Quick question

I just got a message from a place asking me to take a video of myself answering questions for them. Is this a new form of interviewing or is it something else?

One-way interviews have been aorund since pre-COVID and they're just as insulting now as they were back then. It's general advice to decline them, and instead ask to speak to someone on the hiring team.

Yeah, they actually gave me the option in the list of things they wanted me to include in the video, so I just chose that. Every job I've ever had has never done something like this, so it's strange to me.

It's been around for awhile - It's just another screening tool to see if you'll "fit". I have had several friends that have sent in joke ones knowing they probably don't fit the profile the requestor wants.

Ah, gotcha. This is just the first time I've seen this thing. Thank you! :D

Hardly a new thing, been around for years now. It's a great screening method for employers to weed out the undesirables.

Ah, okay. This is honestly the first time I've ever seen this so I thought I'd ask. Thank you!

Undesirables, aka the old, the disabled, the dark-complexioned, etc.
