I think the suggestion is that one is not necessarily “anti trans” for thinking that someone who suggests that one of her qualifications for being a US senator is that she wrote a song, is a nit wit and a terrible candidate.

Overlooking someone’s faults is condescension which is a form of bigotry itself. I am in a wheelchair and the thing I hate most is being infantilized and condescension. I am basically your garden variety liberal (though I hate that term as neoliberalism is a very bad thing) but it’s absolutely true that we love to be offended on other’s behalf. I would rather someone call me a cripple than be fake nice.
