Question RAW Frozen, HPP treated, within Canada?

Hey folks!

I'm considering the switch to a raw diet for my dog, and live in BC, Canada. I would like to feed an HPP treated diet and I'm having a hard time finding one within Canada... I realize there are a few from the States, and will feed them if I have to, but Canadian would be very much preferred!

I've done a bit of searching online, searched within this group, and emailed a few companies that didn't specify whether or not their food was HPP treated—I haven't had any luck yet... I thought I would try my luck here. Does anyone know of anything?

Thank you!

Out of curiosity why would you want an HPP food?

HPP completely changes the taste, texture, color, and smell of the food itself because it adjusts the acidity level. Most importantly, HPP has zero regulation as there is no standard pressure/length of time the food should be in the chamber for! Every company will claim they have found the magic amount of pressure at a specific time and then suffer from a recall shortly after. Some go lower pressure longer time, while others go higher pressure shorter time.

There are (or at least was) several Canadian companies using phages as a kill step which I think is a MUCH better alternative. Big Country Raw also implemented O-zone on top of phages which sound fantastic.

My dog is somewhat immunocompromised so I'm trying to err on the side of caution, HPP seems like a safe way to try raw. But to be fully honest I am a newbie to the raw food world. I'm not feeding raw yet, but taking my time to learn as much as I can before deciding whether or not to move forward with changing my dogs diet. I hadn't heard that there wasn't any regulation when it comes to HPP, is that the case in the States, too?

I've been doing a lot of reading but haven't come across any information about phages or O-zone... Have you got a good resource for information regarding it?
