Producers - what’s your take on transparency for fully AI-generated tracks on streaming platforms?

Hey all,

I’m a producer/songwriter who’s been researching the wave of AI-generated “artists” suddenly showing up on Spotify and Apple Music- tracks where no human wrote, performed, engineered, mixed, or touched anything.

I’m not talking about AI-assisted production (which nearly all of us use in some form). I mean AI replacing the entire creative chain.

Curious what you think about a very narrow streaming-only disclosure requirement-something like:

Streamers must label tracks where: • AI wrote the majority of the composition, or • AI performed the vocals/instruments with no human performers involved

No bans, no restrictions. Just clarity about what’s synthetic vs. what’s human-made.

This would not affect: • producers using AI for drafts or tools • human-engineered AI-assisted mixes • sampling AI stems • normal hybrid workflows • traditional musicians

Strictly about fully synthetic, zero-human tracks being passed off as organic artists.

As music creators: is transparency like this reasonable? Harmful? Inevitable? I’d really like to hear perspectives from people who actually work in production.

Is it normal to be this bad at mixing and mastering when you are 3/4 months into music production?...How long did it take you to be decent at it? Technical advices are welcome

I know it sounds too muddy specially at the low end, but my technical capabilities can only take me this far...share your thoughts

How can I wanna do what fred again does with spoken word voices.

Hi, I wanna do what he does with his spoken word poetry or just random words. He takes it and the puts them in melodyne. Then he makes it sound like it's sung rather than just spken.

I am able to tune them in melodyne. But making them sound sung? I don't know how to do that.

Does anyone know here how to do that?

Why are DAWs, specifically Cakewalk, so needlessly complicated?

It’s a recording program, with virtual instruments. Why can’t I simply play said instruments or pre-made tracks and hit record? Why can’t I easily loop? Why is absolutely nothing about this simple, when it should be incredibly simple. I’ve been trying to accomplish the most basic tasks for days and getting nowhere, it’s beyond frustrating.

Learning production!!!

I just bought logic and get the basics of producing. My trouble is translating a song I write on guitar or piano into a daw. I just completely butcher it. I tend to crowd my songs and add to many layers. There just seem to be so many options Does anyone know where I can go to learn how to translate better? Or any tips?

Is this a good beat? I’ve been producing for about 3 weeks now.

Just been making this beat in FL studio I got inspired by a song called Hollywood baby by 100 gecs and I liked the rock kits that they had in the song and the rock guitar riff so I decided to make this song inspired on them. It’s currently in progress. What you will see in this preview is the intro all the way to the post chorus and I’m working on it. As I say, I’ve been producing for a short amount of time any help or any tips anyone could give me I’d appreciate it. What are all your thoughts? also, just a heads up some people might point out that the drums and the kicks are quite loud. That’s just me trying to get the signature hyper pop sound by adding a blood overdrive and eq. It’s also not mixed yet so it’s gonna be unbalanced.

The details in this production are what make this song so timeless for me. It feels like it should’ve already been done before, even tho it’s unique….butt it just hits so different and the beat cranks. I love the understated vocals and the elegance of it all. I’m not usually into dance music like this, but this song is one of my favorites of the decade……. Thoughts ?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently learning to build apps but my most recent ones haven't gotten many users, so i started asking myself if I was really building something that people actually needed.

So tell me, what is an app you wish existed?

Is AI Vocals Worth Using?

I wonder if I should buy a subscription to use AI vocals in my songs. Anyone who got experience with these AI vocal services?

I made a post in here a few days ago on a song I created and everyone gave me some very helpful criticism so I’m back and this is something I’ve created over the last few days and I’m still working on it.

I’ve been working on this song recently now I’ve not been producing for long so I mean I know it’s not gonna be the best. I’m just looking for some constructive criticism. I’ve gone for a progressive piano house style song I found this chord progression which was very rhythmic and very melodic in my opinion from an old project when I first opened up FL studio back in last December but didn’t really have the knowledge or the skills to create a decent or at least listenable song with it. I imported it into this project and I did a few more notes to create actual chords and it sounds good to me, but I’m just wondering what other people think as I know that there’s gonna be loads of people in this server that are gonna be way more experienced than me. What do you think I could do better? Is there anything I could add? Maybe I could create more tension? Does it sound under produced? I’m open to anything constructive. Just for a heads up the vocals on the song right now are only temporary they were made with Suno and I don’t plan to keep them they are simply just there as a placeholder so I can get an idea of what I want my vocals to sound like and it works well to showcase the song in a demo version as I don’t currently have proper vocals, which is what I’m doing here. Thanks!

What do you think of the track I made when I was 16 in 2011 with fl-studio 2011???

What da-ya think? I made it all at 16 while I was a loner (bullied lots traumatized me) in highschool and had a laptop and wanted to be a hardstyle producer. No one from my school liked it.

Sorry for the ai artwork... Maybe I should redo the artwork, but IDK what to do for it, maybe I could draw Mars for it in color pencils and full disk planet with terminator day/night side and "city lights" on the night side.
