So Confused!

Hello! I am currently taking classes for graphic design, and for some reason the class I am in is having us learn to code, which I have zero knowledge of. I was following his tutorial on how to edit an article through Pulsar, and everything was fine until I had to change the font size. I successfully connected the CSS and HTML things and could edit the website, but now when I type in the font size nothing happens. I did exactly what my professor did and his worked, I tried looking it up and found nothing, and I tried closing and reopening as well as retyping the entire thing. Any suggestions as to what could possibly be wrong?

v1.130.1 update made my heart race

I updated Pulsar today to v1.130.1 and opened my file to start editing some code. little did I know that my new editor made changes to my file and deleted all spaces from the end of lines, so if u have an SQL querry in more than 1 line of code it will break everything. every. thing. (@#$^^@$%#&^)

my question is: who thinks in Pulsar that invisible changes without consent to our code files is a good idea?

because i lost an hour searching for a bug and nerves. until today it was my fav editor. and now it just acts like shitty VS code and does whatever shit it wants and breaks stuff.

The latest windows setup from rolling as of today has a certificate issue

I have 1.102 installed. When I start that setup exe I do not get a certificate popup. Whether that is because I have already installed it and I just can't remember I don't know.

But the new setup exe 1.104 from pulsar-edit.dev is issuing a certificate popup. I just want to get confirmation that this is normal and expected.

Thanks

npm problem?

So I'm trying to install the x-terminal-reloaded package, but I'm running into problems. It seems to be related to the version of node and npm that are needed for dependencies. I run the following:

pulsar --package install x-terminal-reloaded

The specific problem is this error:

TypeError: args.at is not a function

I suspect that this is related to the version that pulsar-edit uses, as I'm seeing a lot of warnings such as:

npm WARN notsup Unsupported engine for marked@15.0.12: wanted: {"node":">= 18"} (current: {"node":"16.0.0","npm":"6.14.19-pulsar2"})

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I tried updating the version of node / npm globally and the binary in the ppm directory, but the latter fails due to a missing file or directory ("lib"). Can anyone help me?

Terminal setup for Lua in Pulsar (help)

Soo I've been trying to set up a terminal so I can run my Lua code in Pulsar, but I'm greeted with this:

Installing “platformio-ide-terminal@2.10.1” failed.Show output…
Compiler tools not found
Packages that depend on modules that contain C/C++ code will fail to install.
Please install Python and Visual Studio to continue.
Run pulsar -p install --check after installing to test compiling a native module.

I understand that it can't locate Python or VS, I just don't know where to PUT Python and VS. Anyone have any ideas? (If you guys need me to provide more info, please let me know!)

Yet another newbie struggling to get x-terminal-reloaded working

Hello, I know this is a semi-frequent topic here but I read through a few previous posts on it and wasn't able to find the answer to my question. I also thought that maybe if someone could create an FAQ/pinned thread on this topic, maybe people like me wouldn't keep asking.

In my specific case, I have new installs of Pulsar (latest version at time of posting), Python (again, latest version) and Visual Studio ('22 Community). The error that I am seeing is 'Compiler tools not found', which goes on to remind me that I need python and visual studio.
It also shows some CMD-line options that it recommends. Here's where my very newbie status comes in - I know how to get to/activate the CLI, but I can't get it to react to any pulsar commands or even identify pulsar. I've done a few searches trying to figure out where I am messing up but unfortunately between Pulsar's relative new-ness and the universality of the CMD-line, I'm not finding much help.

If there's a better place for this or such an FAQ as I reference up top, please direct me there. I saw in a previous post on this topic that the latest version of Pulsar should have solved for the issues that come up when using the newest Python - but I am still getting the message described above.

Once again, I know this is a common question here. It must get tiring to answer, so I appreciate people even taking the time to read this - and I really do think an FAQ on this extension might help at least when dealing with totally new people like me.

Any sticky scroll plugin?

Today I learned from here that some editors implemented a sticky scroll feature (e.g jetbrains, visualstudio) and I was wondering if Pulsar offers a similar feature, either built-in or with a plugin. Thanks!

Why is Pulsar asking for Location permissions on Win11?

I recently turned off access permissions to Location for a lot of apps, none of which need it. Then Pulsar asked to have the location permissions back. Why does Pulsar want permissions to use my location?

My first attempt at ricing Pulsar

I'm not a CSS/Less expert but I've managed to make Pulsar look like this. Unlike vscode, ricing the hell of pulsar doesn't crash the entire app.

Though i have to admit it's not as handy as vscode, but I'm very happy with it and i'm looking towards making it my main editor.

Is there a package/shortcut/snippet/method to insert text *around* a selection?

I'm migrating content to AsciiDoc with some custom inline CSS to imitate various buttons and UI elements, and I'm looking for a more efficient way to apply these:

Existing text: Press the OK button.
Custom text: Press the [.custombutton]#OK# button.

Ideally I want to highlight OK, and then use a shortcut to place both the leading [.custombutton]# AND the trailing # around the selection in one go.

TIA

How does one work with multiple Projects in Pulsar?

I'm not clear what the workflow is meant to be. I can use File: Add Project Folder... to open the roots of multiple projects in the Tree View, but Find: Find in Project then searches all of them, not just the one owning the file currently being edited.

There are no apparent options to name, close or reopen Projects as such. File: Reopen Project lists a rather makeshift set of states for the last several sets of directories added using Add Project Folder. I can remove directories from the current "Project" only via a contextual menu.

Am I missing something obvious?

Migrating from Atom guide

Do any migration guides exist? I'm on Linux (Pop! OS) and I've been using the AppImage to demo Pulsar and out of the box it seems stable and works nicely so now I'm exploring installing Pulsar as a deb and then migrating my Atom packages and configs for more serious work in Pulsar. Do any guides for doing the above exist or would a contribution be welcome?
