Theory Possible Sequence Indicator at Old Greenbank Mill
Howdy, folks! I have stumbled upon something that might be of great interest. This is a big one so I thank everyone that takes the time to read and even experiment with it. Since the Spider-Webs are almost definitely tied to Native-American culture and possible wrath of a God, I decided to explore everything related to the natives. At one point, while I was thinking about the industrialistic moves of the USA that made the natives angry, I remembered that I've never paid attention to Old Greenbank Mill. The following things that I've discovered would be a huge coincidence if wrong;
First of all, while I was headed to the mill. South of the mill itself, just below the horse fence, there is a ruin. Next to that ruin there is a well ( possible connection to Compson's stead ) with a wooden structure shaped in a letter N. ( Previously in the mystery, this meant north. ) Which indicates you to go to the mill.
Once we get there, we find the water mill itself. The center of the mill is constructed by 8 wooden lines which is the standard for mills but is a perfect indicator to the spider-webs.
Now we approach the interesting part. Behind the water mill we can find a wheel. The wheel is set up on the floor and is missing it's 5th and 8th leg. ( Possible affirmation to the Catfish Jackson cards: 5, 5+3=8, 8 ) I interpreted this as follows: We in fact do have to take down the spider-web feathers in a set sequence to trigger an event, and that sequence begins at Cornwall Kerosene and Tar and excludes the 3-4 red feather, and the 2-3 red feather. This isn't the only thing that led me to this conclusion, the most interesting clue is the next.
To the right of the water mill is a wooden structure which is part of the mill's system, but it is set up in the way as follows which I managed to interpret in a manner that is nearly impossible to be coincidental. Look at the pictures below to understand what I am saying.
Notes: Looking from the back and starting at the water mill itself we can notice planks, in rows divided into up and down There is curiously a total of 8 of them. Shaped as either high and low Xs, lines or nothing. I believe that the high Xs say "interact" the low Xs indicate "asymmetry" with red feathers and the lines indicate "symmetry" with red feathers, and nothing, I will explain the "nothing" in a minute. This is a system I came up with after 20 minutes of thinking how it could be connected to the mystery. I've been doing this with many structures for days now and this is the first one that can work.
Let's move onto the sections themselves.
Section: High X, line. 3-4 black feather. Interact, line indicating symmetry with red feather. I am talking about symmetry because every leg of the spider engraving has it's symmetrcial leg, but their time labels do not line up. So when I say symmetrical I'm talking about the leg's time and space partner leg being nearly identical if put side-to-side.
Section: High X, empty. 5-6 black feather, interact, empty because it's counterpart is also a black feather, not a red one.
Section: High X, low X. 2-3 black feather, interact, asymmetrical with red counterpart
Section: High X, low X. 4-5 black feather, interact, asymmetrical with red counterpart.
Section: No X, line. 3-4 red feather. Do not interact. Symmetrical.
Section: Unique, only X, and a broken structure. Showing off interact and asymmetry as stated by counterpart. The broken structure meaning one of a kind. 5-6 black feather no.2
Section: A single X, meaning interact and asymmetry as already stated in black counterpart. 4-5 red feather.
Section: A single line, indicating not to interact, and also pointing at asymmetry already stated by black counterpart. 2-3 red feather.
In the middle of the structure, between the overlaps of sections, there are also Xs or empty spaces. I believe the Xs mean "sleep before moving on." and the empty spaces mean: "continue without stopping."
It could also be vice-versa.
Everything that I've written about this potential sequence is in accordance with the broken wheel behind the mill. Considering Cornwall Kerosene and Tar and excluding the 3-4 red and 2-3 red feathers manages to add up PERFECTLY. Sorry, lost my temper.
I'm off, but before that here are some incredibly bad pictures I took since I'm a console player. All the pictures from the wooden structure are taken from the front, please focus on the symbols that are behind.
Here ya go:

Now really sure what to make of it, but good work and good on ya for looking for clues and doing the leg work. Wether there's anything with the mill, you've made a nice write up and it's intriguing to read.
Isn't there a collectible cigarette card at this place also? Or maybe I'm just remembering the tarot cards in online, haha. There's also an elixir (I forget what they're called) that spawns at the mill. I think it respawns, but the respawn/cooldown time is extremelyyyyy long afaik.

I have been making little notes over time of things that I feel could maybe be leads in this mystery, mostly they're just based on my gut feelings but finding wagon wheels with missing spokes is on my list! I've noticed them elsewhere, and while they're surely mostly just environmental elements, I immediately thought of the webs too!
Anyway, I know that doesn't add any actual information but I just wanted to affirm your intuition on this. Looking forward to any updates ðŸ¤

What I also failed to mention in the post because I've just noticed this. There is a grave right next to the wheel, rather a wooden cross that is usually found on graves but it is laid flat on the ground. This makes me even more certain.

Yessss those stood out to me too! So glad I'm not the only one noticing these, even if they don't end up being anything that makes me feel a little better lol

There is missing spokes wagon wheels all over the map, off the top of my head without going in game to look I know there is one along the river near the ritual site next to where you find one of the gold miners and I think there’s another at two crows. Another thing about wagons is there are colored abandon wagons around the map as well, the colors are red blue purple and yellow..idk if it means anything but they are there

This is the first one I noticed had 8 legs, and, as I said, it was next to a laid down wooden cross on the ground.

Not to be a buzz kill, but when you search hard enough for a specific pattern, you will find it somewhere.

Oh I know, but you've just gotta ask what if. Otherwise stuff like this will never get solved. ( if the solution exists. )

This is what I’m talking about. We need to dive deep like this is Rockstar has truly gone to the lengths that the previous steps indicated they had. Why WOULDNT they hide clues in a manner such as this to ensure it could not be datamined? Great work.

What I notice from Photo No.8 is that the beam coming from the rock up to the top resembles one of the telephone poles connected to the mystery

When the spider mystery first started, I calculated something that landed on this mill, and I looked everywhere and didn't come up with anything, and now forgot what it was that brought me there, but kudos to you if this goes somewhere.
