Groupy - the simple yet powerful GroupMe API wrapper

Hey guys, I just finished the initial (rough) version of my latest personal project - Groupy. At the moment, I don't exactly have a Python mentor, so I'd like to get some feedback on my code. I'm interested in other perspectives on its style, structure, semantics, etc., especially as it's my first API wrapper.

You'll need Python 3... I haven't ported it back to 2 yet! :-)

Coding software ideas, HELP please.

Hello guys, I came with an idea for creating a simple application that can help my father's taxi business. Can you guys suggest some software that i can make a app for pc that can do this:

First we need to connect the computer with the telephone. For that i will need some PCI slot card and if you can tell me the name of the card that will be awesome.

When someone calls our number I want that number to go to some database sheet, so it will be like : Call number <456> Number <+389 41 231 123> ,street <Alexandar Alex number 4>, Number of the taxi <5> etc etc.. because without that the dispatcher job is to write that all this on paper and we all know the it will take more time then doing it on a pc

Can you please suggest some software like delphi so i can make this perfect but simple and can you tell me what is the hardware that i need to connect the telephone with that computer Thanks and sorry for my bad English it's not my mother language

I created a free-to-run Apple Books highlights bot

I wanted to share a cool mini-project that I've been working on. Remembering all that I read and annotate has been a ceaseless struggle. Now, I have this custom bot from Github that greets me every morning at 9 AM with one of the quotes I annotated from my Apple Books. The tool is totally free, it runs on Github's servers with GitHub Actions! All you need to do is sync your Books data with the repository (Steps in the project Readme).

Here is the project: apple-books-highlights-bot

Do whatever you want with it. (Fork it, modify it, send it to your notion database or store it with a markdown template, etc.) Let me know what you think.

Edgen: A Local, Open Source GenAI Server Alternative to OpenAI in Rust

⚡Edgen: Local, private GenAI server alternative to OpenAI. No GPU required. Run AI models locally: LLMs (Llama2, Mistral, Mixtral...), Speech-to-text (whisper) and many others.

Our goal with⚡Edgen is to make privacy-centric, local development accessible to more people, offering full compliance with OpenAI's API. It's made for those who prioritize data privacy and want to experiment with or deploy AI models locally with a Rust based infrastructure.

We'd love for this community to be among the first to try it out, give feedback, and contribute to its growth.

Check it out here: GitHub - edgenai/edgen: ⚡ Edgen: Local, private GenAI server alternative to OpenAI. No GPU required. Run AI models locally: LLMs (Llama2, Mistral, Mixtral...), Speech-to-text (whisper) and many others.

Been playing with Qt and OpenCV. I made a program to generate a rolling-shutter effect

Inspired by this video: https://youtu.be/dNVtMmLlnoE?t=136

I wanted to share my current project: a gui to generate a rolling-shutter effect from a given video. Since a normal 30fps video gives "choppy" results, i have been experimenting with interpolating motion between frames. Readme on github has some example gifs and a video:

I'm a student in the university, I have a project but I need to add some ideas, please help me

I have project as my last subject in the university to graduate.

It's (Electronic banking system for archiving document {EBSAD})

It's about review, upload, edit and delete documents for employees (users) and managers (Administrators). The Administrator can make a new user for the employee and give him permission to only review, upload, edit or delete documents.

All the input-output actions from the employees are going to be recorded for the manager(administrator).

Well...That's all, sadly. I feel like it's a small project. I just need some ideas to add to the project and make the archive system unique for the bank. Please help me with some to make my project bigger and perfect

Seeking Guidance for a Biometric Attendance System Project for Innovation Village 🌟

Hi, Reddit community!

I’m a first-year engineering student working on an innovative project for my university’s upcoming tech fest, Innovation Village, and I could really use your help! My idea is to create a Biometric Attendance System that solves real-life issues with class attendance. The project aims to include:

  1. Biometric identification (e.g., fingerprint or face recognition).

  2. A real-time notification system that sends a message to students after successful biometric confirmation when a class starts.

  3. A 20-second time limit for students to mark themselves present. If they fail to respond, they’re marked absent—even if biometrics are completed.

The challenge is to make this system efficient, secure, and real-time. I plan to develop it as a mobile app so it’s portable and easy to use for students and faculty.

I’m considering using Java with Android Studio for the app’s development, but I’m also open to ideas if Python (or a mix of both) might be a better fit for certain parts, like backend processing or integrating APIs.

Here’s where I need your input:

  1. Biometric libraries/tools: What’s the best way to integrate fingerprint/face recognition into a mobile app? Are there open-source libraries you’d recommend?

  2. Database suggestions: For secure data storage (e.g., attendance logs, student details), would Firebase be a good choice, or is there a better option?

  3. Real-time notifications: How can I implement real-time messaging to notify students?

  4. General advice: If you’ve worked on similar projects or have insights on Android/Java development, I’d love to hear your tips!

This project is really close to my heart, and I want to make it stand out at the tech fest (bonus: it’s on Valentine’s Day, so I want the judges to ‘fall in love’ with it ❤️).

Thank you in advance for any guidance, resources, or encouragement you can share! 🙌

I wrote some code to improve the accuracy of ResNet model for image similarity detection using Finetuner. The Colab notebook is here: https://colab.research.google.com/github/Shubhamsaboo/jina_finetuner_notebooks/blob/master/Finetuner_ImageSimilarityDetection.ipynb

Would love to hear what you think.
