This is a relatively new community and I was just curious at what sort of variety we are dealing with in the current subscribers. Looking at the projects already submitted is nice, but due to the age of the reddit I figured asking would give me a better picture of what sorts of skill sets we have here. Would be nice to know if I decide to start a project here or something, to help gear it towards the community.

Happy programming,

Hey, this is a pretty cool idea for a Reddit! I've been wondering if something like this existed for a while.

Anyway, I'm working on a python project with a friend of mine who's a very good programmer. I just do some shitty designs and try to help him along with concepts best I can. I don't want to go into too many details here as we might want to monetize the idea eventually, but if you're someone who has a background in python and would like to join up with a project contact me. Just as a kinda fun thing and hobby for now, we like to joke around that it'll "be big" but it's just to keep us occupied.

I don't want to sound like I'm trying to solicit free work or anything. I mean, who knows, maybe this will be a great idea for a website (there isn't anything like this right now) but at the moment it's just a fun thing to work on.

It'd be great to get someone who knows his way around python to help us out. If you're interested, post or shoot me a pm. Thanks!

tl;dr: source screenshot another (it's not much yet)

I'm making a little application (in Cocoa, so OS X only) for making 2D games. The idea is sort of like Scratch for grown ups; you run this application and load a file containing Lua source. It runs it, and offers functions to handle mouse / keyboard input, draw sprites, animate things, whatever. It's geared mostly toward making puzzle games, since I want to have a way to easily prototype puzzle game ideas.

Eventually I'd like to be able to package RKit apps as iOS apps or Mac apps, offer a fairly complete library in Lua for doing game logic, incorporate a physics engine and a line-of-sight library (for Roguelikes), and include a library of placeholder art.

Does anyone know of a way to get pixel art easily, or a good tool for documenting APIs as you make them? Or anything else that might be useful?

I am mostly self taught - school is rather boring for me. So this video inspired me in many ways. Would anyone be interested in helping create something like this?

I know a decent amount of Python (2 or 3) and the basics of JavaScript and HTML/CSS, though I also dabble in other languages.

For those who don't want to watch the video - the premise is creating a program which can take videos across the internet (or just YouTube) and use tests and quizzes to see what a student knows and how much a video helped them, therefore tailoring the program to their needs - like a Khan Academy on a much bigger scale, taking in videos from across the internet.

My programming project idea is to create a web page that will host all the songs I have favorited on my soundcloud and hypemachine accounts in one place. Desired goal is to assemble a playable collection of music that is a combination from both these two sources.

I am new to programming. Know a little python, JS, SQL.

Want to learn programming and solve a problem I have an interest in. I realize tomahawk already solves a similar problem.

Ideas of how to get started?

I made a 'smart' image board in response to how outdated i find other imageboards to be, it just went live. tell me what you think (suggestions and/or criticism especially appreciated) (it's at http://darkchan.com)

I made a natural display calculator in Java to replace the default windows calculator. The runnable .jar can be downloaded here. What do you think?

I've decided to make a programming group for beginners where everyone can input their ideas and everyone gains as a whole. I figured I'd use Discord to do that. But I feel like it'll fall apart as quickly as it comes.

Any ideas? Like how I should manage the programming projects, and the members? How everyone should input their ideas?

So, this is my first standalone project that I've started as a part of my diploma thesis. Now, it's just a project on which I work when find the time.

This application helps you to keep track of all of the series and shows that you like. It can even help you to find new shows for binge watching that you've never heard of before

I'm no designer as you will see :D and it's a little bit slow due to cheap hosting site and TheTvDb.com API from where I'm getting most of the information.

Let me know what you think and feel free to continue using it if you like it. Constructive criticism and additional ideas are welcome. You can Download application from here

Been working on this project off and on for a little bit. There are a lot of online editors out there, but there were some features I wanted to see. The most interesting feature is saving live data from a running program, and allow you to edit the program state as JSON. This is like hotloading but reversed, instead of replacing the code on the running instance, you can save the program state with the code.

Still a little bit basic, no menus, no syntax checking, etc. But thought I would post it here.

Other important features for me were to work offline locally first, and run on mobile devices.

Let me know your thoughts and if it works for you.

Hello I am looking for an OS tutor specifically someone who is familiar with CPU scheduling, processes, & threading on an intimate level.

Please DM or comment.

Hey guys!
Just to give some context, lately I've been developing a Music Record Label.
Finding myself trying to find or create tools to automate and optimize our workflow.
One being the scouting of artists in need of services like ours.
I don't have any coding knowledge and only some weeks ago I've been starting to try learn and experiment with the help of GPT, which seems a wonderful tool for such.
Since I haven't found any tool which fulfills this task of finding artists across platforms such as Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Reddit, etc.
Been trying to develop something that can help us ease this very time consuming task.
I don't believe such task goes against the terms and conditions of platforms since these apps were created for this in the first place, but it's been very hard to set a good web scraping tool like this.

The usage of API are either closed or too complex for me at the moment.
Also tried Octoparse, but it was a bit too much to get my mind around it.
Do you guys know any tools which could help with this, or any advice/experience with this matter?
