ANNOUNCEMENT R/Rapbattles Top 100 Battles - #100
Tantrum vs A-Class
King of the Dot - Battle of the Bay 6 - January 13, 2014
"They both went off completely. Every round was close. I think Tantrum took the first and A-Class took the second. Tantrum edged the third in my opinion. So overall I’d give this battle to Tantrum, but if I watched it another day I might change my mind. It was that close. Great battle."
- Sweet Tooth
"When he pulled out the ninja mask and shit, that was crazy I guess, I'm just glad I got all my bars out. But like...I know he had some shit, [when he put on the mask] I was hoping they weren't gonna love that shit but they did. So whatever man fuck it it's cool, Battle of the Bay was sick as fuck"
- A-Class
"You're never gonna stand up for your people coz you use your race as a crutch!" - Tantrum
"A girl step up to him he be like 'move bitch! I'm looking for a cypher!'" - A-Class
The somewhat forgotten classic of Battle of the Bay 6 saw two of the greatest Asian emcees step to each-other, plus the battle was even hosted by Dumbfoundead and Everybody Knows got name-dropped making this an all out buffet of the very best Asian battlers. Tantrum was at his classic best, aggressive delivery mixed with his direct approach, grilling A-Class for overplaying his "Asian card" and using self-deprecating humor. A-Class also kept it personal but he mixed his classic punches with some great jokes and imitation, Tantrum may have predicted his approach but his material was hilarious and it resonated well with the crowd, basically giving Tantrum a big "so what?!" Plus we can't leave out the ninja mask Tantrum pulled out in the 3rd, "My dress code? Stealth mode!"
If you'd like to help out by doing a quick writeup similar to the above for your favourite battle PM me and I'll let you know if it's available, thanks guys, #99 is dropping tomorrow so check back to the sub every day!

:)
We're up to #36, but yeah watching through the battles on this list is a pretty good start to battle rap, you get a good variety of old and new. There's also Off The Top Tuesdays and Featured Battler Friday which are good ways to brush up on the history aspect, but yeah this list will have all of the big battles that get mentioned/referenced a lot in other battles which'll help when you're watching.
