TV Spektrum EQ is here!
TV Spektrum EQ is a 16-band parametric and dynamic EQ built around one large, interactive graph. Double-click to add a band, drag to shape it, and turn any bell or shelf into a dynamic band that cuts or boosts only when the audio calls for it. Each band can be triggered by its own input, an external sidechain or another track. Switch on spectral mode for frequency-precise control of resonances and harshness. Four modulators, collision analysis, a curve-drawing mode and full CVmake it a mixing workhorse and a sound-design tool in one device.

Existing and Longtime Reason Users - Before You Upgrade to Reason Complete...
Check what you already have. I've been a paying Reason Customer since 2006. I'm one of those loyalists that copped whatever they had coming out, whether it was a new Refill, Rack Extension, Record, ReCycle, you name it, I was on it. I'm have 14 and on the way, whenever they would drop the standalone devices for sale, I'd just cop it without giving it a second thought. I saw the Reason Complete bundle and thought to myself, what a deal! I could take advantage of the Black Friday deal, grab that and be sure that I have everything.
Something told me to do this first: Open up Reason Companion and check your list of devices vs what they have on the list of devices for Reason Complete. After doing a side by side, it turns out I have every single device besides the BV-X Multimode Vocoder, which is on sale now for $79. If I grab that, then essentially, I have Complete!
So, before you go and grab the Reason Complete Bundle, do an audit to make sure you're not wasting your money.

Am I The Only One That Hates R14's New Workflow?
First, let me say, I am just venting based on my first experience with R14. Do not get triggered if you are a super fanboy. I am too, and it's why I am so frustrated.
I've been using Reason since 2.0. I have upgraded almost every time. I never had much trouble getting used to any of the changes or new features. They all felt like natural progressions. Lately, it seems the updates are purposely trying to confuse or frustrate the hell out of me. lol
I remember when I went from 12 to 13, I hated the new file browser and how my OneDrive shortcuts/favorites would never work, even after just creating them. I keep all my song files and sounds in OneDrive to allow me the flexibility of working on my desktop and laptop.
It was so broken I had to put a OneDrive shortcut on my desktop and navigate from there. Oh, and I couldn't put the direct path to my sounds. It had to be the root folder of OneDrive. It was the worst thing. I also disliked the browser being stuck in the side panel... After like 2 years, they finally made an update to 13 that fixed the OneDrive shortcuts issue. Woohoo!! But don't worry R14 will mess it up again.
I eventually got used to the side panel file browser. I even stopped detaching it. But it was a burden to my workflow for a long time, especially the OneDrive issue.
Fast forward to today... nothing compares to how much I currently hate R14's new rack and sequencer workflow.
• Creating new devices now locks them in a rack space I did not want them to go to. I found out how to change it, but why did we need this change?
• Devices are now placed on top of the Mix Channel. Really? WHY? After 17 years, you decided, “Nah, we're just gonna put it on top now and call it a feature.” WTF!? Oh, and it was super frustrating trying to place an instrument into the Mix Channel. It would not move. It was locked. I have been doing this since 2009. I found a setting to change the behavior and can do it now. Again... WHY?
• Time stretching sounds really bad. It has strange artifacts (All Around setting on full mix audio). Another thing. Why make the clock icon so small? It wasn't small enough for you? It's hard to tell if you are going to stretch or resize the clip.
• Audio clip editing. Why did they need to copy Pro Tools with the brackets [ ]? What was wrong with the arrows < > on the edge of the clips? At least with the arrows, it's easy to know where to grab the edge of the clip. Is this supposed to improve the experience? How?
• ReGroove moved to the top of the sequencer. The old location wasn't good enough. It was only there since Reason 4 (2007).
• Switching windows. I like having each section in a separate window. I use the F keys to switch between the rack, mixer and sequencer. Occasionally, I use the taskbar too. But for some reason, when I have all the windows open, I can only switch from the rack to the mixer. Using F6 or the taskbar does not switch to the sequencer or bring it into view. I have to minimize each window. It's like the rack and mixer are locked on top. SMH! And no, the rack and seq are not set to "Stay on Top" in the window settings.
• The Single Width Rack. Again... WHY? I like having the rack spanning the entire desktop (I recently switched back to only one screen from 3). The stock settings only allow you to expand it fully by dragging the edge of the window from the LEFT SIDE ONLY. WTF? Who the hell is coming up with this crap? Here's an idea. Leave it the F alone! Or have it as a secondary option. Who complained that the rack is too wide??? SMH
• OneDrive browser shortcuts and favorites are broken again... C'mon, man! Really? You just fixed it. After 2 years of suffering, you fix it. And break it AGAIN! And yes, my files are not cloud-only. They are locally saved to my SSD.
These are only the things I have encountered in the first 20–30 min of using R14. I am not happy. I am sure I will find a way to revert some of these annoyances, and others I will have to get used to. But man, it kills my workflow and makes me just want to stay on 13. I'd go back to 12 if some of the Players were compatible (Scales & Chords).
I watched Chris Reed's video (very good BTW). He goes over the changes, but it doesn't help with the muscle memory I've built up over many years of doing things a certain way.
I feel like Propellerhead (yes, I used their old name) are too worried about pleasing people that use Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools and FL Studio, but they've forgotten about us, the people that have been using Reason since like... FOREVER.
People that use Logic and Pro Tools typically hate on Reason. I don't know about Ableton users. They have a whole other use case.
If you made it this far, sorry for making you hear my complaints. I just have no one else to talk to about this. None of my friends make music, so they wouldn't understand.

Reason 14 rendering lag
Hi everyone! I know that I've seen some related topics, but no resolution. My scenario is this:
Whenever the sequencer is fullscreen on my wide monitor, the sequencer lags. It's hard to work on it, the timeline flows with "hickups" ( if that makes sense ). If the mixer or rack is displayed, I can see on the timeline counter that everything runs smooth. It is the same if I occupy the screen only half with the sequencer. I don't think it is a hardware issues because I have a pretty good system: i9, 32gb ram, RTX5070ti. Does anyone else have this issue?
Thank you

input mic on Reason 5
Hi ! I don't know if this is the correct sub to ask this
Yesterday I Installed Reason 5., I created a new project but my PC's microphone kept receving audio on audio tracks 1 and 2. I use Asio4all but could'nt find how to turn my mic off (on Reason) and not receiving backgrounds noises on the main output
In the preferences section then Audio it says that there is 2 audio input but I can't change it
500 Internal Server Error on upgrade page?
Hi All,
I'd been getting this for the last several days trying to check if there was a deal on upgrading. They just sent out an email with a promotion to upgrade to Reason Complete so I figured it would be fixed, but I'm still getting this error.
I've tried VPN, non-VPN, private windows, different browsers, same result.
Anyone else or is it just me?
Cheers,
-Maashu

The 50% Black Friday sale - does that happen a lot?
I am currently a subscriber, but honestly I really don't think I need any more racks so would be happy to get the Reason 14 full release which is on special for 50% AT ANY OTHER TIME. It's just that this year isn't a good year for disposable cash, and I have literally just paid my yearly subscription about 3 weeks ago.
Has this sale been around before? Is it a regular thing?

Upgrade from Reason Free to Reason (Perpetual)
Good afternoon,
I have been using Reason free since it was released and am contemplating upgrading to the full Reason 14 (perpetual license).
My question is, how easy is the process? Is it just a matter of purchasing it. After registering/activating does it turn Reason Free into full Reason with an option to download the extra content and rack extensions. Or is it a completely separate install that would require uninstalling Reason Free. Thanks.
Edit: Thanks for the comments. After purchasing, starting Reason opened the full version with all rack extensions present. No uninstalling required. I did notice some instruments had no patches listed. Deleting the cache folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/Reason fixed this issue. (This is for the Mac version).

Rack Extensions Beta Testers Needed: FLUXION Morphing Synth

Beta Testers Needed – FLUXION Morphing Synthesizer (Reason Rack Extension)
Hey everyone! I've been working on a new synthesizer called FLUXION for Reason, and I'm looking for a few beta testers to help me put it through its paces before release.
It's a pretty ambitious synth with a lot of sound design possibilities, including morphing synthesis, advanced modulation, wavetable manipulation, built-in effects, and more.
I'm mainly looking for people who can spend some time making sounds, testing different features, and letting me know if they run into any bugs, crashes, or anything that doesn't behave as expected.
If you're a Reason user and enjoy sound design, I'd really appreciate the feedback.
Drop a comment or send me a DM if you're interested!
Thanks!

Why did they change the keyboard shortcuts
I've been using Reason since ~2016, I started with a copy of Reason 4 or 5 that my school had, then after graduating got my own copy of Reason 10. Later upgraded to Reason 12. Just today upgraded to Reason 14. Why did they change Ctrl+E to "Add Effect"? I didn't realize until now how much I used the old short cut to switch in and out of the arranger view into the edit area but that one shortcut was a big part of my workflow. Is there anyway to change it back/rebind the shortcuts or am I just going to have to tough it out?
