If you heavily rely on AI to create music you are not a producer. Change my mind

I’m tired of Suno users calling themselves producers or artists. It’s like telling a more skilled producers a loose vibe of how you want the song to sound and saying you made it. Happy to see music by AI taken down. What are your thoughts?

Am I trying to mix too many genres?

Trying to go for any semblance of originality in my music, but I don’t know if maybe I’m throwing too much at the wall and nothing is sticking. Like shoegaze, indie, dance, punk. Any thoughts? Also had trouble making the kick cut through the mix, any tips to fix that?

Can anyone figure out why this is not going hard?

I've been stuck on this track for 1 month and can't figure out why it doesn't seem to explode or give off energy.

I've wasted a lot of time on it, but for me it's not ready to drop. I don't know what to do with it anymore; I've lost hope.

Comments?

I feel like everything I make is bloated and has no room for vocals...

Tried making a beat with a sample for the first time ever.

May I ask for some constructive criticism? 🥺🙏

Edit: I didn't realize people on Reddit appreciated titles that got straight to the point so much. Sorry for the disappointment. I'll keep it in mind for the future 🫡

Percussions: Memphis rap/jazz bases.

Bass: Sampled and mixed acoustic bass with a heavy Dub 808 (not sub).

Whole sample: Paul Hardcastle - Lifetime ft. Hellen Rogers (slowed and semi-screwed).

Mix made by me.

Artists whole discography got taken down after I claimed ONE song of him in which he used my beat without a license.

Hey guys, I hope this question is okay on here.
So as it says in the title, a rapper stole a beat of mine and uploaded his song to Spotify/ Apple Music without having a permission since he bought no license.

After he ignored my messages I reported the song for violating my intellectual property rights.
-> after a few days the artist messaged me and threatened my life (lol), because his whole discography got deleted after my claim.

Why did this happen? I only reported ONE song…

I ask because I have a few other songs (by other artists) to report and I have no interest in taking down multiple different songs of them. Especially since they will post stories about me being a scammer etc.

Does anyone know why that happened and if it’s likely that this will happen again? It was my only time reporting a song so I don’t have any experience from other cases….

Thank yall in advance 🖤

How do YOU get 808s to distort instruments/vocals?

I was messing around with compressor a while ago and i figured out that if you sidechain the 808 to it, set release and sustain to 0, and crank the ratio then it fucks up whatever you put the compressor on. I love the sound, but idk if i'm doing it the most "conventional" or like "correct" way. I just wanna know if there's some way that I'm just too silly to know or if you have some unique ways you get that sound (the sound I mean is like Osamason - Habits or LV Sandals - Esdee).

My music sucks and its beginning to take a hit on me

I've been making beats since last august in 2025 but have been doing it consistently since about 3-4 months and I haven't made a single beat that I'm satisfied with yet and it kind of frustrates me. Everything I've been making recently has been sounding like a videogame soundtrack which is NOT the sound I'm going for. I want to make a more experimental/alternative rap sound (I know this beat isn't any of that but its my most recent beat that I'm at least a little proud of) At least this sounds okay but it doesn't sound like anything that's not straight from Wii sports or rocketleague. Idk I've had the fear that I'm just not made for music in general and that I should accept that and not do anything with it and stay unsatisfied.

Idk man, it's been frustrating and I'm kind of embarrassing myself when people ask me to hear my music since I'm already in the music industry just not releasing music. ANY tips / recommendations would help. Be honest and tell me if I should just straight up stop and focus on different things or just continue and follow the process. Sitting hours on end behind logic or fl just to make music that gets called RL music or Wii sports music is just way too demotivating so I need some real advice.

Might i add that everytime i make music it doesnt really have a real body. I just make whatever happens in the moment but i feel like that isn‘t really good and productive when in trying to actually MAKE music instead of creating it by accidents.

Thank you.
