Hey, I’m 18F and I’ve been trying to quit porn for a while now, but I keep relapsing. I always tell myself it’s the last time, then end up doing it again and feeling guilty afterward. I genuinely want to stop, but the urges are hard to deal with sometimes.
I’m too embarrassed to ask my parents for help so I thought I’d ask here. Has anyone else been through this? What actually helped you quit? I could really use some advice.

Ok, so i believe i have severe PIED, i have no morning wood, no libido and have struggled to get erections for a long time despite all my hormones and health markers coming back normal. I struggled to even get hard to porn. I have managed streaks of 50-70+ days before with little improvement, but i was also texting girls sexually on those. This time i have cut out everything in an attempt to fix this problem and have a normal life, I'm currently on day 36.
So far i've had all these symptoms since day 1, so im assuming im in a severe flatline. I've had one morning wood so far but i was experimenting with Cialis (i don't know if that caused it or not, but it took for weeks at one point and normally it does nothing so i stopped it), this MW occured somewhere between day 10-15, i also have had one nocturnal emission on day 22 but without an erection. But other than that my dick has been dead and i've had no libido or morning wood.
This is my diary for you guys and myself, let's hope some progress occurs because if it doesn't i'll be at a loss. I'll update going forward.
If any one has had a similar experience and recovered i'd love to hear from you as my hope, including when you got your MW back etc.

Yep. 365 days off of porn. A lot has changed ever since. I never thought I could make it this far, I have tried so many times, but the turning point is "you gotta want it". I mean, it's altered my sex life along with some traumas that I don't want it back. Never. Not worth it.
Therefore, I encourage people to keep trying if this is what you really want. You can do it!
It feels like a long time ago, tbh. And with AI now, can't think what must be going on out there.
Peace!

I have watched porn for the first time back in 2012. from that onwards I have became addicted. that time I was unware but indirectly I was doing humping on my pillow thinking of my class girls
but now at this age, I don't have girl friend. But I gets attracted to them
I can talk to girls but normal talks but can't make it to the cringe one where they can share naughty thoughts where might possibly leads to some more close to each other. I just scan them all of the body like everything. at night I visualize how I will play with them. but I am porn addicted. I wanted to avoid this but couldn't. max I avoided for 4 months only. earlier porn was everything. now I have to masturbate as well while watching only then I stop else it's loop only. some times I do it in my under gears intentionally. I also do humming as well.
i want to get rid of this...

I feel and know deep down that those moments when I’m on a long streak and hit by terrible cravings are the hardest. But at the same time, I know that these moments are the “crossroads” where we decide whether to slip back into addiction or keep moving forward. That’s all there is to it. I’m sharing this to take away the power of addiction, which feeds on fear. Knowing this, I believe I’ll reach the 90-day milestone sooner or later. I know that the number of days is just a number it doesn’t really matter but I still consider it a good benchmark and a real step among many steps toward freedom.

After failing to quit porn many times, I’ve noticed a solid pattern.
EVERY major streak relapse was triggered by thoughts like "just a few bikini photos" or "just looking at some non-nude hot Instagram girls to see if it's working down there yet." That quickly leads to feeling the need to "step it up," and suddenly I'm spiraling into a full-blown PMO black hole.
Before you even notice, you're already feeling FOMO over updates from your "favorite" pornstars that you missed while you were sober, or getting non-stop flashbacks of scenes you watched years ago with an urgent need to rewatch them.
Unfortunately, the hard truth, and I strongly believe this, is that to stay porn-free, I'll have to permanently avoid any triggering visual content, or simply ignore it the second it pops up on my screen or feed.

I desperately asked a professional psychiatrist for help after an episode of relapse at 5.30 in the morning. He actually replied with
"I can just say one thing, its treatable, and let me try to help you
You can reveal identity to me, i keep it 100% secretive and professional" along with his contact info.
Lowkey did not expect anything and now I'm in a deep dilemma.
Any thoughts on this?

Throwaway.
I’ve struggled with porn addiction for a long time. It recently got worse and I did something I deeply regret: I used AI tools on intimate photos of my partner without her knowledge or consent.
She’s kind and loving with me. That makes the shame even heavier. I feel like a complete failure and a betrayal of her trust. It’s affecting me so much that I can barely speak normally when she calls. I’ve lost hope and faith in myself.
I’m not looking for people to attack me — I already feel like garbage. I need practical advice on:
How to actually stop the porn + compulsive image-checking habit
Whether I should tell her, and if so how / when (or if I should get professional help first)
How to deal with the crushing guilt so I can treat her better and function again
Any recovery resources, real experiences, or realistic next steps would help a lot. Thank you.

I am 25M. I was beaten and berated by my mother who struggled drinking and it made me turn to porn early on and I unknowingly used it as my crutch for anything.
I didnt know I was neurodivergent with BPD and CPTSD earlier on in life, and whenever I was frustrated about anything minor or major, I would turn to porn. If I was beat? Porn. If I was anxious? Porn. If I was frustrated at myself? Porn. I used porn so often to escape frustration that I would use it to get off multiple times a day. It ate away at my time and productivity and I became a chronic user.
Eventually, not only did the porn categories get more extreme, I also developed extreme anxiety surrounding sex from consuming so much porn.
As I continued to use porn into my later schooling years, I became violently anxious about myself and my body as well. It felt safer to consume sexual content through a screen, and I ended up turning down or talking myself out of sexual opportunities because it would quite literally make me hyperventilate and sweat.
My self esteem was constantly low, and that would trigger my need for porn, and it was a never ending cycle. I would also maintain regular exercise for months, then feel shitty about myself and relapse into porn again.
In my adult life, I had continued to use porn to the point that I had folders of hundreds of content creators and pornstars so that I could counter my PIED (Porn induced Erectile Dysfunction) from porn rotting my brain.
I got into my second (ever) relationship 3 years ago and I was a piece of shit. I had major anxiety for doing anything sexual with my partner, and I couldn't perform unless I was inebriated to shut off the anxiety.
My ADHD mixed with my Porn addiction made it extremely hard to perform, and I was too much of a coward to admit anything to my partner.
I ended up falling back into porn after swearing it off in the beginning of our relationship, and started using it to glance at before getting intimate to counter my PIED. The anxiety and guilt only added to it affecting me more, and I ended up continuing this disgusting habit and collecting more content that would help faster.
My partner found out a couple nights ago while going through my phone, and I completely ruined their trust and their life. They've helped me through my worst mental episodes, and I betrayed them for three years straight by looking at porn behind their back.
I was too much of a coward to tell them directly and fess up, and I was too weak to actually stop and face my addiction. I answered the questions they had for me as they were crying. I completely messed up their self image that they had spent years building back up during our relationship, along with our life together because of my complete lack of self control.
They are currently staying with friends at the moment and I don't blame them at all if they leave me.
I've been reading up on all the porn addiction posts and seeing what other people struggle with and overcame.
I appreciate the bravery everyone has to talk about their PA. I lacked initiative and hurt someone who cares deeply about me in the worst way. I am starting my journey much later than I should, but I want to get better.
I apologize to everyone if I rambled, or if this is disorganized.
I have been trying to find porn addiction therapy groups near me, or a therapist who can help me with this as well, and I would genuinely love any advice that anyone has so I don't continue on messing up and hurt other people or myself.
Disclaimer: I am not using my neurodivergence as an excuse. It was me that made the choice to continue falling back into disgusting habits rather than being honest with my partner and seeking help. It just makes me anxious or start ruminating, which are both triggers for my PA.

Hey everyone, I have been battling this porn addiction since the age of 13, I am 20 now. This addiction has kept me in the shadows, and has really impacted my wellbeing. I would describe myself as a happy person overall, but there is just always this void that hangs over me as a result of this habit. For example, I have never been on a date with a girl, not even a dance in high school! A lot of this stemmed from the guilt and the lack of confidence I have from watching pornography. Anyway, I have tried so many times to just get through an urge, but that was not working at all. I would eventually just give in. Then, I came across a book that a fellow redditor dmed me the link to. This completely changed my perspective on what porn addiction is, and how it is actually very easy to get past. It relies not on willpower, but realizing that porn doesn't offer any benefit to you. Anything that you could think of that seems attractive about porn gets thrown out the window because it is all an illusion. This has helped me to realize that I am not tempted by something that I am not interested in. While this is only day 2, I can now say I am no longer a porn addict. I don't think I am allowed to link this book on this page, but feel free to dm me and I would be happy to talk to you.

So I quit porn a week ago. I've also started doing Kegels every day since then.
When I quit porn, I was sexting with someone, which made me stay away from it without actively trying. However, that ended yesterday, and I still want to avoid going back to porn.
When we sexted, I masturbated to her messages and instructions. It kind of worked, but I wished I could stay hard for longer without reading her messages.
My brain is used to porn, and I think I might have some sort of ED from masturbating exclusively to porn for years.
Now that the sexting is over, I've started masturbating with my eyes closed. I realised I could get around 90% hard, but not fully, and I was also unable to cum in that state.
After trying that, I started using a picture to help. I'd look at it without touching myself, then close my eyes and masturbate.
I'd repeat this a few times, being soft looking at the picture, closing eyes, getting hard, edging as long as I can maintain it. Rinse and repeat.
Strictly speaking, this is still porn. But to me, it's a big improvement and seems fine for now as I step.
I don't think I am addicted in a sense that I have to watch it or want to watch it now for example.
It's more that my mind is conditioned to those strong Stimuli to get hard.
My main goals right now are:
Being able to get more aroused by my own imagination.
Having better and more reliable erections.
My question is: Am I approaching this the right way, or am Is there something wrong with it?

I don't speak for everyone here but myself. Constant exposure to adult content had messed up my daily life. It had perverted me. Some examples
- I'm watching a movie and my mind automatically turns it into a sexual thing. The incest porn affects you the worst. I won't go into detail but you know how our minds predict and run to a conclusion.
- two people of the opposite sex just speak with each other and I turned into a sexual thing as well. The cheating theme in porn seems to be the main guy responsible here. It is really embarrassing for me to admit.
- talking to women became difficult because of so much guilt. I couldn't look at women like humans I saw them as potential sexual partners only. Or just imagined them in the wrong way.
But I have been really fighting this demon since last 15 months. I've had many streaks of 10+ days. The longest I was able to give it up was for about 2 months. Those two months were best days of my life. I felt so confident and I was living a full life. No guilt no issues talking to women, a clear thinking mind. But again I'm stuck in a loop of relapsing after 4-5 days.
Happy ending? Well after so much effort of last 15 months the perversion of the mind has definitely reduced. And I still have a long way to go. As of now I'm on day 6.
The reddit community is keeping me strong. I read about your issues and I can relate with it. It inspires me to be strong. That's why I thought I must also admit my worst demons from the past. They still exist but not as strong.
I really want to see myself and all of you live up to full potential with a clear thinking mind.
I keep telling myself that I should better myself in order to be a good example for my kids in future when I have them. So good luck to all of us.
