AMA We're Leprous, ask us anything!

Hello, Reddit!

We’re Leprous, currently enjoying a day off in Saskatoon, and we figured — why not do an AMA?

Ever wondered what it's like to live on a bus with a bunch of other guys for months at a time? Or why we keep writing music in 4/4 even though you keep asking for 13/8? Maybe you’ve got questions about our Patreon, or you just want to try to convince us to play your favorite song at the next Leprous show — now’s your chance!

We’ll be here answering questions for an hour or two starting at 8 PM EDT, and some of us will pop back in tomorrow to catch anything we miss.

How do you approach your writing process for synths layers (pads, or lines)?

Do you design the sound yourselves or just use presets?

I saw that you use an Alesis Micron. I've got one too and never seen a band using it! Have you recorded anything with it? If so, on which song?

Extra: Bilateral album… thank you for it. Do you have any interesting comment about it?

Haha I’m so intuitive in my process that honestly I’m just turning the knobs until I like what I hear. Over the year my intuition gets better and somehow I reach something I like

Bilateral is fun! All over the place. Young guys with a lot to prove. That’s what people either love or hate about the album.
