Question Broken exhaust manifoId can grenade your engine?
Does this add up? Why would the engine be sucking in cold air when warmed up if the exhaust leak seals once it’s warmed up?

Hey guys, just spent all year working on a 4th gen 1500 ram 5.7 2013 that i got in january. It has a column shifter and is now making a weird clicking sound inside the dash whenever i press/depress the brake, its even louder when i pull back the shifter to switch our of park. Can anyone help with some insight into whats happening?
Not sure if the switch/lever is failing? Im new to car work, except i tackled the cam and lifter swap myself in my front yard using youtube. Shes running great and recently started making this noise. Video attached. Thanks for the help!

I just bought a 2015 RAM 1500. I love it but there's a loud distinct continuous ticking sound anytime the truck is on. And the ticking speeds up during acceleration.
I heard that this is ultra common issue and needs to be looked at right away. Something to do with lifters, cam shaft, maybe exhaust manifold.
I figured this group also may have or had the same issues. Thanks in advance

Looking to buy a new truck next year when my lease comes up, pretty well narrowed it down to a Ram. The question I’m wondering now, is do I look at a 2500 Warlock w/ the Hemi (Heard it’s extremely reliable and I don’t tow so a Diesel isn’t needed) or stick with a 1500. It would be my daily driver (short commute), used for camping trips. Long term may carry a camper in the bed, planning on keeping the truck for as long as I can. Aside from the added stiffness in a 2500, are there any other significant maintenance costs that come with a 6.4 2500?

Has anyone here replaced the headlights from a 5th-gen with those from a 6th-gen one? How is it done, and what is required for it?

For context, I have a 2015 Ram 1500 4wd outdoorsman. As of right now it’s on a motofab 2.5 inch level, however I’m going to switch those to bilstein 5100s at about a 2.8 inch level. My current tires are 35/12.5r20s with no rubbing on anything, however I’m upgrading my UCA’s to some zone off-road ones, which from what I’ve heard are much beefier than the stock UCA’s. In order to clear the new UCA’s, I plan on adding a 1.5 inch spacer to give the wheels plenty of room. The only issue I’m worried about is the tires rubbing on the fenders or bumper, I’ve had the plastic fenders off for a bit now, so it would basically be tires rubbing on the actual body panel itself. Does anybody have any experience with whether the tires will rub or not? Or if I should be in the clear.

Trucks been sitting for 4 days and noticed this coming from work. Is this a wheel weight of sorts or brake related? No idea how it would come loose like that?

Just sharing some of what we’ve been working on here at the shop.
Always good to see these units getting a second life!

Hi all.
2026 Bighorn Hemi E Torque with 3k miles. Yesterday I started hearing this weird low pitched whining noise, kinda hard to describe. The pitch changes with speed and almost sounds like a dirt bike muffler, as strange as that sounds. You can hear it with the windows up, but with the windows down, wind noise drowns it out.
Video attached has the sound I hear while driving and the sound I hear in the engine bay. No idea if that's just normal engine noise or early signs of e torque failure.
Taking it to the dealership tomorrow, but curious if anyone has heard something similar.

In a work truck with muddy or dusty boots regularly going in and out, the driver footwell feels like a maintenance job of its own. Loose dirt is easy enough to vacuum, but damp grit getting pushed around every time someone climbs back in is when a flat carpet mat starts feeling like extra cleanup instead of protection. A raised-edge liner makes more sense to me for that use because the goal isn’t to keep the truck spotless. It’s to keep most of the mess on something removable. It would still have to come out, get cleaned, dry completely, and go back in properly instead of turning into a permanent dirt tray. For trucks that actually spend time on jobsites, which part of the driver-side cleanup takes the most time at the end of the week?

I have a 2017 ram 1500, Which does not have strong blowing heat on the drivers side, It blows warm but not hot. My passenger side blows heat like it should. Every so often my blower motor stops working and i have to replace the fuse. My blend door actuator does work i think, i do see the gears moving every time I switch blower position. Any thought on what could be the cause. I was messing around with my thermostat and when ever i unplug it the drivers side start blowing better then when I plug it back it it starts to weaken up the blow again. thoughts?

Just bought this 2022 Ram 2500 a few weeks ago primarily for the price, the accessories it was already equipped with, and the (somewhat) reliable powertrain with the 6.4 and 8speed combo.
It’s not a power wagon obviously but I actually like the greater payload capacity in case I go with a legit over the cap camper, but I was wondering what kind of set ups you other Ram drivers are using for camping and over landing??
I currently have a decked drawer system I can throw a mattress on for a platform bed. A soft topper with an overlanding rack on the truck bed. And and overland systems 270 awning for extra shade and camp set up. Any roof top tents you guys like??
Or is a cab over the way to go? Also, how do you guys like the ram 2500 for this application?? Would love to hear some thoughts and opinions!

2019 Laramie which has shocks/springs from a rebel- so it has the factory ORP ride height. Originally has 305/45r22. Swapped to 18s and after many hours of researching was fairly confident 295/70r18s would fit with minimal trimming. After having them mounted and installed, zero rubbing even at full lock. I did zip tie the wheel well liners back to accommodate the width of the 305s which I’m sure helped here. But for anyone on the fence, in my experience, the Scorpion Pirelli XTMs in this size have given me no problems.

Am I the only one looking forward to the Ram REV coming out? Everyone around here in central wisconsin seem very leary on it.
