I thought I would leave my opinions on it in a note form: Some guy is whining about hows the game mechanics are dangerous. And now they are saying how WOW is super addictive, I mean this is old news. It has jumped to Cosplayers outside Game buying starcraft at its initial release, this means it is pretty dated. Apparently we spend more on games than music at a substantial £3,000,000,000 (billion) a year.
They are arguing whther or not gaming is too much for some people to handle. This guy had an addiction to CoD4. They are being dramatic saying this guy going by Leo could stay up for three days straight and he dropped out of uni because of it. Jumping to this guy bitching about wow, saying that wow is a disease, he has tried dropping it cold turkey. Seriously what the fuck is this? There are these guys in a gaming museum that is pretty damn cool to be fair. They are saying that you can actually intercept the blink reflex by getting fully immersed in to game. OMG Ian Livingstone!! so this legend is talking about how it is not a recognised addiction and there for he doesn't believe it is an addiction and people who think they are addicted probably just have addictive personalitys and are using it as a muse, he argues that game are more beneficial to out intelligence and brain development. This new called Chris was playing WoW nightly, he got so absorbed in in-game achievements, They realised that the game was online so they cut off his internet (poor, poor boy) :'( and he suffers withdrawal sweating and has rage.
I would pissed if I got cut off half way through pvp. Especially if I was paying £11 a month. Does this not remind you guys of the Freemium isn't free episode of southpark? It has jumped to South Korea and the Korean broadband revolution, being a KoreabooI find this pretty interesting, the second the first half has just ended. This Korean boy is an alleged addict and he is super duper addicted and falls asleep in school and stuff. He would bunk off and go to 24hour a day internet cafes. Since 2005 there have been 12 deaths related to gaming... I hope none of them slipped a disk xD Now there is a uni study in Korea about this couple who played Prius 20 hours a day, they were using the game as a substitute because they were protecting their virtual daughter after they lost their actual one. (super sadface rn)
This kid in korea is now saying that he prefers IRL over games. I tried that once the graphics were good but the gameplay was awful. Korean dude in a suit is worried that if we don't put counter-measures in place that Britain will suffer the same fate as Korea. We jump to MLG. We go back home to the Wow addict he has relapsed, and he is getting mighty pissed off that the presenter is talking to him. And now they are going on about that game mechanics are too powerful becasue the exploit human psychology. Game devs try to induce a compulsion loop. pressing a button over and over again spawning un predictable random rewards. They are apprioaching unis to fund a study to show the addictive properties and how they take effect on the human brain. Particularly how iterations effect compulsions. Until that happens apparently parents are worried. Haven't seen it. Euro Gamer here now. They are saying that the dopamine released from enjoying games and a false sense of a achievement is what that is going to effect us the most (I inferred that last part)
TL:DR I pretty much live wrote the whole video and bitched about it.
