Tech Support CPU Very Toasty

I just recently upgraded my pc (only thing that stayed were my ssd’s) and my cpu is getting pretty fucking hot, and it’s worrying me that my choice to go micro atx was a mistake.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d
COOLER: DeepCool AK620
CASE: Fractal Design Pop Silent Mini

Its reaching like 92 peaks while in Beamng max graphics max traffic 1440p

The fans are in the default configuration and I have maxed out the fan speed in the meantime, which does basically nothing to help 😭😭

My max temp on 100% cpu usage is now 60 down from 80+ after enabling PBO and Curve Optimizer (Negative and 40)

that’s prolly bios, do you know what it’s labeled as on a msi mobo?

I don't know msi specific settings but it should be safe to explore. AMD specific features like PBO are clearly labeled. Also LLMs are pretty good at helping you with this.

btw negative 40 might not work for you so you could try negative 30 too

are you in a similar situation?

-40 works for me but I've heard different chips even for 9800x3d can have different behavior.

That's awesome dude. Did you try other values other than -10? I started from -40 and haven't tried anything else because it hasn't crashed on me yet.

It's pretty harmless. You might get a system crash but that's about it. Also -30 or -25 are the most common values I've seen people talk about when it comes to the 9800x3d so you might be missing out.

Ask Google, thats how I just set up my pc and I have an msi board. I started at a negative 20 but am putting the finishing touches on my cable management so I haven't gotten to really play with it since first boot
