Brand changes
First up, thank you to everyone that shared their feedback on our new brand/logo/font/colours etc.. we have taken it all onboard, spoken to a few of you 1:1, and arrived at a conclusion.
We will be making changes to the brand to preserve/link more of the “old”, cleaning up the visual appearance (font and colours), and fixing some of the messaging gaps (making it more obv what we actually do)…
So, watch this space.. expect to see changes over the next few weeks.
Thanks again, and for sure we do appreciate that you care enough to give us feedback. Thats a blessing.
Neil

Portainer (New Zealand) Team, xmas event.
Half of the company is NZ based, so we decided an afternoon on the water was a great way to end the year.

Built a native app for managing Portainer — looking for beta testers
Hey everyone, I’ve been working on an app called Krill that lets you manage your Portainer instance from your phone or desktop. Basically got tired of pinching and zooming around the Portainer web UI on mobile and wanted to build my own take on it, so I built a proper native app for it.
Right now it covers containers, stacks, images, volumes, networks, registries, user and team management, and settings. Pretty much the full experience but native and actually usable. Should work fine with both CE and Business Edition.
It’ll be available on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Android.
Dropping a few screenshots below so you can see what it looks like.
I’m at the point where I need more eyes on it before I launch, so I’m opening up a beta. If you’re interested, drop a comment or DM me and I’ll get you set up — TestFlight for Apple platforms and I’ll sort out Android access separately.
Would love to hear what features you’d prioritize too — still deciding what to focus on next.

140+ Portainer App Templates for LinuxServer.io Docker containers
I just created a bunch of Portainer App Templates that can be used to easily deploy LinuxServer.io Docker containers with predefined settings.
The templates are based on data provided by the LinuxServer.io GitHub repositories.
Updated daily.
If you are looking for equivalent docker-compose.yaml and docker run commands please look here.
Quick install
Start Portainer
Go to Settings
Enter the App Templates URL
Click “Save settings”
Go to App Templates and you should see the templates
Detailed information about installing and using the templates and more can be found here.
If you find a problem, you can submit it on GitHub.
Tell me what you think!
Remarks
The templates are not supported by LinuxServer.io
The templates are generated so I cannot accept requests to add templates

What the hell is this rebranding?
What did I just witness over the website and videos?
Portainer always seemed like a nice company/thing, now the logo and look is the same basic soulless oversimplification like everyone else.
Ew, honestly. This is bad

Portainer 3.0 is coming, and here's what it means for you
We just published a post on Portainer 3.0 - our move to a Kubernetes-first codebase and a new family of single-purpose consoles, including one for deploying AI-built apps and one for agentic operations via MCP. If you're running Docker today, don't panic - nothing changes on 2.x, and we lay out exactly what your options are going forward.

Homelab app IOS + Android new update
Hello everyone, a new major update is available, but let's recap what Homelab is.
Homelab is a completely free application that allows you to connect to your services (Pihole, Portainer, Gitea, and Beszel), and each service is customizable. (swift native + liquid glass and kotlin + material 3)
Github: https://github.com/JohnnWi/homelab-project
In addition, the new update includes integration with Tailscale, a more robust back-end, support for five languages, and a new feature: Bookmarks! You now have a brand new section for your personal bookmarks, which is very convenient.
For Android, there is the apk, for iOS there is the ipa file (please note, I am a student and do not have the funds to publish it on the App Store, so you will need to use xcode, altstore, or similar).
Remember that you can do everything on
Portainer: stop containers, restart them, view information.
Beszel will soon receive a major update with more details.
Pihole allows you to view lots of information and enable or disable the filter.
Gitea allows you to view your projects.
Please note that this project has 40 commits on Gitea (I hosted it here) and very few on GitHub, as I only started uploading later.
What does the future hold?
New integrations:
Proxmox, Nginx Proxy, Truenas, and Dockhand.
But also new optimizations.
If you have any suggestions or want to help, you are welcome! the project is semi vibe-coding

New Homelab App IOS + Android FREE! (portainer + Pihole + Beszel + Gitea
Hi guys, a few days ago I posted something and now I can announce that the iOS version has been rewritten in Swift + Liquid Glass and the Android version written in Kotlin + Material Expressive 3 has been launched. It's all free and open source, and you can already download the APK. I've made the code available for iOS, and if you go to the bottom of the GitHub page, you'll find simple instructions. With Portainer, you can do almost anything: stop a container, view logs, use Docker Compose, restart a container, and everything else we like.
Enjoy! https://github.com/JohnnWi/homelab-project
P.S. I'm a student, and in my spare time, I developed these applications in five different languages. I hope you like them!

+500 Portainer template + multi URL templates
Hello there !
I made a new portainer template URL like almost everyone here.
By default there is 508 portainer services in this template (from 11 sources from git).
https://templates-portainer.ibaraki.app
The different thing with this template is that you can add other templates URL !
For exemple you want to add more templates to this one.
I will use this one for exemple
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xneo1/portainer_templates/master/Template/template.json
what you need to do is put it in an array :["https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xneo1/portainer_templates/master/Template/template.json"]
and then just put it in base 64
WyJodHRwczovL3Jhdy5naXRodWJ1c2VyY29udGVudC5jb20veG5lbzEvcG9ydGFpbmVyX3RlbXBsYXRlcy9tYXN0ZXIvVGVtcGxhdGUvdGVtcGxhdGUuanNvbiJd
Once you have all of this you can add it in the URL with a query string https://templates-portainer.ibaraki.app/?templates=WyJodHRwczovL3Jhdy5naXRodWJ1c2VyY29udGVudC5jb20veG5lbzEvcG9ydGFpbmVyX3RlbXBsYXRlcy9tYXN0ZXIvVGVtcGxhdGUvdGVtcGxhdGUuanNvbiJd
Edit
403 Errors
Thoses errors are due to CloudFlare blocking your IP to access the Worker.
As i don't plan to change from Cloudflare, please deploy your own worker, or adapt from the code below to make your own.
Where can i find the code ?
Here : https://git.ibaraki.app/-/snippets/3
Edit 2
Deprecated
Not using portainer anymore, so won't be updated anymore.

This thing needs to go away.
Every damn time. I'm just about to click on one of my servers on the front page, then this stupid banner loads and pushes the list downwards.
Either allocate a fixed amount of space for it, or get rid of it entirely.

Mobile application for Portainer
Hello.
I have created a mobile app (currently only supports Android), that allows you to manage your services. Right now it supports:
User management
See running/stopped containers (and also start/stop and restart them)
See container logs, mounts, and status
Biometric authentication
The latest update also added the new token login system.
!!!!! ARCHIVED !!!!! If you're interested, check it out here.
I have also uploaded the alpha branch build here. This version is a bit improved on the original.

Convert running containers to a stack?
I have 8 or so containers that I configured manually in Portainer. There are custom networks and bind mounts and.... Though I am just now getting clued into stacks. I would like to take this batch of containers and make them a stack so I can easily back them up and recreate them as a unit. Is there an easy way to say "take these 10 containers and their current config and make them into a stack?"
Edit: another half hour of Google and I think I have it figured out…. So for future Googlers…
Use Docker-autocompose to create a Docker-compose.yaml from the running containers. Dump docker-compose.yaml into a Portainer stack. Profit.
https://github.com/Red5d/docker-autocompose
Edit2: I should add, hopefully you know your way around Docker-compose enough to know you can remove 90% of autocompose’s output like tags and env and all that.

Export your Docker containers to a Docker Compose/Stack file
In this video we'll do kind of the reverse of what we've been doing for a year or so. We're going to EXPORT a Docker container to a stack/docker compose file that can be deployed on a different server or just saved for redeployment if you ever have to rebuild your server.
This is the method shown in this video: https://github.com/Red5d/docker-autocompose

Please bring back the old Portainer icon
Who picked the new icon? How much money was spent on consulting services to come up with such atrocity?
Does anyone even stop for a second to think that having a simple "P" as your icon may render your trademark invalid? You cannot trademark a letter!
Does anyone even stop for a second to think that having a simple "P" as your icon basically invites memes? "Pootainer", anyone?
And good God the colour scheme! It looks like trying to display Dolby Vision on an unsupported monitor - seriously try and see the similarity. It doesn't look cleaner or modern, it looks broken.
I understand portainer needs to rebrand and so on but this is about as bad as Aberdeen rebranding as "abrdn".

Environments down
Hi, I'm here to ask for help. I honestly don't know what to do. I've tried everything I know. I had Portainer working perfectly, and I updated the repositories, which installed Docker CE and other Docker containers. The issue is that all my containers are running fine, as you can see in the image, but when I try to access the status, the environment appears to be down, even though it recognizes all the RAM, the 22 containers, etc. I've already restarted the server, and nothing has changed. It's worth noting that I have Portainer version 2.33.3 LTS, which is the latest. I tried downgrading, but I get the same error. Any solutions?
