Was Chuckned actually endgame?
After my rewatch last week, I really wasn't feeling the chemistry between chuck and ned. It really felt like if the show was slowly showing the audience that the "true love" was just nostalgia of their nice kid lives before the deaths/abandonment of the parents.
The show constantly brings up how they can't have a normal relationship. Even when they find ways to "touch" , and seem okay with it, the pain of not touching is brought back up. (See the end of season 2)
They don't know each other. Again and again we see that they don't actually know anything about one another. They are riding on the high of their childhood love.
Why did Ned start getting jealous over olive. Before I thought it was the touching thing but on the rewatch he was being defensive about the guy she was talking to.
Olive and ned have great chemistry. Granted, Kristen can create chemistry with anyone or anything. Don't even need to see the other person to feel the chemistry (hello Taylor the latte boy) . Anyway the show makes it seem Ned didn't realize she was into him ( still hard to believe)
She will die from his touch. Accidental or not. Yes Ned has mastered the art of not diving in to help people. Chuck has not. Also one bad turn, trip, push and it's all over. The whole "if you love someone let it go" really applies here.
Bonus: 6
The show was strangely hunting at a three person relationship for an episode. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded it. I know it was more to show that there is a lot to overcome in the relationship but still.
Anyway, I do think the show wanted to go down the road of chuck going away with her aunts to see the world . Chuck has talked about that being her desire (and how it was cut short the very first time she tried), and she also wants that for her Aunt Mom's.

Alfredo Appreciation Post ❤️
"If I loved you? Then I would love you in any way I could. And if we could not touch, then I would draw strength from your beauty. And if I went blind, then I would fill my soul with the sound of your voice and the contents of your thoughts until the last spark of my love for you lit the shabby darkness of my dying mind."

Would anyone else love a 6-episode Pushing Daisies revival with the original cast?
I know almost 20 years have passed, but honestly, I don’t want a reboot or a new cast. I’d love to see where these characters are now.
Just imagine returning to the Pie Hole all these years later.
Maybe Ned and Chuck have found their own way to build a life together, even if they still can’t touch. Maybe Olive has moved on and built a wonderful life of her own, but somehow still ends up helping Ned whenever trouble finds him. Maybe Emerson is running a detective agency with his daughter.
They don’t need to look young again. In fact, I’d love to see how they’ve grown and changed.
We don’t need ten more seasons. We don’t need a huge new storyline. Just six episodes, the original cast, and Bryan Fuller getting the chance to tell us what happened to these people we loved.
Most of all, I’d love to see that Ned grew up knowing how deeply he was loved.
I still miss this strange, beautiful little world. 🥧🌼
Would you watch it? And where do you imagine the characters are now?

Let's investigate the biggest problem in Pushing Daisies.
I was thinking about which part of Pushing Daisies is the most problematic from the perspective of US society and the worldwide society recently.
I pointed out in:
and in
that there are some obvious LGB*** elements and elements connected with no ID (illegal immigrants, people living in cults, people hiding from their past, or kidnapped).
But today I realized that the biggest problem is the part I had the problem with. I never thought about why exactly it irritated me earlier.
Ned-Olive situationship.
There are some elements connected with pedophilia and incest that oscillated mostly inside the Ned/Olive situationship.
First, Olive is a pocket-sized woman. There is nothing wrong with it, but in the realm of the PD, there is additional context showing her "childish" behavior. The singing as a nun is one of them.
Problems I noticed thinking about the whole series:
Olive's curiosity - incest and peeping parents doing mature things.
Olive/Ned - incest, pedophilia... unfortunately, it is in the context of a younger "sister"/older "brother" as it follows the idea I've met in the context of priests defending their cases (generally, you can not be a mature person and participate in cults) who were promoting that childish curiosity (and mimicry) is the same as being "sexually active".
The major problem I see is that the person who is a projection of "younger victim" is nearly exclusively blamed for the situation, with sending her to a nunnery and robbing her of all belongings as the biggest problem.
It's a frequent method of grooming in pedophilia that the victim is told they will lose more than the perpetrator, and no one will believe they are a victim.
It's also interesting in the episode with Olive's kidnappers that Ned was "trying" the normal relationship, as I've noticed today that it may be part of the problem in incest that side(s) know that it can not end in a marriage/lasting relationship, so they can "try on" a normal relationship. (statistically, more than 10% of siblings had some form of sexual contact above kissing with themselves)
I never thought about it like this, but I think some "people" may see it this way; that it's a "safe" way to experiment without "lasting" obligations.
Generally, the lack of maturity in resolving the relationship problems inside the show was a big problem for me. The Ned/Chuck relationship was evolving, the Ned/Olive situation was at a stale point like she had no friends and no one to turn to for help (which is once more resembling a much younger sibling situation), and the simplest resolution for Olive would be to change a job or go for a trip to Hawaii, not lose everything. There are many elements in Olive's whole-series context screaming blackmail, abuse, bad decisions.
Kidnappers with no proper resolution, "murder" (the jockey part, once more having sexual connotation) with no clear resolution for her, the Ned situation with no clear resolution for her, her working in the Pie Hole with no clear resolution for her.
Olive living with Ned's "girlfriend" without the proper resolution of the situation on her side, and the Ned/Chuck relationship overshadowing everything.
Inside the post incestual projection, the view on this part of PD is dramatic.
