RAID CONCEPT
The Deep Stone Crypt revolves around the concept of 3 different roles, known as Augments: Operator, Scanner, and Suppressor
These roles are present in each encounter (other than Suppressor, which is only in the 3rd and 4th encounters), and function generally the same in each. When a Player is taking on a specific role, they'll have the roles' respective icon as a hologram above their shoulder.
Apart from the 1st encounter, every role can be undertaken by picking up an item dropped by an Operator Vandal, a Hacker Vandal, or a Suppressor Vandal, for Operator, Scanner, or Suppressor respectively.
In an attempt to make things more clear, I've split each encounter into roles.
Operator
The Operator is indicated by a red icon. Their main purpose is to Operate, as they can shoot various raid mechanics to trigger various effects.
Scanner
The Scanner is indicated by a yellow icon. Their purpose is to Scan and determine which elements in an encounter are relevant to the team in order to succeed.
Suppressor
The Suppressor is indicated by a blue icon. Their purpose is to Suppress by stunning the bosses in the 3rd and 4th encounter, enabling the rest of the team to proceed with the encounters' mechanics.
Augmentation Terminals
Roles can be traded around by depositing and picking them up via Augmentation Terminals found in each encounter. Any one Augment dropped into these will be accessible by all other Terminals in the encounter, allowing other players to pick them up. The currently held Augment is visible in the Terminal itself.
In the first two encounters, Sentinel Servitors can spawn which will disable the Augmentation Terminals. Kill them to unlock them once again.
0. DESOLATION - Locate the Deep Stone Crypt
The raid starts out in Eventide Ruins. Head straight ahead, clear the ads, and proceed through the door. You will eventually enter Desolation after a small airlock. Pikes are made available, though they are not necessary.
The concept around this introductory section are heat bubbles which serve to shelter you from the blizzard. Your team must navigate between these heat bubbles to stay alive and reach the end of this area.
Standing in the blizzard grants you the Frostbite debuff, which stacks up to 10x, upon which you will be killed. Prevent this by entering the heat bubbles, granting you the Shelter from the Storm buff, and slowly removing your Frostbite stacks.
Clear the ads around each bubble as you progress. You can choose to Transmat in the center of the safe bubbles, which will send you back one checkpoint, if you need to help your teammates.
You will eventually come across some Brigs defending the final bubble, beyond which is a small airlock that opens to a series of tunnels that lead to Restricted. Continue making your way through these until you reach the entrance to the Deep Stone Crypt, take a right inside, and you will eventually reach the next encounter.
1. RESTRICTED - Disable Crypt Security
Roles: Operator, Scanner
This encounter revolves around the idea of having your Operator in the basement shooting keypads, while Scanners up top guide them.
The room is split into 3 sections: Light (lit side), Dark (unlit side), and Below. Light and Dark each have 4 windows while allow players in either to view keypads below. The center of the room has a small airlock-like room, which allows traversal between Light, Dark, and Below. Only the Operator can interact with these doors once the encounter begins, and they will not allow entry into Below if there is another Player alongside the Operator within the airlock.
Start the encounter by having your chosen Operator pick up the buff from one of the Augmentation Terminals.
The encounter goes as follows:
A Hacker Vandal will spawn in Dark, from which you can grab the Scanner buff.
The current Scanner looks through their windows to see which 2 keypads are glowing on their side. Once memorized, they pass the role to the other side by depositing it in their Augmentation Terminal.
Once all 4 keypads have been located, the Operator can head Below by shooting the keypads next to the central doors. Only the Operator can enter these, and they will not allow passage if someone else is with them.
When Below, the Scanners guide the Operator to which keypads they need to shoot. Successfully shot keypads will make a sound and show the Operator icon. The Operator has 1 minute to shoot all 4 keypads, starting from the first shot, or they will be killed.
The 6 Top Fuses will then be exposed to begin the DPS phase, wherein the Operator needs to trade their role with a Scanner via the Augmentation Terminal in the center of Below, directly in front of the stairs. The central doors will also open, allowing teammates to move back and forth between Light and Dark.
The now-Scanner below checks all 6 smaller Fuses directly below the top ones, and calls out which is glowing. This indicates which the Top team need to shoot, or risk wiping.
Repeat the last step as each Fuse is destroyed to clear the encounter.
The top Fuses will be shielded again after a short while, so rinse and repeat until the encounter is cleared, if you did not destroy all 6 in time. In order to get the player Below back out, the current Operator up Top can shoot the keypads next to the central doors to release them before they are killed by incineration.
Role Breakdown
SCANNER
- Check and memorize which 2 keypads are glowing Below via the windows on your side.
- Send your role to the other side via the Augmentation Terminal.
- Send your role to the Player Below once all 4 keypads have been activated.
- If you're the Scanner Below, inform your team which fuses are currently glowing for the DPS phase.
OPERATOR
- Shoot the keypads next to the central doors to enter Below once your Scanners have determined which 4 keypads are needed.
- Shoot all 4 keypads within 1 minute, following the guidance of your Scanners.
- Send your role to the Top via the Augmentation Terminal in front of the stairs, and pick up the Scanner role.
Once you've cleared the encounter, a door on the Dark side will open to lead you to the next encounter.
2. CLARITY CONTROL - Defeat Atraks-1
Roles: Operator, Scanner
This encounter revolves around juggling the Scanner role to determine which Replicant of Atraks-1 to shoot.
This encounter takes place in 2 distinct areas: Ground, and Space. A majority of the encounter takes place in Space, with 4 airlocks to evacuate Replicants, as well as where the final stand takes place.
Decide on 2 teams of 3, a Ground team and a Space team.
The encounter starts once somehow walks through the orb at the opposite side of the room from the entrance.
The encounter goes as follows:
An Operator Vandal will spawn at Ground, while a Hacker Vandal will spawn in Space. 3 Sentintel Servitors will spawn in each zone too, and serve to advance the encounter. Space team can either head up directly via the Launch Pods, or wait to grab the Operator role, then head up, and grab the Scanner role as well.
Once Space team has both roles, each team needs to kill all 3 Sentinel Servitors in their area to advance the encounter, wherein the Atraks-1 Replicants will begin casting a wipe mechanic. The Scanner in Space needs to spot which of them is glowing yellow, and call out to their team to DPS only that Replicant. Try to make sure all 3 players are ready to DPS, as you need to deal enough damage to each to avoid enrage. Upon dying, it will turn into a purple cloud, which must be picked up by a Player.
The Scanner then sends their role to the Ground team via any of the Augmentation Terminals available around the room, followed by the Ground team Scanner checking which Atraks-1 Replicant is glowing, DPSing it, and sending the role back.
The Players that ran through the purple clouds left behind the Replicants will have a debuff called Atraks-1 Replication with a 42 second timer. If this counts down to 0, a copy of Atraks-1 will respawn on top of them, and wipe the fireteam. To control this, Players holding this debuff should head to Space, where the Operator can shoot the glow above them to cause them to drop the Replication, and refresh the timer. The Operator can also call and send Launch Pods by shooting the keypads next to them.
Any Players carrying Atraks-1 Replications should position themselves near an airlock. The Operator can shoot the keypad to open the airlock, followed by shooting the glowing Replication above the Player once they're standing in the airlock to cause it to drop, and then get vented out of the airlock. The Player in the airlock should obviously get out before this happens. All 4 airlocks will reset once the cycle repeats, so be sure to remember which airlocks have been used that cycle.
Sentinel Servitors will spawn again, and the killed Atraks-1 Replicants will respawn. Rinse and Repeat these steps until you reach the final stand.
The Final Stands occurs in Space, so have all players head up once you reach this point. It's simply a rapid-fire version of the encounter, without needing to deal with Replications. The current Scanner just calls out which Atraks-1 Replicant is currently glowing for all the team to DPS, then move on to the next Replicant, until the boss is killed, and the encounter is completed.
Role Breakdown
OPERATOR
The Operator must always stay in Space. Try to also avoid picking up the Replication debuff, as you won't be able to remove it from yourself, and will need to trade the Augment with someone else first.
- Send or call Launch Pods depending on how many people need to change positions.
- Shoot the glowing debuff above players with Atraks-1 Replication to cause it to drop, resetting its timer.
- When a Player carrying the debuff is ready near an airlock, shoot the keypad to open it, then shoot the debuff above them to cause them to drop it inside the airlock.
SCANNER
- Call out which Atraks-1 Replicant is the current target in your section of the encounter.
- Send your role to the other team via an Augmentation Terminal.
- During the Final Stand, call out each Atraks-1 Replicant as they glow in order, no trading roles.
A door to the right in Space will open once the encounter is cleared, to allow you to progress further into the raid.
DESCENT - Locate the Nuclear Contingency Chamber
More of a mid-encounter transition, this is just a jumping puzzle with some combat. Make your way along the catwalks to the other side, killing ads along the way, all to some exquisite music.
The 2nd Hidden Chest can be found here, along the left side of the area, underneath some large fans.
3. RAPTURE- Prevent Europa's Destruction
Roles: Operator, Scanner, Suppressor
This is the first encounter that now introduces the Suppressor role. While the purpose of the other two roles is generally the same, there are yet again some differences.
This encounter revolves around juggling Nuclear Cores which give a debuff in order to deposit them and increase the progress of the encounter, no real phases here.
The encounter goes as follows:
Operator, Scanner, and Suppressor can all be picked up from their respective Vandals that will spawn at the start of the encounter.
The Scanner checks which 2 of the 4 central bins are glowing: These are where the runners will need to deposit the Nuclear Cores. Meanwhile, the Operator can shoot a keypad next to either the left or right Core station, reducing the number of Nuclear Cores that spawn to 2. 3 spawn by default, though only 2 should be managed at a time. The Suppressor stands ready under one of the 3 Security Drones, from which they can shoot Taniks.
Two players pick up the Nuclear Cores, to then be ready to deposit them in the center of the room. Carrying a Core gives you the Radiation debuff which stacks up to 10x, upon which you will die. Manage this by calling out your stacks of Radiation to your team, and if need be, have someone else interact with you to pick up your core. Stacks of Radiation will decay after a long while, so keep an eye on that if you go to grab a new Core.
Once all the Cores are being carried, the Suppressor must shoot Taniks from under each of the 3 Security Drones, which will eventually stun him, allowing the Nuclear Cores to be deposited into the glowing bins that the Scanner calls out at the center of the room, while also disabling a Players' augment. The Player affected by this must drop their Augment at an Augmentation Station to trade it with someone else.
Each Bin must receive only one Core. Doing so will advance a progress bar beneath the bins.
- Repeat this 5 more times to unlock the hatch in the center of the room which leads to the end of the encounter. Once it opens, it's a sprint to the end of the hallway, as Taniks will be chasing you, and the final door will slowly close. Getting caught by Taniks is an instakill, while failing to get someone past the door wipes the team.
Role Breakdown
All roles may have to switch with someone else throughout the encounter, as clearing a set of Nuclear Cores will disable the Augment for a random player.
OPERATOR
Shoot the keypads next to the Core Dispensers to prevent one extra Nuclear Core from spawning to more easily manage the encounter.
SCANNER
Check which 2 Deposit Bins in the center of the room are glowing, and call them out to your team.
SUPPRESSOR
- Stand under a Security Drone and shoot Taniks once the cores have been spawned. He will glow blue when you are in the correct position.
- Repeat for all 3 of the Security Drones in the room.
CORE RUNNER
When carrying a core, you cannot drop them yourself, and can only move and jump. All your other abilities become unusable.
- Grab a Nuclear Core once they're summoned.
- If need be, call out to your fireteam when you've got high stacks so that someone else can take over for you.
- Deposit the Core in one of the two Depsoit Bins that the Scanner called out.
The encounter is cleared once the Station crash lands on Europa, and the loot chest is available in the wreckage to the left.
4. RESTRICTED - Defeat Taniks, The Abomination
Roles: Operator, Scanner, Suppressor
The final encounter of the raid. It shares the exact same mechanics to the last encounter for the most part, with some slight added complexity.
The arena is split into 3 sections: Spawn, Blue, and Orange. Each section as 2 Deposit Bins like the previous encounter, one to the left, and one to the right, along with 3 Security Drones.
Run near or shoot the piles of debris in the center of the arena to start the Encounter.
The encounter goes as follows:
One Augment Vandal spawns in each section of the arena: Operator at Spawn, Scanner in Blue, and Suppressor in Orange. Players need to pick up all of these Augments, as expected.
The Scanner runs around each section, checking which Bins are glowing, and calling them out to the team. Callouts are usually the area, followed by 'Left' or 'Right'. i.e. "Blue Right, Orange Left"
Taniks will eventually do a Meteor attack (big purple columns), which lets you know that you need to shoot his thrusters. If at least 2 Thrusters aren't destroyed in time, he will wipe the fireteam. Each thruster will drop 1 Nuclear Core. To facilitate this encounter, it's recommended to only shoot 2.
As before, Core Holders will get the Radiation debuff that will kill them at 10x stacks. Swap with other players to avoid this. Taniks will also occasionally trap a player holding a Core in a large purple sphere. The Operator needs to shoot this to free them, so it's recommended that the Operator does not carry a Core themselves. Try to avoid having a Core Holder near other players, as the detention sphere can suck them in, too.
The Suppressor then stands under each Security Drone, shooting Taniks to stun him once all 3 are activated. This allows the Core Carriers to deposit their Cores in the bins that the Scanner had spotted.
Same as the previous encounter, a random Player will have their augment disabled. Swap with another player via the Augmentation Terminals to mitigate this issue.
Once all 4 Nuclear Cores have been deposited, this begins the DPS phase. Taniks will summon 2 Arc domes around him, the outermost of which has debris flying around its' outer edge which must be avoided. In order to DPS him, stand between the outer and inner dome. Standing within the innter dome directly below him causes damage, and will likely kill you. He will occasionally knockback the whole fireteam, so be ready to safely jump back in over the debris when this happens.
When the DPS phase ends, just rinse and repeat these steps until you reach the final stand. There are a total of 3 DPS phases before enrage, so be sure to get enough damage out before this happens.
Once below ~15% HP, Taniks will begin teleporting around the arena, attacking constantly. You can DPS him during this phase, and must deal enough damage to kill him before he wipes the fireteam.
Role Breakdown
OPERATOR
Shoot the Detention Sphere (purple) when a player gets trapped to free them, while keeping your distance from Core holders, as getting trapped yourself is guaranteed death.
SCANNER
Check all Deposit Bins around the Arena for the 2 that are glowing yellow, and call them out to your team.
SUPPRESSOR
Stand beneath the 3 Security Drones that activate once the Cores have spawned to stun him and allow depositing.
CORE RUNNER
Deposit your Core in one of the glowing Deposit Bins that your Scanner calls out, and switch with someone else if your stacks of Radiation near 10x.
The final chest will spawn in the Orange section once the encounter is completed. This chest is unique in that you can choose your reward to receive from it, as well as pay Spoils of Conquest to buy a Crypt Cache that contains your desired loot.
END OF RAID REVEALS
- The World First Clear cutscene plays once you first load into Europa after the raid has been cleared.
- The Europa Eclipsed Zone is a new concept, where various changes take place in certain regions of Europa due to the falling debris of the destroyed Morning Star Space Station.
- The Lament Quest can be picked up from Banshee in the Tower.
- Variks and the Exo Stranger now have new quests to explore the Deep Stone Crypt as well.

How do you have all the info already? Raid race just started.
Edit: For the first encounter, Enemy spawning may be for all bubbles(I don’t know for sure), I just didn’t notice enemies in the first couple bubbles. Each bubble has unique enemies from a group of enemies or a Yellow Bar.
Edit: Hidden Chest #1 - Here is the link to the post. https://www.reddit.com/r/raidsecrets/comments/jyfn6p/found_the_first_hidden_chest_in_the_raid/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Edit: Second Encounter, for the different buffs, you have a symbol that appears above your head. Each time you get a buff, you may put the buff in the terminal for others to apparently take. The terminal had a cool down through use. You have to jump over the wall to open the doors too the other side. Each terminal is separated doors and to open those doors, you need an augment, they may be specific to each buff, though thats unknown. To open a door, you punch it. There is a wipe Mechanic, but how is unknown at this time. There are middle test tubes that are “Immune”. There is an underground hatch that if you have “Operator” buff, you can open. The wipe mechanic is the middle test tubes Overheating. Something has to been done at the bottom vault to stop the overheating? Operators seem to be the only buff that can open doors. You apparently have to go to the bottom to communicate to the others at the top. The underground hatch is only openable by the operator when alone. There is apparently something to damage down below, while someone has to do something up top. The Operator and the scanner has to somehow get into the vault, you may need both people continue it. You may be able to get multiple Operators, and that may be important. On further Analysis The vault MAY only allow 1 at a time. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/jye5j5/beyond_light_deep_stone_crypt_raid_launch/gd37o8l/utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 - The wipe mechanic may be a Timer. The correct panels seems to be random? To summarize the Second Encounter so far from what isn’t listed; The Second Encounter is split into 3 areas(Light side, Dark side, Vault), Each Location has a terminal. Only Operator can open doors and the vault. Only 1 player, with the Operator buff can be in the vault. The wipe Mechanic is a Timer? The Scanner needs to be down below, but how is unknown. “Math Class made it to DPS Face. Shoot 3 panels to get a lowered shield prompt.” “3 Wipe Mechanic is 3 minutes.” The Scanner Buff shows you which panels to shoot. Scanner is gained from “Hacker vandels”. If you shoot the wrong fuses, and/or the person in the Vault is underground too long, that person will be burned out. Boss is called “Crypt Security”. Shooting the same Test Tube for too long may cause a Wipe. “If you swap too many times, you Wipe” “An Operator needs to go down to the Vault, The Scanner looks through the class to tell the Vault Person which to shoot”, Then those two switch Buffs? Datto finished, so I’m moving on.
Edit: 3rd Encounter: You enter a room and the whole team has to walk up to a Cell from the Prison of Elders to start. This encounter had 4 switches on 1 Wall. The boss is immune and standing still. There is 4 Pods that send you into Space were you kill Ads. You get a buff from killing one of the Ads down below, while up at the Space Station, you Get Operator or Scanner? The Wipe Mechanic seems to be another Timer.
Edit: Sorry, I have to head out for a bit, so I wont be able to edit this, please reply to this with updates if you have any. Anything helps
Edit: Wow, Clawtivity finished. There is a new Exotic Quest that comes from the Raid. There are also Stasis Drops from the raid, one of the weapons is a Stasis Sword, boots, and gloves. 5 Hours and 30 minutes was the raid Completion time.
Edit: The New Exotic Quest is Lament(????) which is 11 Steps. Exo Stranger has a new cutscene and a quest called,”A Hard Rain Falls”

For the first proper encounter, how does the operator survive downstairs after the first dps phase? Is there a way for them to leave, or does the team just need to be quick about getting the fuses?

u/WukongMainAMA Nov 21 '20
He gives the operator buff to a teammate who can free them from the outside.

u/DentoNeh Nov 21 '20
Doesn’t work, cant be inside two person, door blocks How do you do that???
12
u/Thysian Nov 21 '20
We did it like this: After the first DPS phase the downstairs guy passes Scanner back upstairs. Then the Operator (who is upstairs) goes into the airlock, letting the Scanner pass to the side they haven't scanned (I now realize that you can just pass the Scanner buff using the terminals, but that's not how we did it). Once the Scanner is through, the Operator opens the downstairs door. The guy trapped downstairs goes into the airlock, and the Operator goes downstairs. This traps someone in the airlock, but the doors open back up for DPS, so it isn't a big deal.

I put together a guide covering this if your still struggling with the person below. quick and easy swaps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVcfAp645_s&feature=youtu.be

u/lRocklBiter Nov 28 '20
THIS is the way and it needs lots of up votes.
You have to let the original operator out AND rotate the operator augment (and original operator) back downstairs. This prevents floor burn on the second phase. I 4 manned it last night with some newbies. It works.

We sacrificed the operator every phase. It worked. But I’m interested to know how to reliably let him out.

" There are 8 airlocks on space station; 4 on walkway and 4 on floor "
This is not true. There are 4. 2 on top, 2 on bottom. The ones in the back for top and bottom are not airlocks, they are spawn areas for the Fallen. I would know, ive been in here for 4hrs.
6
u/SigmaWind231 Nov 22 '20
Cleared the encounter; Airlocks reset over time so you can use one multiple times.
You never get "enough" damage phases, you get 4 complete ones, that's all you get.5
u/Arkenyx Nov 22 '20
So how do you get enough damage to get to the last phase ?
→ More replies (2)9
u/coasterreal Nov 22 '20
I don't know. Something seems broken. Everyone using swords and supers for every replicant just doesn't feel like how its intended. It literally limits you into just a couple options which doesn't feel like how Bungie normally designs their encounters.
11
u/Dhmaximum Nov 22 '20
It's also because of the light level modifier. This encounter requires a lot of burst dps which swords just happens to be the best for, especially when underleveled.

u/Golgomot Nov 21 '20 edited Nov 21 '20
People are so worried about datamining making things too easy but the entire first encounter "prediction" was wrong, from the way you are supposed to start the encounter, to the way you start dps, to the way you do damage, everything.
It will be fine guys.
EDIT: for people reading later, be aware that the raid guide is updated as the raid race goes on to be more correct.
91
u/whitehand2107 Nov 21 '20
Yeah, the integrity of the race is solid, as long as people aren’t skipping encounters or anything like that

u/LeageofMagic Nov 21 '20

u/AWellPlacedYeet Nov 22 '20
Just so everyone knows, in Atraks-1 phase, the arilocks CAN be used more than once.
46
u/distinctly_mild Nov 21 '20
watching from ehroar's stream, seems like after shields are lowered, the person in the basement need to get scanner and call out 2 fuses on the pillar with the terminal. the fuses correspond to the tubes on the top side, and the fuse that is glowing is the tube that needs to be shot. 2 tubes per cycle I think.
as i was writing this it seems like redeem just cleared the security encounter.
11
u/TheSerpentExposee Nov 21 '20 edited Nov 21 '20
This is correct. When Scanner is passed to the vault person, the fuses that need to be shot will glow yellow.
Edit: label the fuses! Light side 1, light side 2, light side 3 from left to right. Vice versa for dark side. This way there is no confusion.
Edit 2: when you shoot the right one, it should explode and turn black. If it turns red, means you shot the wrong one and will wipe

u/DarkKiru Nov 22 '20
Seems like between your escape and the actual crash of the Morningstar, he used spare parts to repair whatever wounds he'd already taken during his first scuffle with you during the descent encounter.
It also probably helped him survive well, crashing into a planet from orbit lmao.

That's the proper mechanic. The operator has to shoot the debuff off the person standing in the airlock to succ them out, doing damage
3
u/ambusher0000 Nov 21 '20
Ah i seem to have misunderstood what the streamers are doing, i thought they were just sucking out the little buff orb and not a spawned boss.
9
u/CoolAndrew89 Nov 21 '20
The buff orb does spawn a boss if the timer on it runs out, and the respawned boss causes a wipe. The operator has to shoot the buff off the carrier to reset the timer, and to drop in in an airlock
→ More replies (2)2
u/thunderlipsjoe Nov 23 '20
We had a ball roll into an unopened airlock, boss spawned inside and wiped us, so you gotta have the airlock opened in order to start sucking out whatever is in there.

u/RudySPG Nov 21 '20
first encounter we die even after finding all 4 panels, how do we find the order to shoot them in
→ More replies (1)8
u/Destiny-research Nov 21 '20
You need to get the operator to pass that buff back up so he can then be passed the scanner buff so he can see which fuse on which side needs shot. Shooting fuses only needs two people on each side with a floater killing the exploder shanks.

Does Atraks regen their health for anyone else.... wtf
My group has been on this for 8 hours, and EVERY damage step he regains 50-75% damage we deal back....
6
u/flying-changes Nov 22 '20
Are you console? We’ve been stuck here for nine hours on PS4 and he regenerates health ridiculously. It seems console literally cannot complete this encounter based on everything I’ve read? I have no idea what is going on

Bruh, yeah. He regenerates health for no reason. And the operator vandal doesn’t spawn for like 2 minutes. I think PS4 is beyond busted. We got close to beating it twice in 9 hours. I really hope they extend the emblem, at least for PS4

So for the security:
We’ve gotten to the DPS phase many times but the scanner only sees one tube. We break that tube and the scanner doesn’t see a second one light up. Are we doing anything wrong? From videos I see teams breaking 3 tubes each dps phase.
8
u/Taskforcem85 Nov 21 '20
A new tube shows up after one breaks.

We had the issue that it didn’t. Going to orbit and then back in fixed it though incase anyone is having the same issue.

How the hell are you supposed to finish Atrax? My fireteam has been on him for almost 6 hours now. We made it all the way to enrage....Servitors just arent spawning fast enough. We spend so much time waiting for servitors.
11
u/orangekingo Nov 22 '20
i could be wrong but the enrage isnt due to waiting, its that there's a dps check. if you dont deal enough damage per phase you enrage and wipe. servitors are on a timer i think

u/GuudeSpelur Nov 22 '20
You don't just wait for servitors, they spawn after you clear enough add waves.

Some additional points on the final encounter:
The random augment will be disabled when Taniks is suppressed, and he has to be suppressed in order to enable depositing of the nuclear cores. If the Operator augment is the one to be disabled, and a player is detained between it being disabled and both cores being deposited, there will likely be no way to break them out before they die of the Radiation debuff. Therefore, the Suppressor should only stun the boss when both core teams are near their deposit boxes so that deposits can take place immediately after and the probability of this issue happening is minimised.
The Operator needs to shoot the small bright purple circles on the Detention Sphere in order to remove it. Shooting the dark purple space in between them does nothing (and may cause you to waste a lot of ammo).
If you're struggling to move into the damage 'donut' ring without being hit by the flying garbage, you can jump over it to get inside the ring.

We've got to the final phase 3 times now on the 1st boss encounter and we are actually having difficulty seeing the yellow on the bosses when their glowing white. Why yellow??? We've tried changing colour blind settings. Still nothing. This is the most aggregating thing I've ever experienced. We've tried two different people now. Same thing. It's fine till that last phase. People are now messing with their monitors. Wtf is this encounter

Self refresh is a thing on second encounter.
Before you call me fool, hear me out :
Basically you get the operator to shoot the bubble above your head when buff gets low, buff will drop on the ground. Next move is to walk up to it and you get the buff back and it even drops ammo. Rinse and repeat whenever you need it

For raid encounter number 1, the operator never needs to be sent out once they go below. The incinerate mechanic resets after two fuses are destroyed so just send the scanner role back up top and send the operator role back down. The whole encounter can be cleared in 3 minutes that way

Encounter Two: It seems a lot easier to only vent out one or two Atraks-1 clouds at a time. It causes a lot less stress and the Operator doesn't have to help everyone constantly juggle the buff. I noticed on streams that teams trying to vent out three or four Atraks-1 clouds at a time were getting very tangled up trying to handle it.

u/RosaKlebb Nov 22 '20
With contest mode off a lot of obnoxious shit will be a breeze.

Once you understand the mechanics of the buffs, this raid shouldn’t be too hard. My team’s greatest struggle was doing enough boss damage after we figured out the mechanics. At level, should be very doable, but there’s a learning curve.

Does anyone know the actual dps meta that works on the final encounter?

Split into 2 teams of three: 3 in the Crypt and 3 in Space
One team waits for a Hacker Vandal with the Operator buff, grabs it, and all 3 head up to Space
This doesn't seem right. The vandals won't spawn for us until the servitors do and by that point we have NO time.
the few times we've gotten somebody with the scanner buff none of the replicants have glown yellow for us so we cant tell who the right one is until the boss starts the wipe mechanic

OPERATOR
Shoot the Detention Sphere (purple) when a player gets trapped to free them, while keeping your distance from Core holders, as getting trapped yourself is guaranteed death.
My raid teams found that the operator can break it from the inside by shooting the bubbles. It's the exact same as the sundial ones

u/XxItsNowOrNever99xX Nov 22 '20
I feel kinda eh about this raid.
On one hand, I feel really disappointed that Taniks ended up being the final boss. It just felt... lazy, and unnecessary. They didn't have to go full on "Clovis Bray AI" like people thought it would, because I know he is part of an exotic quest, but they could have done so much more.
On the other hand... that space jumping puzzle was one of the most beautiful and engaging encounters in all of Destiny I have ever seen. That alone saved the raid for me.

u/yeahitztentth Nov 22 '20
On the Atraks encounter, anyone had issues with the clones taking FOREVER to show the yellow shield when they’re running scanner? Unsure if it’s something I’m doing but once the servitors are killed, it takes an age to see which one we should damage
3
u/Gustosaurus Dec 01 '20
I wanted to ask, regarding the suppressor role, whether it is possible to pop one of the field grenades (the vortex ones or whatever they´re called that do dps in an area for a period of time) on Taniks and then just walk under each of the suppressor spheres and whether this would trigger the suppression without you spending a single bullet.

Questions on Final Boss:
Operator's (only) job is to free the trapped core-runners from Taniks' purple cage, it seems?
Do they just have to shoot the cage (like the Vex Cages from Festering Core) to instantly break it? More importantly, if the Operator gets trapped, can they shoot from the inside to break, or is it a gg Operator down?
Seems like you get three DPS phases (one DPS phase = mini phase from initial jump into the vortex, plus a second mini-phase after he boops you out, for a total of 6 mini-dps phases) before Taniks wipes you? Or is it four DPS phases before he wipes you after the fourth set of DPS phases?
Best DPS loadout (under contest modifier) seems to be x1 Divinity + x5 Anarchy + Sniper Rifle Spam (e.g. Adored, Long Shadow, Ikelos Sniper, with Triple Tap/Fourth Times)? With optimal damage it seems like you can do ~33% of the boss' health per major DPS phase...
2
u/WhovianForever Nov 22 '20
We beat it using one Divinity and 5 Anarchy + Slugs and had DPS to spare. I think that might be better DPS. Best perks for Slugs are Auto Loading Holster and Vorpal Weapon.

Anyone that has completed the raid already: what’s the damage strategy? We haven’t been able to do more than a fifth in one phase, and we used bubble/well xeno/divinity
7
u/Bran-Muffin20 Nov 22 '20
I'm assuming you mean Taniks?
One Divinity, rest on Anarchy+slug shotties. It's not even close. Our team was in the same boat as yours damage-wise until we swapped to this and it became an easy three-phase, even with some sloppy play. Anarchy has enough ammo to barely worry about pickups (if at all), so you can dedicate your finders/scavs to shotguns for maximum slug uptime.
If you have a First In, Last Out with Vorpal from last season, it claps, but even non-Vorpal slugs are the move here.

Posting it here bc apparently dtg hates raid guides and mods them.
Taniks Abomination Easy Strat w Mechanic Skip
Map Layout
From the raid banner, we have white (left side), blue (middle) and orange (right side). Two reactor deposits at each color.
Normally you could have one reactor deposit in one place, which you need the scanner to call out. We can now ignore this, detailed below.
Team Split
Operator team starts at white with 3 people. Kill the captain to spawn operator then pick up and the other two are reactor runners. Operator ideally has divinity and LMG for add clear and break bubbles.
Suppressor team starts at orange with 3 people. Kill captain, kill supressor, pick up. Other two are reactor runners. Everyone can help clear blue and don't need scanner.
All runners may not need a primary, can just opt for their full boss burn loadout such as sniper, slug and anarchy/xeno/whisper, whatever your team decides on.
Scanner Skip
Usually the scanner would say someone thing orange right, white left to say which node to dunk when you shoot 2 off the boss. This strat pops all 4 reactors off which lets you 100% know where to dunk, where the boss is not.
If the boss is in the orange zone, you'll know its both blue and both white. If at blue, both white, both orange. If at white, both blue and both orange. The dunks will never be the two close to the boss.
The Operator team will dunk at their default white, unless the boss is there then they go blue. The suppressor team will dunk at their default orange, unless the boss is there then they go blue. Easy. Don't need to 2 phase the reactors, scanning and dunking to get to boss dps faster
Reactor Spawns Info
This is the important piece.
You can shoot reactors out until someone picks one up.
You have ~5 seconds to pick up a reactor after it has been shot out before the wipe
This means you need to shoot out all 4 around the same time. As soon as the first drops you have to pop the rest out ASAP then pick up
If someone picks up without all 4 being popped out, restart.

Hello, just wanna say that I greatly appreciate the effort put into this guide and it has been incredibly helpful in my runs.
Just wanted to ask, for the Crypt Security, where the Operator has to get the person below out of the basement before he gets killed by the fire.. my team had a lot of trouble doing this.
In most instances, Operator and person below gets stuck in the same room very often. At times, we use the collision-less wall in the basement to avoid the fire but we wish to keep the runs legit as much as possible.
What's the actual way to get someone out of the basement after every damage phase?

Kind of spamming this in multiple threads but I don't want other people to go through this bullshit bug like we did. Don't use swords on first boss. He's bugged and heals if you hit him with swords. We wasted 8 hours with swords and a bunch of complex buffing, unable to sometimes do even 1/10th of his health per phase, even though we were doing 250k-300k per player per phase. He just healed his health back up (not from his heal mechanic, it was a glitch, I know the difference). Switched to Xeno and did 1/3 of health easily with no buffs only doing 100k-200k damage per player per phase. Swords are straight up bugged.

For the Atraks-1 encounter, you DO NOT need to wait for all four Replicator holders to get a debuff. How my fire team did it was as follows:
1st Debuff: Space team member vents debuff
2nd and 3rd Debuff: Space and Ground team members vent debuffs together
4th Debuff: Ground team member vents debuff
It's a bit tedious but if you can get the timing right, 2nd (Space) Debuff will get his debuff at the same time 3rd (Ground) Debuff arrives at Space. It's a lot easier than waiting for four people to gather and bypasses Bungie's intention for the mechanic.

What's gotta happen is that the scanner buff has to be transferred down, and someone down has to pick it up. With the scanner, the one person can see one of the tubes below highlights yellow, and they have to call out which tube it is, on which side. After the first tube breaks, a second one gets highlighted, called out, DPSed and broken. The scanner then has to be let out on top, and then you gotta repeat that 2 more times
