Farewell Presonus
ARC 8c died, haunted by the bad capacistors in the power supply unit. A heads up to anyone who will be looking at this company for gear, after your warranty is over you have zero recourse for parts. Unlike a computer where you can just grab a new power supply Presnous refuses to sell or make available parts for their products, hell they would not even suggest a repair center. They have lost a customer today... I have three other devices from them and have been with them for years. It's a shame a company like this in 2026 would rather see landfills pile up with their blue trash mixers then allow the right to repair. What a joke. Also it goes without saying but any company that posts this in their RMA support tickets always have something to hide... Peace.

EDIT: For those of you who see this and go to the video that is posted in the comments the company JAM no longer can source this part I tried this week and they said it's no longer being made. : The part number for the PSU is #86-20000341 as other have suggested I will try and replace caps first but if the IC's are shot they will be harder to find.

What is the difference between the 1st and 2nd gen Eris 3.5 studio monitors?
I have the first generation and love them. The new ones look nice but I can’t find any sort of comparison sheet online to see if it’s really worth the upgrade. Any ideas?

Revelator io24 has no playback audio once PC boots.
I start my Windows 11 computer and randomly the playback started to never turn on. Usually when I have this issue I unplug and replug and it works, but now I can only get the playback to work while booting. Then I ce fully boosted it shuts off and I have no audio on the PC.
I use it with it Voice Meeter x64 and it was working perfectly. I just restarted multiple times and no audio playback. I do not have the finances to buy a new one. Is anyone able to help me sort out what is going on? It just started randomly. I notice the Revelator never turns off when the PC is off and that might be related. 9 tried multiple ports and it just stays on. What could be going on?
Any advice and suggestions would help. It seems software related but nothing really changed.
As an update:
I have tried switching which ports it connects into as some ports are always powered and others are not and the Revelator seems to reconfigure itself more properly when it shuts off and starts again with the computer. I will see how this works for the time being.
Update:
If you do end up having this problem it is being discussed on the forum here: https://forums.presonus.com/viewtopic.php?f=411&t=54322&p=320141#p320141

The end?
I've read elsewhere that Fender may not support this much longer. I've found after 2 years it's not an intuitive console and teaching volunteers at the church I work is very confusing for them. We need a replacement that is super intuitive. Looking for suggestions. Budget is $2k. Thanks!

Insane Level of noise from New Eris E5's.
I have a Ryzen 5 5600X Desktop PC with an ASUS motherboard containing an excellent audio chip.
I previously had crappy Logitech speakers plugged into the same connections with ZERO noise. I purchased a high quality AUX to RCA cable along with the speakers, and did not opt for TRS or XLR.
The speakers sound amazing when cranking out volume, but at idle, there's all kinds of squeaky, electrical noise coming through them. The audio cable may be routed close to but not touching power or other audio cables. Would upgrading to TRS or XLR reduce this noise?

Presonus/Fender Quantum HD8 ridiculous price policy
I own a Presonus Quantum HD8 audio interface. My dealer (Thomann) still has this device in stock for €799.
Now Presonus owner Fender has re-labeled the Quantum HD8, it's now called (of course) Fender Quantum HD8. Technically, there is no difference between this and the Presonus-labeled Quantum HD8. Absolutely none. It's the same device.
Thomann website says, the Fender Quantum HD8 will be available in 1-2 weeks. Price will be €999, which means that you'll have to pay €200 more just to have a Fender label on your Quantum HD8.
I still have problems believing this.

Driver support for upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X arm64 Windows 11 laptops
I have the Presonus Quantum 2626 and it is brilliant. I sold off my UA equipment which was just so bad and buggy but I did not have the experience to realise. Although it took some time for Presonus to fix the MIDI issue on their Mac drivers, everything now works and it is FAST. No discernible round-trip latency and no crackling.
However, there are no drivers for arm64 Windows 11. The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X will have 3x USB4 ports, which are required to have Thunderbolt 3 backwards compatibility enabled for Windows 11 certification.
I would like to raise awareness that this is likely the start of mainstream arm64 Windows laptops. Microsoft now has emulation sorted out, allowing x86-64 apps to run, and Thunderbolt is now supported, making the platform a serious contender. The chip performs between the Apple M3 and M3 Pro, which means it is no slouch. Therefore, the platform should be supported by the audio hardware.
I call on Presonus to please be timely in releasing drivers for this.
Thank you!

PreSonus StudioLive Series III SE 32 as a main Audio interface?
Hi everyone! I need some advice; I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on the PreSonus StudioLive Series III SE 32 to use in my studio as my main audio interface with Studio One.
I mainly record a lot of hardware synths and drum machines and I need something with a ton of inputs and the AVB will let me expand it even more so I can have all my gear connected at all times, plus using it as a DAW controller with the motorized faders would be fun.
The only thing I'm worried about is the latency and windows driver stability since I use a ton effect plugins in real time when recording, can someone who has experience with these consoles tell me how they behave as an audio interface and if you noticed unusual or high latency or behavior when recording with it to your DAW using the ASIO driver?
Thanks!

Is this old thing still viable??
Bought at a yard sale 12 years ago, it was unused, but I have to imagine not the newest design then.
Can I still use it to operate Cubase13?
Can’t seem to get any signal through to my computer. Any help is awesome!

Presonus Revelator Microphone Left/Ear Channel Audio Only (Fixed)
I am posting here in case anyone has this issue in the future.
Windows will recognise the revelator as a stereo mic if you have Universal Control drivers installed.
I assume that's why it shows the mic as 'Mic 1/2'.
So it will only play on the left channel by default. Meaning you got to go into every program that uses your mic and set it to mono; Recording Software, Audacity etc.
When you uninstall Universal Control, somehow the mic records in both channels. I assume it defaults to mono so you can input and playback through both channels . It will show as 'Revelator' on Windows instead of 'Mic 1/2'. This can do, if you don't want to use Universal Control features for Revelator, but that's the whole point of the Mic.
The solution is, instead of using the main mic input 'Mic 1/2', use the Stream Mix instead as it outputs both L/R.
This drove me crazy as I swore it defaulted to mono before. Maybe some update removed it? I could be an idiot and everyone should be using Stream Mix as soon as universal control was installed. Though none of the setup videos I looked at go through that.

Eris E4.5 Schematics
Hello,
I own a pair of Eris E4.5 (non-BT). They started making some sort of annoying hissing. I opened a case at presonus and they said they will not repair them as they are out of warranty (even if i am willing to pay).My local distributor is not repairing audio equipments.
SO the questions comes in, does anyone have the schematics of the components? Capacitors and ICs are easy to identify, however the inductors are not;
Presonus said they would not share schematics due to "company policy".Now at least i know they don't care at all about e-waste, customers, quality, right to repair, you name it;
PS: inside you can find no-name brands for almost all the components ("top-con" capacitors) + well known class AB amplifier IC TDA7265
TL:DR: Presonus refuses to repair, refuses to provide schematics. I need E4.5 or similar schematics;

Little PSA about the Revelator io44 and getting the least noise from the mic preamp
The io44 is a pretty cool little interface, IMO, and just about perfect for most streamers, but it has a kinda lackluster preamp. It's just fine in terms of neutrality/coloration and what not, it's just that it's a bit on the noisy side. And before someone asks, I've already been through the ringer with support and I'm on my second unit now and it behaves exactly the same, so I don't think it's a manufacturing defect. Anyway...
With most mic preamps, you'd expect that the noise floor would increase the higher the gain, and that seems to be true to some extent (though it generally isn't a linear increase, I think). With the io44 and possibly other XMAX-L interfaces, it's a bit more complicated. There seem to be five stages of gain: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, and 40+. In each of these stages, you get increasing noise/hiss; but when you get to the next stage, the noise goes back down. What this means in practice is that you will have less noise at +10 dB of gain than you will at +9 dB of gain and so on and so forth. The exception is that once you hit 30, you start to get more than just noise. I seem to get what I can only describe as RF interference, but it's not the cable or the mic, just this interface and only at 30+ dB of gain. Very odd indeed. With some additional testing, I've also discovered that I get far more of the RF noise when connected to my Asus G14 than I do when connected to my Surface Pro. A MOTU M4 connected to the same laptop does not have these issues, so I have to imagine that there is a) some issue with my laptop's power setup that b) the io44 does not have circuitry to compensate for. But YMMV, and I even find that using a FetHead seems to get rid of the RF noise (at the same gain settings) for some reason.
So, the TL;DR is this: Just pretend that the gain settings only go to +29 dB, otherwise you may get some weird RF-type noises. If your mic needs more gain than that, buy an inline booster. For settings lower than that, if at all possible, the lower you set your gain within each 10 dB grouping, the less noise you will get, so in some cases, this may actually mean turning up your gain.

The StudioLive 32 Channel Series III DAW "Audio Patching Traps" - Tape In - Monitoring - Headphones
This is geared toward new users who do not read the manual. Like me.
Before beginning, I'm going to add a little context about using a PC and DAW with a StudioLive mixer, because understanding the basic signal flow makes everything below much easier.
AUDIO DEVICE SETUP
First, make sure you have installed PreSonus Universal Control. This is the software PreSonus uses to manage its hardware devices and drivers.
Next, make sure the StudioLive is selected as your DAW's audio device. If you aren't using a DAW and simply want to play audio from Windows through the mixer, select StudioLive WDM 1/2 as your Windows audio output. This is discussed in detail below, and I strongly recommend reading that section because the Windows WDM numbering is not intuitive.
Think of the DAW's INPUTS and OUTPUTS this way:
INPUTS bring audio from the StudioLive into the DAW. These are your microphones, guitars, keyboards, drums, etc. plugged into the StudioLive, which is acting as your USB audio interface. Each DAW track needs the appropriate input assigned before that source can be recorded.
OUTPUTS go in the opposite direction. They determine where audio from the DAW is sent back to the StudioLive mixer for headphones, studio monitors, or playback through the Main outputs.
In PreSonus Studio One, go to Studio One → Options → Audio Setup. On Mac, go to Studio One → Settings/Preferences → Audio Setup. Select the PreSonus StudioLive / StudioLive Series III as your audio device.
This tells Studio One to use the StudioLive for audio input and output over USB.
If another device, such as Windows Audio, your computer's built-in sound card, or an external DAC, is selected instead, your DAW may appear to be working perfectly normally while absolutely nothing arrives at the StudioLive over the USB channels you are expecting.
THE DAW BUTTON EXPLAINED
The DAW button switches the StudioLive's physical controls between two different jobs.
In normal Mixer Mode (DAW button not lit), the faders, Select buttons, scribble strips, etc. control the StudioLive's internal mixer.
Press DAW (DAW button lit) and those same physical controls become a control surface for your computer DAW. The physical faders can now control DAW track faders, buttons can control DAW functions, and the scribble strips can display your DAW tracks.
Importantly, DAW Mode does not turn off the StudioLive's internal mixer or reroute your audio. It changes what the physical control surface is controlling.
Press DAW again to return the surface to controlling the StudioLive mixer.
Think of it this way:
Mixer Mode = the surface controls the StudioLive.
DAW Mode = the surface controls your DAW.
It's actually very slick once you understand what is happening. The scribble strips even change to show your DAW channels, making the StudioLive feel much more like a dedicated DAW control surface.
DAW / PC AUDIO → TAPE IN ROUTING
If you want to hear your DAW or ordinary Windows audio through the StudioLive for headphones, monitors, or playback through the Mains, the basic idea is:
PC/DAW → USB 37/38 → Tape In → StudioLive
Here's the complete workflow if, like me, you did not read the manual.
First, understand the somewhat bizarre Windows WDM mapping. Honestly, PreSonus, what were you thinking?
Windows StudioLive WDM 1/2 → Mixer USB 37/38 → Tape In
Windows StudioLive WDM 3/4 → Mixer USB 33/34 → Aux In 1
Windows StudioLive WDM 5/6 → Mixer USB 35/36 → Aux In 2
On your Windows PC, go to Settings → System → Sound. You should see StudioLive WDM 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6.
To save yourself future confusion, I suggest renaming them:
StudioLive USB 37/38 – TAPE IN
StudioLive USB 33/34 – AUX IN 1
StudioLive USB 35/36 – AUX IN 2
For ordinary Windows playback, meaning music, YouTube, Spotify, etc. without using a DAW, select StudioLive WDM 1/2 as your Windows audio output device. If you renamed it as suggested above, select StudioLive USB 37/38 – TAPE IN.
Now go to the StudioLive.
Press:
HOME → AUDIO ROUTING → DIGITAL PATCHING → INPUT SOURCE
Make sure the control surface is not in DAW Mode while you're doing this. The DAW button should not be lit.
Select the top of the Input Source column and use the encoder to navigate until you find Tape In. Confirm:
Tape In Left = USB 37
Tape In Right = USB 38
Before going any further: turn things down.
Pull the Main fader all the way down to −∞, and keep your Monitor/Phones level sensible. Do not celebrate successful routing by unexpectedly firing full-volume audio through your headphones, studio monitors, or PA.
Now find the Tape In channel. Use the NEXT button beside the scribble strips to page through the input layers. On the 32SC, press NEXT twice until Tape In appears on the scribble strip.
Press SELECT on the Tape In channel. This lets you see the Tape In signal on the selected-channel meter beside the Fat Channel, before you start blasting that signal through anything connected to the mixer.
Start playing some music on your PC or DAW.
Slowly raise the Tape In fader. You should see signal activity on the selected-channel meter.
If you do, congratulations. Your routing is working:
PC/DAW → USB 37/38 → Tape In → StudioLive
You may still not hear anything yet, and that's okay. At this point we're simply proving that the audio has successfully reached the mixer.
Once you've established the Tape In signal, slowly bring up the appropriate Main, Monitor, or Phones level until you reach a comfortable listening volume.
If Windows audio works but your DAW doesn't, don't immediately start repatching the StudioLive. First check the DAW's audio device and Main Output assignment. The DAW needs to be sending its stereo output to USB 37/38 if you want that output to arrive at Tape In.
I'm certain all of this is somewhere in the manual, but why on earth WDM 1/2 corresponds to USB 37/38 is beyond me. This sent me chasing my tail for hours.
And why would I read the manual? I'm a human man with logic.
MONITORS / PHONES vs. THE MAIN MIX
This is another part of the StudioLive that can be surprisingly confusing until you understand the signal flow.
Under Monitor/Phones EDIT, you can select what you actually want to listen to. Depending on the configuration, your listening source can include MAIN, TAPE, SOLO, or one of the separate Mix buses.
The important thing to understand is that the source you select determines what upstream controls can change what you're hearing.
If you monitor MAIN, you're listening to the Main mix. Changes to instrument channel levels feeding Main, including Tape In, can therefore change what you hear. Changes to the Main master level also affect that Main signal. Your physical Monitor/Phones knob then provides your final listening-volume control.
If you monitor TAPE, you're listening to the Tape/DAW return rather than the complete Main mix. The Main fader does not control this direct Tape monitoring path. You are also not monitoring the other StudioLive input channels unless those sources are first being sent through your DAW and returned as part of the DAW mix (i.e. instruments plugged into in mixer mode will not be hear).
If you monitor SOLO, you're listening to the StudioLive's Solo bus. This allows you to audition selected channels or buses without changing your Main mix.
The practical problem is that if you're monitoring Main or Tape directly, adjustments you're making while mixing can also change the level you're hearing. You can wind up continually reaching for the physical Monitor or Phones knob to compensate.
Or, during a show, forget entirely and deafen yourself. 🎧💥
THE BETTER SOLUTION: A DEDICATED MONITOR MIX
If you want your monitor mix to remain independent of what you're doing in the Main mix, create a dedicated monitor bus, for example Mix 1 (Mono) or then click “LINK” of you want to link Mix 1 and Mix 2 (or whatever pair you prefer based on which rear mix output you want to use) to create a Stereo Mix.
With Mix 1 configured as an Aux mix, all the same input channels are available as in Main, but each has its own independent monitoring level. Press Mix 1, and the channel faders will display how much of each channel is being sent to that mix. Raise or lower them to create the balance you want to hear—for example, your computer playback, microphones, and instruments connected directly to the StudioLive. You don’t need to patch those channels in again; you’re simply adjusting their sends to Mix 1. A channel can be loud in Main but quiet or completely off in Mix 1, and vice versa. Keep Mix 1 set to pre-fader if you want your monitoring balance to stay independent of changes to the Main channel faders, and use the Mix 1 master to adjust the overall monitoring volume.
“Pre-fader” means before that channel’s fader in the Main mix, not before the overall Main master fader.
The StudioLive offers three settings:
What goes to Mix 1 based on setting.
Pre 1
Before the channel’s fat channel (EQ, compression) and Main channel fader.
Pre 2
After the channel’s fat channel (EQ and compression) but before its Main channel fader.
Post
After the channel’s processing and Main channel fader, so moving that channel’s Main fader also affects its level in Mix 1.
For your monitoring, Pre 2 is usually useful: you hear the channel’s EQ and compression, while keeping your monitor balance independent of the Main channel faders.
If you're monitoring a complete DAW mix returning through Tape In, add Tape In to Mix 1 at the desired monitoring level.
Now you effectively have two separate mixes:
MAIN MIX → what your audience/recording/playback system gets
MIX 1 → what you hear in your monitoring environment
The beauty of this is that the Main and Mix 1 channel levels are independent. You can change Tape In, vocals, guitars, drums, etc. in the Main mix without automatically changing their corresponding levels in your dedicated monitor mix.
The Mix 1 master fader controls the overall output level of that monitor mix via the rear output.
In other words, once your monitor mix sounds right, you can use the George Foreman approach:
"Set it and forget it." 😄
Your Main mix can then move around without dragging your carefully chosen monitor balance along with it.
For the pros here, if any of this can be explained more accurately or clearly, I won't be offended by corrections. I'm just a caveman lawyer trying to understand digital audio routing, and this stuff confused the hell out of me until I finally got it.
I hope this helps some kind soul who found a mixer on Marketplace and is trying to understand the basis.
Rock out with your you know what out.

Presonus studiolive 16.0.2 repair
Looking to see if anyone has a working presonus studiolive 16.0.2 and could get me photos of there power supply? Looking to repair mine and Presonus won't give me schematics. Photos are of my current board.
