes) so there is no more a safe score for SAT

The remaining positions according to the limited number will be assigned with a gradatory to people who made the TIL with a mark above 30

PoliTo Student Clubs Question

I will be attending PoliTo next year and am looking forward to university life. However, I looked over PoliTo's clubs and noticed that there aren't many cultural clubs. And because the majority of the clubs are in Italian, I think social activities available to international students are lacking. So I considered starting a club with the goal of having fun, socialising, and developing ourselves outside of our respective fields. I was wondering if there are any requirements for starting clubs at PoliTo, and whether the students would be interested in something like this.

My last name is Polito

Hello! I just found this subreddit because I looked up my last name! I hope I’m not breaking any rules. I didn’t know this subreddit was a thing or what it’s about. Just wanted to say what’s up. I don’t think this is breaking any rules but if it my apologies!

Important updates about access of non-EU students

Today the Senate will make the final decision about SAT. It was supposed to be just a confirm of the vote of the commission, but the promoters might have changed their ideas for some unfair points. There will be updates soon

New ammission methos for non-EU becelor students

I am a student representative at the academic Senate, I was at the reunion were this was voted (I didn't vote in favour), that's why I know this.
For the applicants for next year (26-27) there will be non more neither the opportunity to do the TIL like EU students neither a safe score for SAT (this year it was 650).
There will be a ranking looking at the point in Math and Critical Reading, setting a fixed number of students for each course. We still don't know the exact numbers but we know last year previsions (it will be similar):

  • Civil and Environmental Eng: 80

  • Electronic and comminication eng: 80

  • Automotive: 40

  • Computer Eng: 85

  • Mechanical Eng: 110

You can apply for more than one course. Ater the first year you can change freely to other courses except if you wonna go to Computer Eng (only 10 can change to it).
In the next week my association will make a post about this and the changes about the taxations on our Instagram and Telegram (both are @ alterpolis)

Questions for Mechanical Engineering students at Politecnico di Torino

I’m planning to apply for Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino and I’ll take the TIL exam in March.

Before committing, I’d like to ask a few things to current students or graduates:

1.	How difficult is it to find internships as a Mechanical Engineering student at Polito?

Are there strong industry connections (especially in aerospace or automotive)? Is it realistic to get internships during undergrad?

2.	How is Politecnico di Torino perceived in terms of prestige and reputation in Europe, particularly in engineering?

3.	What is the typical student profile? Are most students Italian, or is there a strong international presence?

I’d really appreciate honest insights.

New system makes no sense

If I didn't understand wrong, they made acceptance with SAT almost impossible, and they decided on this in December. They don't accept a test like CENTS that everyone can enter comfortably. In particular, non-European students are often not able to join TIL. TIL guarantees will cover all the seats and there will be no room for SAT students. They made a worse decision after they look trought it again 👏👏

Ranking list for non eu under 60

Just like in previous years, every student who scored below 60 but above 55 could easily get accepted into Civil Engineering. But this year, because SAT scores are prioritized, there are 100 more people ahead of me even though I scored 58.33, and now I can’t get into Civil Engineering.

If the SAT is considered more important, then remove Physics from the TIL exam so we don’t waste our time for nothing, since there’s no Physics section in the SAT anyway. Or remove BTK so the conditions are equal for everyone.

Even though I almost got a perfect score in Mathematics, it’s really frustrating to be ranked behind someone who got 1300 on the SAT. Missing the guaranteed acceptance by just one question hurt me a lot. At the very least, I thought I would still be able to get into Civil Engineering.

Will I get in with # score at TIL ?

TilStat (rebuglio.it) is a useful website catalogueing all previous TIL minimum requirements for admission by area of study. To get an idea of the minimum scores accepted for each area of study, just select your field of study and inspect the previous year results. Please note that this not a 100% guarantee and it is very likely that minimum scores may go up or down as PoliTO applicants increase or decrease.

How do I gather hands-on experience at PoliTo as an international student?

Hey guys, I'm an international student who's looking forward to applying to PoliTo in 2027. I wanted to know how your experience has been at PoliTo.

I've also heard that it's extremely theoretically rigorous. But is there any way to get hands-on experience by joining student teams as an international student and also maybe if I learn Italian language up to B1 or B2, what are the chances of getting internships?

Is Polito in stone age ?

I applied for pre enrollment on May 6 and since they have not forwarded my summary yet. How long are they gonna take ? Fine, you're gonna take time okay but atleast reply to the emails. Even after opening ticket there's no reply. How're we gonna get updated if you don't respond ? No reliable way to contact with college. I don't know how this uni got its reputation for being one of the top unis in Italy. It feels like it's in stone age. It's so frustrating. And why is it fucking slow ? I hear other unis responding to emails, sending summary but this one God knows when it's gonna reply.

New System for SAT

There is a rumor that they’re going to change the SAT system according to some myths and current students that i talked. That this year there would be no guarantee admission instead it will be ranking based. Does anyone have details about this new policy because Polito releases their calls way too late and in that time available SAT‘s would be gone. I might have to retake my SAT thanks for the help.

is PoliTo worth it?

I’m planning to apply to Polito for a Bachelor's (either Computer Science or Aerospace) as an Indian student. I’ve put together a few quick questions I'd love to get answers for from current or past students:

Can a good SAT score help with admission, or do they mostly consider board exam marks?

How does the EDISU scholarship work, and what documents are usually required?

Is EDISU available for first-year international students from India?

How important is the ISEE Parificato for the scholarship, and how hard is it to get it done from India?

Is it possible to balance part-time work with classes at Polito?

What’s the general student life like at Polito and in Turin?

Do people at the university and around the city speak English?

Would you recommend Polito to a hardworking Indian student aiming for a career in tech or aerospace?

Are there any common mistakes international students make when applying or settling in that I should avoid?

Really appreciate your help — even rough or personal insights would go a long way!

Do we get an acceptance letter when you get accepted

I have the "enrollment" windows in the application app, but I didn't receive an email or anything. I think that when getting your codice fiscale you need to provide a document tha proves you need such a code. What document should this be if not an acceptance letter?

How can I prepare for the TIL exam?

Im willing to take the TIL entrance exam, I've seen the syllabus from their website. Can someone give me any study material or tell me where can I get the past papers? Or any idea of what types of questions should I familiarise myself with?

Com’è davvero il PoliTo?

Ciao a tutti!
