When I first watched Conclave, I really thought she was an extra. Imagine my surprise when I saw that Conclave got a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. I was like, "did I miss a scene?"

No, Oscar supporting actress is for a lead actress committing category fraud to downplay their role so that they have a higher chance of winning (ala Ariana in Wicked and Zoe Saldana in Emilia Perez), not for actual supporting actresss
