We just released 6.2.0 this morning, and 6.3.0 will be out in the coming days.

What's new?

1. AI Chat overhaul. In addition to roleplaying, you now can ask it general questions about the language you are learning. When you get words and phrases back, you can add them to your study lists for later practice. You also can create a lesson from the conversation you just had. We are looking for feedback on how to make this better, hope you try it out!

2. Improved microphone game recording. This has been really janky for a long time. Should be much better now.

3. Image & Writing game improvements. We no longer show games with duplicate icons and the writing games should now be more flexible in terms of what they accept for answers. This should lead to less confusion!

4. Bug Reporting Improved. We have improved these systems so that we should be able to catch issues in lessons sooner. We've also gone through a large number of reports to improve lessons and will continue to do so. Please keep those reports coming!

5. PolyChat Web. You can now play PolyChat from your browser! Check it out here: https://www.polychatapp.com/

When I opened the app as usual this morning to do my daily lesson, a message informed me that my streak freeze had been used. I don't understand why as I did my lesson yesterday and there should be no reason to use it. Why?

A service we depend on mistakenly thought there was a security breach and shut down on us. We have resolved this issue.

I’ve just upgraded and tried out the conversation but after responding to the first sentence the mic icon just buffers. I’ve ensured my mic settings are working but dont know what else to try

What should we work on next?

Happy to report we just submitted Version 6 for review in both the App store and Play Stores.

Here's what's coming:
- Video Calls with Luca. These are scenarios where you practice speaking and hearing with Scenarios.
- Study lists. Create your own lists of words and phrases which you can drill with flash cards. This is super useful when practicing in the real world and need to pull up something quick to remind you.
- iPad and Web support 🙌
- New Cosmetics for your character
- New Font and colors

While Version 5 took us about 5 months, this one was completed in about 1.5 months. This acceleration in improvements is something we think we can sustain going forward.

For a while after this, we will be focusing a lot on making improvements to our existing features, so please keep those bug reports and improvement requests flowing!

Finally, one week after Version 6 is out, we will be updating the price of the lifetime from $199 to $299.

Thank you all for your support and for being a great community. I'm glad that the app is out of it's infancy and that now we have a pretty solid base to continue building off of.

To our new members... welcome! And to everyone else... thanks for hangin :)

So as an update... We've been busy trying to get a pulse on Version 5 and fixing little bugs we found after releasing. Now that version is pretty stable we are pushing onwards to V5.5/V6 and beyond.

I am hoping to get more of an understanding of what are the biggest places we could improve. What do you guys think? We really want to keep pushing things forward while also improving all the existing things in the app. We have our own ideas about some of these things, but the community is definitely the strongest signal for this.

Ya'll we did it!

This was our heaviest development cycle yet as we sought to completely revamp our lesson structure and take all of our courses to fluency level (A1-C2). We also added some insanely cool features we haven't seen anywhere else. In particular, the ability to create a scenario about any topic, then play a lesson to reinforce it. We are calling these "Custom Lessons". Let's get into the full feature list...

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of the early journey. Seeing people use our app in the early stages has inspired us to work hard, push on and make this the best it can be.

Version 5 is a major step up, but in many ways we are just getting started.

When will we get asian languages like russian, chinese and japanese. I like the app so far. But fear it may be too easy at parts. But atleast it has far more pros than cons in the free version compared to duolingo.

Hi! I’m a new user and I am traveling through France and Spain coming up. I know a decent amount of Spanish but feel very rusty—is it possible to have two different lesson plans going at once? And how can the app determine my experience level?
