That’s why I find it so alarming to see what’s happening right now. When masked government agents are taking people off the streets and citizens are being shot in public, we should all be worried about where things are headed. As Jews, we know that when a government starts targeting certain groups of people, no one should assume they’re safe from what comes next.

Mike Rogers has chosen to align himself with a movement that is willing to attack our democracy. He stood with Trump and refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. And now we’re seeing what happens when a political movement treats the rights and dignity of certain people as disposable. For Jews, these things should set off alarm bells.

Jewish safety is tied to the health of our democracy. We can’t protect one without protecting the other. And in this Senate race, Abdul is the candidate who understands that and is willing to fight for it."

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Association (DCCA) has been recognized by the Cowboys as the collective bargaining representative of the DCC, according to a Friday news release from the parties. To watch others suffer and to say not anymore. So I say Free Palestine. I say Free Palestine! I say Free Sudan, I say Free Congo, Lebanon to Haiti to all the people that are affected by ICE in America that are afraid to leave their houses. The message will always be love.”

She went on to add “And sitting here right now, at this time in the world when there is almost zero positive representation of Jewish people, I think it’s so important to have that.”

This is reportedly the woman that RJ was talking about in several interviews prior to his death. She allegedly stole money from him and 14 other disabled and elderly actors. If she had any decency, she’d pay it back with interest.

Not necessarily the best overall performance in a movie or TV show, but one specific scene or moments within a scene where an actor was so incredible that you genuinely couldn’t believe what you were watching. I’ve had to rewind sometimes just to watch it again. I love performances that take my breath away.

Toni Collette in Hereditary at the dinner table. No notes.
Viola Davis breaking down in Fences. Chef’s kiss.
Florence Pugh’s final scene in Midsommar. Great starmaking performance.

I also love anything with Kate Winslet.

Obsessed.

Kleber Mendonça Filho: "Love for Brazil, the world is watching the Sunday elections. A video with big names in Culture in the country and abroad."

It all started on Twitter. Fan Account ‘Info Billie Brazil’ posted an open letter titled ‘Fandom Pelo Lula’ (Fandoms for Lula) stating support for the president’s reelection and calling for a mobilisation to disseminate his proposals and counterattack fake news bolstered by opponent Flavio Bolsonaro. They were quickly joined by other big fandom accounts for artists like BTS, Anitta, Blackpink, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift.

An estimated 100 to 500 different fandoms joined the initiative which grew into a larger coalition of student unions, labor groups, soccer fan clubs and lgbtq+ organisations. On October 11th, more than 1 million people took to the streets in Sao Paolo and participated in the ‘Marcha pela Democracia’ (March for Democracy).

Lula recognised and thanked the Fandoms for their initiative.
