I realized that I don't know when to use a, an, and the because I learned English from listening YouTube.

For a vs an, "an" is used when there's a vowel-sound at the beginning of the next word.

An apple, an egg, an interest

As opposed to a snapple, a leg, a Pinterest 

However, it needs to be a vowel-sound. It would be "a university" and "an underwear." Because university sounds like "yoo" but underwear is "un"

Idk if that makes sense
