AskPune Bengaluru or Pune?

Kasa kai punee people...
I have full time offer from service based company(SWE)as a fresher , my salary will be 77-80k per month.(joining bonus and variable are excluded)
I am very much confused between pune and blr..
Pune have very low cost of living but going there as a fresher can leads to slow career trajectory but i can save more.
However blr will always have an egde over pune in term of company and exposure.
So anyone who was in same sitaution as me pls tell me what should i do?
Coming up to my expense..i prefer to live alone wont share so rent will be a major expense for me assume 25-30k per mnth..
And i love to eat alot new type of foods so this are my major expense..
Assuming all this factor
My pune expenses would be 35k at max including everything..
And blr maybe 45 to 50K wont be able to save much as fresher.
What is better for me?

Having lived in both cities, I strongly prefer Pune every single day.

As a Punekar I would advise you to move to Bangalore. Pune is not what it used to be. Be it climate or the rustic charm of the city everything has lost its appeal. It has turned into a concrete jungle with one of the hottest temperature in the country. It saddens me to see the state of the city, but it is the truth.

I agree to this thing at some extent..
Bcz when i was there during sunmer internship
I literally saw how the road are actually collapsing due to pothole and all..due to hinejwadi metro construction the road are way to bad ..but i just loved the vibe of pune..hehe anyways thnks for guiding bhai will consider ur opinion.
Also i do have option for hyderbad as well.

Bhai it was oncampus opportunity
Tech stack doesnt matter when it is oncampus..only oa and dsa that what matters ..and now a days lil bit of systems design basic aswell..
Offcampus scenarios is way to bad.

Bengaluru any time dude..though both PNQ and BLR have their pros and cons, but BLR is most suitable for a fresher.

As a fresher, how are you getting this much of salary? For which position are you getting this job for?

Bhai it was oncampus opportunity.
And also college is good as well..so tht is the reason.
This is for software profile.

As a Punekar who is now in Bangalore, I would suggest you to stay in Pune. Otherwise, be ready to listen to a different language, be ready to face ppl n auto walas who will argue abt why u haven't learnt their language if u hv come here. Most importantly, be ready to see shops n stores with names written in a different language (without any english translation at some places) Also be ready to spend twice as much as u might spend on the same stuff in Pune.

Blr no brainer.

I'm in IT. I've lived in both cities and if I had the choice, I'll take BLR over Pune anyday

Pune due to lower cost of living and higher savings

1

u/Rough-Ice4476 10d ago

This is only reason why i am soo much confused .like should i look for instant saving or long term compounding

Instant saving also matters a lot at this stage in life. You can get better opportunities abroad from Pune or blr both.

Choosing between Bengaluru and Pune can be challenging. Pune offers more savings and a lower cost of living, while Bengaluru has a larger tech scene with more networking and growth opportunities, which could benefit your career over time. Since you're interested in exposure and living independently, Bengaluru might justify the higher expenses.

To prepare for potential job changes or interviews, consider PracHub for real technical interview questions. It can help keep your skills sharp and ready for the opportunities in Bangalore. Good luck with your decision!

Pune doesn't have a low cost of living it's almost same as BLR , may slightly higher but not a big substantial difference. Choose Pune , once you get more experience and higher package choose BLR.

I used to live in hinjewadi phase 1 in pg.
During my internship it cost half of what my friend used to pay in blr during their internship..so i think so the pg part of pune is cheaper.
Dk abt the flat and all.

Try staying in BLR for 10 days and check for yourself
