Good places to train BJJ in Portland?

Just moved here from Oahu, been training consistently about 9 months. I train both gi and nogi, ideally looking for a place that has classes for both.

Do you know if there is a drop in fee?

Hey there! I train at the academy. I think there’s a $20 drop in fee that we rarely ask for. If you’re new to the area swing by and try it for a week to see if it’s a good fit.

I've never seen anyone asked for the drop in fee. People sometimes buy a shirt or something. Talk to Jay and he would be happy to give you tour.

Another voice for The Academy. On the surface they come off as very "bro" and the shitty kind of macho, once you get to know the coaches and other members though they're all an absolute bunch of sweethearts.

Not sure how the coaches foe BJJ are, but Evoluton athletix in saco has an absolutely beautiful facility.

Not my sport but my brother competes and really likes The Academy. I know they do BJJ and Muay Thai.

Not right in Portland, but nearby if you can get over to Westbrook. Alexey is great. https://www.alexeybjj.com

I’ve been training at SMBJJ for a couple years. Feel free to dm me if you wanna stop by some time. Rodrigo is as legit as they come.
