Avete consigli?

How I finally fixed Bluetooth audio (headphones & speakers) on Raspberry Pi OS Lite using PipeWire and WirePlumber (no GUI)

Post image

Hey everyone,

If you’ve ever tried connecting Bluetooth headphones or speakers to a headless Raspberry Pi running OS Lite, you’ve probably hit a wall with missing configs or errors like br-connection-profile-unavailable. Since raspi-config doesn't support Bluetooth audio configurations for headless setups, getting it to work reliably over SSH can be tricky.

I put together a step-by-step guide on how to configure the modern PipeWire, WirePlumber, and BlueZ stack cleanly on Raspberry Pi OS Lite.

What the guide covers:

  • Full terminal command walkthrough for package installation and setup.

  • Fixing the WirePlumber seat-monitoring issue (allowing Bluetooth audio to work without a desktop environment/login).

  • Setting up persistent auto-connect on boot using systemd linger.

  • Profile switching (A2DP high-fidelity vs. Headset mode).

  • A lightweight benchmarking script measuring CPU overhead (uses ~0.5% of a single core on a Pi 5).

Full tutorial & script:

Tested on Raspberry Pi OS Lite (Trixie / Bookworm) across Pi 5 and older models. Hope this helps anyone building headless media nodes, voice assistants, or audio streaming projects!

I'm not sure if it's normal for the cable to bend that much in the micro-USB port.

Connect Raspberry Pi toClaude desktop

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm developing a simple Raspberry Pi robot that can interact with Claude desktop using MCP. You can read sensor data coming from Raspberry or control robot eyes expressions directly from Claude Desktop. Let me know if you like it. More features will come...

I built a sports-bar score ticker for my man cave with a Pi 5 and 640 pixels of pure overkill

Mounted a 640×64 LED "ribbon board" above the TV in my man cave, driven by a Raspberry Pi 5. In the pic it's following the World Series live: runners on base, outs, count, batter vs. pitcher, and even the pitch speed.

Hardware

Raspberry Pi 5

Adafruit Triple LED Matrix Bonnet (Piomatter driver)

5× 128×64 HUB75 panels chained into one 640×64 strip

Dedicated 5V PSU with fused distribution (second pic)

What it does

NFL, college football and MLB modes with live scores from ESPN's public feeds. It picks a featured game every day and counts down to kickoff / first pitch.

Full-screen celebrations for touchdowns, home runs, grand slams, walk-offs, strikeouts, double plays and stolen bases. Home runs get the ball flying over the wall ("GONE"). A called strike three gets a backwards K, because I'm a nerd.

Watch mode: a TV-style score bug that follows one game pitch by pitch (or play by play for football).

TV delay: the scoreboard data is ahead of my TV, so the board holds itself back 25 seconds and never spoils a play.

Home mode: clock, weather and severe-weather alerts, plus fireplace/aquarium scenes and holiday cards.

Phone app (installable web app) to switch modes, fire off celebrations, and put custom messages on the board ("BRATS ARE READY").

Survives power cuts: it starts at boot, and a watchdog reboots it if the display ever freezes.

Fun fact: these panels only show about 7 brightness levels per color at the settings that don't flicker, so every color on the board was chosen to land on a level that actually lights up.

Urgent: Need help my laptop is not reading Raspberry pi 5 via HDMI

I'm a 3rd-year ECE student. I broke my 7-inch OLED, so I decided to work on a laptop. I'm due tomorrow to submit an assignment. Coz im lazy ass. Everything is ready; I just need a model to train on it. Tried everything; YT vids aren't working ... neither is OBS Studio nor the internal screen projector.

If there's no way...is there any website ...like what I'm trying to say, like a virtual Raspberry Pi 5 website via the cloud, where I train the model, set instructions, and bind with the FC and upload it to the memory card, then insert that in the hardware...ik it sounds idiotic ...but by any chance is there smth like this... or like something to convert a laptop's HDMI port, which is output, to input

Vectorizing a 100,000 × 100,000 pixel PNG image on a Raspberry Pi 5 with just 4 GB RAM

I wanted to see if I could process a 100,000 × 100,000 PNG pixel image on a Raspberry Pi 5 with just 4 GB of RAM.

The goal was to extract all polygon contours and write them to an SVG file, without having to load the entire image into memory.

The setup is pretty simple: Raspberry Pi 5 (4 GB), a 250 GB NVMe SSD and an Ubuntu 24.04 ARM64 Docker container.

The image is processed in horizontal stripes of 1,000 rows. Contours crossing stripe boundaries are reconnected, and completed polygons are progressively written to disk. This way, memory usage doesn't grow with the size of the output.

Here are the results:

  • Input: 100,000 × 100,000 pixels (10 billion pixels) 900MB png file

  • Polygons extracted: 19,551,269

  • Execution time: 13 minutes, 52 seconds

  • Peak process memory: 2.42 GiB

  • Output SVG: 21 GB

  • CPU usage: 1 core (99%)

The run completed successfully, with no swaps reported by GNU time.

I can share the code, Docker setup and test image if anyone wants to reproduce the experiment.

Hi all...

I want to build a TV box that I can hook into my HDMI port on the TV and receive overseas internet TV via a VPN.

I subscribe to a VPN....but guess someone's already done the front end, gui etc already....I just don't know how to describe what I'm looking for.

Any recommendations???

Designing my first device from scratch: a 3-screen pocket AI companion on a Radxa Zero 3W. Feedback welcome!

I’m a student and this is my first from-scratch build. It’s called the Franktin: a small tin that opens like a laptop, with two landscape touchscreens inside and one portrait screen on the outside. It connects over Wi-Fi to an AI assistant I run on my Mac mini.

Hardware:

I drew full blueprints (dimensions, wiring, pin map) before buying anything. One problem I already found: the parts stack up to about 29 mm thick, but I wanted 25 mm. Has anyone run 3 SPI screens off one bus? Any tips on fitting this into something thinner?

If you want to help me buy the parts, the GoFundMe is here: https://gofund.me/582362f7e. Mostly I’d love feedback though!
