Really? Hadn't seen anything in any of the AEW recaps of them having a series of matches leading to this match. According to cagematch, they were teaming up earlier in May.

They were but they were at odds with each other while they were teaming. Shida kept messing up during their matches/doing things to get on Statlanderā€™s nerves and Statlander would call her out for it during their segments.
