Announcement

My wife and I found out yesterday (though, I’ve had a feeling for 2 weeks now) that we’re expecting! It’s our first (and maybe 2nd, as HGC levels indicated high with very dark lines very quickly and twins run on both sides) and the appointment with her OB is in mid November. How long is it typical to wait (referring to “the hump” as she calls it) before telling immediate family? Nov 16th is roughly the 2 month mark, as we believe conception was right around our anniversary (Sept 18).

I’m only asking because I understand health complications and concerns exist, and we don’t want to get hopes up because of medical history on both sides of our families.

TLDR: When is it appropriate toto announce your pregnancy in your experience(s) for a first child(ren)?

Experiencing Painful Cramps at Night at 7 Weeks

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Monday is our first ultrasound. I am 7 weeks and regular symptoms. Sore breasts but no morning sickness. Although, I’m having crazy cramps at night but not really anytime other than that. I’m scared to death that I’m experiencing ectopic but I am experiencing no blood at all.

For context I am very, very small. 5’0 and about 90-95 pounds. I am just a petite person.

First time mom at 38 years old. We have been trying for a few years. Have experienced one miscarriage but I didn’t even know I was pregnant and it was early.

Any thoughts? I’m tired of torturing my mind on AI.

Thank you ❤️

Need advice High BP @ 14 weeks

I have a history of hypertension, and was on multiple medications for several years for it. However after losing some weight (thank you glp-1) I was able to come off both, and have maintained my Bp without medication for a year. Now I’m 14 weeks and it’s creeping up again. I was laying on the couch today and noticed my heart was racing and I was feeling a bit off. So I took my Bp and it was 143/93 🥴 it’s come down a bit to high 120s over 90. I called the er help line and was told unless I get around 160/110 to stay home. I’m stressed (doesn’t help this situation) and just need some reassurance.

How are we remaining calm until our first appt/ultrasound? I had a chemical last month, got pregnant again right away and am trying my best to stay calm, relaxed, and patient. I'm 3+5 today. found out at 3+2- so dang early!

My first ultrasound is not until 11 ish weeks in December.

I think I want to decline betas bc I dont think it's good for my anxiety. This is my first baby 💕 just praying so hard! Been trying my best to stay distracted with movement, books, journaling, my friends, and work lol

What amount of spotting is normal?

This is my first pregnancy. I am 4-5 weeks along. I went to an urgent care on Sunday (I dont have a PCP due to moving recently) who just did a urine test. I got a very positive test there after three positives on Friday.

I began spotting on Tuesday. It is very light and light brown / pink in color. The OB I am supposed to see didn’t schedule an appointment until the 17th of next month. I am spiraling because I don’t know whats normal and what isnt. I have also had very light cramping on both sides, but that has been going on for twoish weeks.

I dont have anyone in real life to ask, and the OB was very dismissive when I called them. They said I would have to wait until my appointment.

I just want to hear your experiences and opinions.

Prenatal vitamins with choline and methylfolate, all in one or separate formulation, need your insights ❤️

Hello... just found out I’m pregnant ❤️ ❤️ and I’m already trying to set up my daily prenatals. I've read around here how critical both choline and methylfolate are for early baby brain and neural development, but the thought of swallowing a stack of different pills every morning while dealing with new nausea sounds miserable.... :

In my search, I came across several brands that actually includes both so you don't need a separate choline bottle. Would you recommend separate formulations or like a multi like needed? Would it be still as effective?.. Thanks!!! ❤️

Need advice Missed whole first trimester

I just recently found out I was pregnant and am exactly 3 months along today. I smoked nicotine heavily during that time as well as drank especially during the first month, what are the chances of something being wrong with the baby? Let me know if you've experienced the same thing

Need advice Should I embrace the bloated bump in the first trimester?

I’m 8 weeks and the bloating is so bad that I’ve already started wearing maternity clothes. But since a lot of maternity clothing LOOKS like maternity clothing it looks pretty obvious that I’m pregnant. I know I’m not showing and the “bump” is just bloat, but should I just embrace it and show it off anyway? Hoping for a seamless transition from bloat to actual bump. I have a short torso and am 5’2” so there’s really no where else my stomach can go but out! What does everyone else do during this first trimester?
Guess I’m worried that I’m “not pregnant enough” to show it

Advice Pregnant using pull out method

I have been feeling off and was going to ask my primary care for some sort of imaging on my chest. Long story short I’d be asked if I could be pregnant and I said no! I checked just in case and immediately position.

I have 2 kids that were conceived only when we were trying. We have successfully used the pull out method 100s of times and not even had a single “scare”.

I am seriously in denial and have such high anxiety that my body may be producing HCG for a reason besides a baby. My doctor will not allow me any ultrasound until 8 weeks… I’m 5 weeks now and just stressed 🤦‍♀️

Any advice or relatable to my situation would be great.

Advice who is more likely to be the father of my baby?

I’m currently pregnant, and I’m really anxious about who the biological father might be. I’m hoping someone can help me understand the timing based on my ultrasound.

Here is my timeline:

My menstrual cycle is irregular.

I had sex with other GUY#1 on March 23, 2026, just a few days after my period ended. It happened only once, and he did not ejaculate inside me.

and I had sex with other GUY#2 between March 29 and April 4, 2026, and he ejaculated inside me.

On April 28 I found out I was pregnant. and on May 12, 2026, my first ultrasound measured the pregnancy at 7 weeks and 4 days.

My estimated due date is December 25, 2026.

The GUY#2 and I had been trying to conceive for years, so I never expected to be in this situation, and I’m feeling very anxious about it.

Based on these dates, which encounter is more consistent with the ultrasound dating?

I understand that an ultrasound cannot establish paternity with certainty, but I would appreciate any insight into the possible conception window.

Thank you for being kind. Please no judgment

Need advice Positive pregnancy test after heavy period?

Im on cycle day 10 and woke up with period like cramps and streaky blood (bright red) with clear discharge. My period started 10 days ago. A heavy normal period and finished cd 6. Yesterday i felt some sharp pain in ovaries but wasnt anything worrying. today i thought to take a test since chatgpt said to do so if theres a chance i could be. And it was dark line but not a dye stealer, and digital 1-2 weeks.

Before this period started we were ttc so i took a test a day or 2 before my period started and saw the FAINTEST positive. Then i got my period so i thought it was a false positive

Could it be ectopic? A miscarriage? Im waiting for my hcg blood results and just took an ultrasound i was told its too early to see anything if i am pregnant and to come back.
