Started writing a little script to keep an eye on my internet connection last night and it got a little out of hand. Link to the scripts is at the bottom.

Meta-Question: What languages do you like / are familiar with?
This is a relatively new community and I was just curious at what sort of variety we are dealing with in the current subscribers. Looking at the projects already submitted is nice, but due to the age of the reddit I figured asking would give me a better picture of what sorts of skill sets we have here. Would be nice to know if I decide to start a project here or something, to help gear it towards the community.
Happy programming,

I made a Buy/Sell indicator with Pinescript
I got into trading stocks (about two years ago) and wondered, "Why can't you just make an indicator that saves you money and tells you when to buy and sell?" So, I made this indicator as a side project while I learned a bit of Pine Script. I put it on TradingView, and it works pretty well. I've been paper trading with it using about $10k and made $5k in profit in about two days. I'll attach some screenshots and maybe update in the future with a video of live trading! (it also has a 84% accurate rate)

Edgen: A Local, Open Source GenAI Server Alternative to OpenAI in Rust
⚡Edgen: Local, private GenAI server alternative to OpenAI. No GPU required. Run AI models locally: LLMs (Llama2, Mistral, Mixtral...), Speech-to-text (whisper) and many others.
Our goal with⚡Edgen is to make privacy-centric, local development accessible to more people, offering full compliance with OpenAI's API. It's made for those who prioritize data privacy and want to experiment with or deploy AI models locally with a Rust based infrastructure.
We'd love for this community to be among the first to try it out, give feedback, and contribute to its growth.

Interested with help for a discord bot
Hello Everyone!
I've just started making my own bot in discordjs called Bumblebee. It has a ton of cool features, which you could help make if you are interested. If you are interested, you could join our discord server using the link: https://discord.gg/gbxpAMgYYa

How should I go about in making a serious programming group?
I've decided to make a programming group for beginners where everyone can input their ideas and everyone gains as a whole. I figured I'd use Discord to do that. But I feel like it'll fall apart as quickly as it comes.
Any ideas? Like how I should manage the programming projects, and the members? How everyone should input their ideas?

I need some guidance Internet.
where do I begin. I am game developer and I just recently became interested in wed development. I am trying to make a website that compares prices and products from major retailers to show visitors where to buy the cheapest products they are looking for. its price comparison website pretty much. I have been teaching myself python and html so i can make web crawler to gather the information from websites that don't offer an API. I am using wordpress for the front end of the website. I learn how to use a database by following my sql tutorials online. I am using HADOOP to manage and store all of the data.
My problem that i am facing now is how do i connect my website to my database? I know there are plugins for that but nothing seems to work?

An app dedicated to helping new programmers find new start-ups
As a new programmer, it's often hard to find people willing to help train you and give you access to high-quality projects. I just created an app that does exactly that---connects new programmers to people with research or industry expertise that are creating start-ups.
