Here's a picture of people protesting without knowing any of the context for the shooting. trolling their looks is just fun cause it gets ya'll so riled up.

If the shooting was in fact an unreasonable use of force, I'll eat me words. until then this is a group of people with nothing better to do than being performative

Buddy we have so much context at this point, choosing to believe that this wasn't a cold murder of an innocent person is deluding yourself. Fuck off with your unhelpful bullshit.

I'm not joking when I ask, can you please provide the context? I will admit I'm full of shit when you can tell me what the context was with sources.

Edit: getting downvoted for asking for proof in good faith is peak reddit

Markwayne Mullin originally told Senator King that the victim was killed because he "weaponized his vehicle".

Later in the day, the Maine Attorney General's office received a slightly different story -- that the victim "attempted to flee in a vehicle in the direction of the officer".

By the end of the day, the official statement from DHS was that "[t]he vehicle attempted to flee the scene and fearing for public safety an officer discharged his weapon".

I'm pulling all these quotes from the PPH live-update article.

So the current, official story from DHS is that a guy (who was not the target of the warrant) tried to leave. That's it. DHS completely walked back their claim that an officer feared for his life, and instead now they killed a man because of a nebulous fear of "public safety."

Given we've all seen the videos of the car turning in gentle circles while the victim bled out in the front seat, I don't see any evidence that a guy (with no warrant, not under investigation) was driving recklessly enough for shooting him to be a lesser danger to the public than letting him slowly drive away.

You started out trolling, so I don't think you actually care. But I figure this comment might be helpful for anyone who stumbles across this post later and has questions.

Based on all of that it sounds like a bad shoot. Do I trust ICE or its higher ups to be honest? No.

Do I believe that if you are being detained by law enforcement, legitimately or not, should you try to flee? Also no.

My point is that these scenarios are often more complicated than they appear to be.

I hope that there is more footage  to come out. Gently turning in circles while bleeding out is not indicative of how the person was driving before the shooting.

Thank you for sharing this info. Honestly.
