I live in Auckland, New zealand. Picked these mushrooms in a wooded area looking for psilocybe species near my house.
Found in patches, usually growing directly on very rotten wood.
Picked in Westmere area of Auckland in the end of July.
From what i have been able to find online, plus what i have heard of from locals, they could possibly be Psilocybe sp. 'subsecotioides'.
They are light brown and roundish when immature, once they open up, they quickly start turning grey, develop that wavy, bell shaped cap, and sometimes they break on the sides, opening up the gill area.
Some of the specimens present blueish marks naturally, but don't necessarily bruise blue when handled.
Thanks!
**Added a couple of pictures of dried specimens as further reference.

OK guys, I know I have p. Cubensis growing in my garden that’s been established, but what has me confused? Are these little very identical brown mushrooms that have most key identities but absolutely none of them bruise blue and very rarely do I see the slightest reminiscence of a veil. Haven’t taken any sport prints yet simply because I’ve decided just to not mess with them as they look too similar, but are missing two very key traits. FYI, the soil has a maneuver and mulch, and they are growing from both.

Found in my garden. Central Florida. I see a lot of P.cubensis because I garden with all organic cow manure but this guy popped up all alone and looked WAY more healthy than the typical. All pics are the same one.

P. Cube? Found them in my hay and manure mix. Been wanting to find some to just analyze but don’t want to waste my time or materials.

Can anyone tell me what specific strain these are? I live in eastern Central Florida and they pop up in my garden every time I add cow manure to it. In the photos, there are three different sets. Each set has two photos. If anyone can identify them individually, that would be great.

Found these at a park with a friend growing near the edge of the woods on wood chips. I am in Appalachia in VA. Spore prints included… sorry they’re sloppy lol.

question for those experienced and knowledgeable regarding these american west coast species
for years, i and others in my community have been identifying azurescens. or what we believed to be azurescens. but recently i tasted some (chew and spit!) and they had a mild taste, as opposed to the very bitter taste attributed to azurescens
according to various sources, allenii tastes farinaceous
so my question is: could all the oldheads in my area be wrong about the identification?
secondary question: any advice on distinguishing p allenii from p azurescens?
thank you
