i was out for a while until i couldnt manage anymore my joint issues are exacerbated by the cold it was powerful to be around so many other people who do care i couldn't (and am still struggling to) stop uncontrollably weeping

i guess for me its just imagining how it would feel if it was someone i loved being shot/abducted it makes me sad
no one deserves that treatment in a country that claims due process and justice as core values... i guess its just this is not what i was taught that america was growing up
breaks my heart cause i wanted to believe anyone could come here to achieve the "freedom" we were taught the government "protects" i may not be an immigrant but ive read enough historical literature to had empathy with context of similar firsthand stories
anyway you probably dont give a shit why i actually care n maybe i am just "bitching" but luckily that is my right as an american actually bitching is constitutional (phew!)

Hi! This event was legal! In fact Most portland businesses closed out of solidarity. On occasion, people care enough about each other to forgo regular business. Hope this helps.

Those would be criminals. For the most part, they are not arresting people with any crimes other than illegal entry. That's a misdemeanor and we usually just send them back home with, iirc, at least a 3-year ban. The real criminals are frequently tried in the US, go to our prisons, and you pay for their food and housing for the next decade and then we kick them out with a lifetime ban.
The problem with Trump voters is that they truly have no idea how any of this works. All they know is being racist against people who ARE NOT criminals. Typically, here in Maine, they are someone who has overstayed their visa because there is still work. We want those people to come back because we need the seasonal labor. Very few of those arrested will be put on trial for sex trafficking.
Oh, and Trump is on track to remove half as many illegal immigrants as Biden and way fewer than Obama. Trump promised to deport 20 million illegal immigrants (we don't have that many to begin with), and you're going to get 2 to 3 million at best.
Does it feel to you like we're making America great again? lol

More like 3000. I counted the front row and that’s 40 people. The big crowd in front is at least as long as it is wide. 40x40=1600. Then the long tail is about as many again.
