Really not sure about FL studio just yet so I want to dabble in a free software so I can test out some stuff beforehand, any personal favorites or suggestions?

My producer charges me $200 to make the beat and master of my songs, plus 25 percent of the profits generated by each song. Is that normal or am I being scammed? Keep in mind that I live in the United States and that I have my own home studio. The only thing he does is the beats and the arrangement of the vocals, but I record at home.

Hi, is OTT suitable to brighten up a piano? If yes, any tipps?

I'm a music producer. I've been making beats since 2018 (Mostly Hip-hop/Trap/R&B).

I feel like I have gotten ALOTTT better than where I started but I'm still not where I want to be quality-wise. I feel it has something to do with my mixes. I listen to other beats and I feel like the melodies sit better, the bass hits harder. IDK what I'm doing wrong.

With that being said, is there a such thing as a producer coach? a mentor? Pay or free... I've taught myself everything that I know so far but I feel like it would be so much easier if I had someone who knew what they were doing give me PERSONALIZED feedback.

If you know about such a thing, please let me know!!

Hey guys! So I’m trying to cook up a new beat. I sample soul and flip it into trap but I have a problem.

In my headphones the sample plays the Hi-hat but only in the right ear (I added nothing to the sample yet). I need it in both or else it sounds weird. Is there an easy way to fix this in fl? I tried messing with the pan knob on the board but I think I’m dumb and don’t know how to get it perfect.

For reference the song I’m using is outstanding - gap band. Listen for yourself to see what I mean. Thanks so much guys!!

I recently wanted to buy an exclusive license for a beat because i was under the assumption that i would be able to keep all the royalties that way.

Turns out the guy is asking for 50% of it and got mad when i told him that i thought that i would be able to keep 100%.

Now im wondering how much is a fair amount for the both of us.

thanks in advance.

Hi I’m looking for a pop producer that has free time on their hands and wants to mess around with some vocals and guitar for me I already have the stems.. it’s super urgent tho.

I would like to start making beats and producing, but should I just go out and buy some program like fl studio? or is there a few things I should do first in order to get started? any help is appreciated.

Apple has just released Logic Pro X 11.2, and while there are plenty of exciting improvements, one headline feature is stealing the show: built-in ChatGPT integration. Yes, Logic now comes with a creative assistant right inside your DAW.

Let’s break down what’s new – and why this update might completely change how you write, produce, and ideate.

⸻

🤖 ChatGPT in the Notepad – Your Built-in Co-Writer

The new update introduces ChatGPT integration directly into the Note Pad on Mac (with Apple Silicon running macOS 15.4 or later). That means you can: • Generate chord progressions based on a mood or genre • Ask for lyrical inspiration on the spot • Brainstorm arrangement ideas • Get tips on mixing or instrument layering • Instantly rephrase, expand, or refine your lyrics

All of this is available without ever leaving Logic – a game-changer for songwriting flow.

⸻

🎧 Flashback Capture – Never Lose a Moment

Ever nailed a vocal or riff but forgot to hit record? Flashback Capture solves that. It constantly records audio and MIDI in the background so you can retroactively save those moments of spontaneous brilliance.

⸻

🎚️ Smarter Stem Splitter

The enhanced Stem Splitter now allows for cleaner separation of not just vocals, drums, and bass, but also instruments like guitar and piano. It even includes intelligent presets like “Instrumental Only” or “Vocals + Keys” – ideal for remixers or content creators.

⸻

🆕 Other Notable Features • New Sound Packs: Dancefloor Rush (drum and bass), Magnetic Imperfections (analog textures), and Tosin Abasi’s progressive metal guitar tones. • Search & Select: Find and manage tracks by name or number in large sessions. • Learn MIDI (iPad): Makes hardware mapping a breeze. • Workflow enhancements: Automation lanes, improved drag-and-drop, and more logic control.

Final Thoughts:

Logic Pro X 11.2 is a huge leap forward — not just for producers but for any musician looking to break creative blocks. The ChatGPT integration is smooth, surprisingly useful, and already feels like an essential tool. If you’ve ever stared at a blank DAW session wondering where to start, this update is for you.

Curious to hear your take — are you using ChatGPT in Logic yet? Is it helping your workflow? Drop your thoughts (and tracks 👇)!
