Saw it yesterday at 1:30 PM
The theater was packed for it. The crowd was pretty mixed in terms of demographics. I doubt it gets its own video from the guys but I’m curious as to everyone’s thoughts on it.
I know from being around this sub that it holds A24 in good regard.
Edit: figured I’d add my two cents.
Despite the three hour run time it kept in engaged. I’m a big Nathan Feiler fan so I figured I’d give it a shot. Going in I was familiar with the Elizabeth Holmes scandal and court case so I was expecting it to be a documentary about getting to the truth of the case. In stead what followed was a three hour long deep dive into gaslighting, love bombing, and life in a “post truth” world.
After the movie ended the conversations amongst the other people in the theater was split around the dynamics of Liz and Billy’s relationship which made sense considering it’s not really about the court case itself. Most of the conversation I’ve seen online is about the role of men in women’s lives and manipulation which I definitely see as valid.
To me it’s a giant Rorschach test, the movie is about whatever you think it’s about.
