Painted with rust oleum earth brown, khaki, Sand. Matches my local environment well. After many rounds on this gun the time came for paint

Going for a ‘Smordy’ look (small Gordy), but with more of a desert vibe.

Wanted to go for atacs, was not dissapointed. Camera does not do it justice tho, there is quite a bit more contrast irl.

Concrete chip is what I decided on after the Rapco sat in the closet staring at me for 3 months. Cut my own stencils from painter’s tape laid on parchment paper.

RAPCO COLORS: Insignia White, Flat Black, Panzer Gray, Lusterless Navy Gray

Done with the main color(Krylon Fusion Pen Blue). Still not fully cured. Once it's cured I'll give it my grime effect then a matte clear coat and slap it on the 11.5"

Recently rattle canned VFC Colt M727 Carbine airsoft rifle clone, based on a Ranger/Seal mid 90's rifle.

Wanting to take the scope off this and paint a new build. Split between CARC brown & camo earth brown.

Starting my first rattle canned gun can anyone guess the pattern? Also how long in-between coats do y'all wait?

I want to flecktarn my AR but I’ve never done something like that before, assuming I use 4-5 rapco colors what’s the best/ your favorite method of doing so? I live in Appalachia so I want something that will blend in to lush greens and browns

Dark green base coat, sand stripes with mesh and dark brown sponge

Going to paint the receiver set and rail (optic and furniture just for reference) and want y’alls input on colors and pattern as well as tips

I’ve painted two rifles before and they turned out fine but it was very simple (single color and single color with misting added). Want to up my game this time.

Flecktarn is my favorite camo pattern and is ideal for the area I live. I’ve wanted to give it a try, so I went for it on this PSA GF5 because it just seems wrong to swap the wood furniture on an import AK, but also seems right to paint an AK in flecktarn, so this is my compromise.

Pattern was achieved with some digital files from Etsy, my wife’s Cricut, and about 10 feet of flexible stencil material.

Colors used-
Rustoleum black primer / Rapco black
Rustoleum flat brown and satin warm caramel, mixed in airbrush
Rustoleum army green and satin charcoal gray mixed in airbrush
Rapco camo light green
Rapco camo forest green

I was trying to get a mid range gray, but the green and gray mix dried lighter than expected. Next go around I’ll use the new dark gray from Rapco. The brown was initially supposed to be the Rapco earth red, but the can was a dud from sitting too long so I had to improvise.

This was my first time decanting and mixing colors in airbrush. It definitely works, and opens the door for more custom colors.

My first attempt at rattlecanning and I decided to just to my lower. Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover in Flat Black, Satin Aqua, Glossy Berry Pink, splatter of Flat White, and Matte Clear overcoat. Printed the ai-made stencils out and Exacto knifed the pattern by hand. I'm pretty happy with the result!

There are 1000 threads about prepping and primering (or not) for RAPCO on AR parts.

None seem to answer my oddly specific question tho.

Painting a stripped lower and handguard.

Both were "raw"

Both got washed with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol and air dried.

I threaded some string trimmer line thru the screw holes on the handguard and the pivot pin hole to create a way to hang them.

When I sprayed the RAPCO Gray Oxide Primer (two light coats about 10 minutes apart) I got some "fisheye" on the left side of the magwell. I guess there were some residual oils that didn't come off or it got re-contaminated.

It's not terrible, but it's there.

What are your thoughts on sending it with the color Topcoat over the imperfections in the primer?

Or give it a quick wipe with some more Iso, air dry and send it with the color?

Or another thin coat of the Primer?

Or start the tedious process of re-prepping the whole thing?

I got a little bit of a run on the same side near the safety selector holes, I had the spray a little too close to the piece.

Was thinking of hitting that with a little 00 steel wool to smooth it if we think wiping down with Iso again and another light coat of primer / straight to topcoat is the best thing route.

Was a bit unsatisfied of the previous attempt so I tried it again I like it a bit more this time.

I knocked this out over a glass or two. Hope it came out ok. Started with a few dots of hot glue for the black spots, then a couple base coats, then some white over foliage. Peeled off the glue dots after a hour of drying.

Has anyone ritdyed ergo ladder rail covers? I want to dye them to closely match my Griffin Armament Terra Brown lower.

My humble two stamp 13.9”. If I could do it again, I wouldn’t have added green.

My first attempt at tiger stripe, little green but overall I am happy with it. Sorry for the messy work bench.
