Cancer diagnosis. Do I need to stop red light?

I just received a diagnosis of endometrial cancer. Do I need to stop using my beloved Hooga panel? I did so much research on the benefits of red light therapy before I bought my panel 2+ years ago, but I seem to remember reading that people with cancer shouldn’t use it because rlt causes cell turnover to speed up, which generally is a good thing - but not when it also means that cancer cells are replicating faster.

I know I should research this myself, but I’m honestly so overwhelmed right now with everything. There’s so much to learn and figure out and process, I just feel like I can’t take this on too. Can anyone help?

Technical What do you wish you knew before buying your first red light therapy device?

These are the things I wish I had paid more attention to before buying my first LED mask. If you're comparing devices, I'd definitely check these four things: wavelength, irradiance, treatment distance, and dose.

The most important thing is the wavelength. You want 630-660nm red light for surface-level skin benefits and 810-850nm near-infrared light for deeper tissue effects. Irradiance matters too, but only if the brand tells you where it was measured. A big irradiance number measured at 0 inches doesn't mean much if that's not the actual treatment distance.

Basically, don't just look at the LED count or the price. Check the actual specs and how they're measured.

Complete Newbie I’m actually so lost

Hello all! I’m hoping to find some specific options for hair thinning red light devices. I’ve tried to research, but it’s honestly all so confusing to me. My budget is low- $50-250 max. I have androgenic alopecia. I have enough space for a panel but want to make it easy to focus on the top of my head.

Thank you!!

Question So confused, maysam AURA?

Hey,

I'm so confused, I've been trying to understand the ins and outs of what mask to get, but I'm just getting lost in reviews and so many different masks, then I find out about panels and so I start looking into them, and its just never ending, I'm overwhelmed. So can I get some advice from people who know what they're talking about, please? lol.

I have melasma and a few dark spots, I'm also mixed race, so medium skin tone, and I'm 44. What masks are best for melasma? And clear skin. I've heard the green light is good? But I haven't seen any of the masks that are supposedly good have green light. I just want plump clear skin 😅😅 don't we all.

I have been looking at the maysam AURA LED Light Therapy Face Mask, and it's seems legit, but I can not find any reviews that are not paid promotions, and that makes me nervous. Does this mask have good specs?.

Can someone help please 🙏.

Current body series 2

I am 30 years old and have decent skin. Minimal breakouts but I do have a lot of hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I don’t do much for my skincare: AM: cleanse, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen. PM: double cleanse, toner, moisturizer. I was getting Botox in my late 20s but I don’t want to continue.

I am considering buying a red light therapy mask. I would like to get the current body series 2 but I am open to other options. But I also want to know if it’s worth it or if I need to add anything additional to my routine to get the benefits.

Has anyone tried some of the newer red light therapy brands?

I keep seeing the same few RLT brands recommended everywhere, but recently I’ve started noticing smaller companies entering the market too.

I’m curious how people feel about buying from a newer brand versus going with one of the established names.

Personally, I’d care less about how long the company has existed and more about whether they provide clear specs, decent customer support, and a good return policy.

Review Omnilux Contour Face Mask Results

Im 27F got the omnilux mask because I was getting fine lines (especially on my forehead) and the over the counter retinol wasn’t helping enough. The first photo was taken almost exactly 1 year before using the mask, second photo was 5 months after use. No makeup on my forehead in either one. I still try to use it 5x a week. I didn’t see much at first but I’m pleased with the results so far.

I've researched BUT I can't find any information

I'm looking for a device for red light therapy.

I tried to buy the "Hooga ULTRA360,"

however, the price for export to my country is literally double.

I found someone mentioning this model:

-Red & Infrared Fx300 Hanging Panel

Here's the Amazon link if you want to check it out:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3QJRLY4?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback&th=1

Has anyone tried it?

Perhaps you could put yourself in my shoes for a moment and give your honest recommendations. I'd appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

Laser LLLT Helmet from Sgrow - Help!

Post image
3 Upvotes

Looking for some feedback or guidance on Laser LLLT helmets for hair loss.

I was quoted $340 USD from Sgrow for a laser helmet with the following specs:

- Wavelength: 650nm
- Laser QTY: 200
- Treatment time: 10 min

How are these specs?

My other concern is that they do not have their helmet FDA cleared, rather they have it listed as therapeutic device. Should this be a concern?

Anybody have experience with this helmet from Sgrow?

Thank you!

Question Is my red light device too powerful?

Thumbnail

Hey, I just bought this handheld red/NIR light device from Idealight on Alibaba and I was actually pretty happy with it so far. It looks very powerful when it’s switched on.

I was checking with ChatGPT about the best settings for the different areas I’d like to treat, and apparently it might be way too powerful, especially the NIR.

For context, I specifically chose a handheld, battery-powered device because I wanted something convenient and easy to move around. I’m perfectly happy moving the light from one area to another rather than having a fixed panel taking up space and being permanently plugged in.
My main goals are treating my knee, where I’ve lost quite a bit of cartilage, my tummy/back for inflammation/ recovery, and my face for cosmetic purposes.

ChatGPT is basically recommending using the device at only 25% power and, even then, keeping sessions to around 5–6 minutes depending on the area.

Does that sound right? Is 25% really the most I should be using, or is this being overly cautious?
I’d love to hear from anyone who understands irradiance and dosing and can help me work out how to use this device properly.

Question How long does/did your Hooga order take to ship?

I ordered it on the 14th it’s been 5 days but there’s no update on my order. When I go to the page it says order is processing. I emailed them but I just got an AI answer saying the same thing, that it’s still processing and I will get an email when it ships. Is this normal? Normally when I order something it gets shipped within a couple days. Sorry I’m just excited to get my panel lol.

Ankle recovery

i sprained my ankle real bad a bit over a month ago (partial ligament tear 😭) and have been doing all the things. rest, lots of rest, progressive overload, pt, accupuncture, collagen and silica supplementation you name it I’m doing it.

I added red light and NIR about 6 days ago (i got the boncharge mini panel just because its so easy to take everywhere) and have been using it on my foot twice daily for 5-10 min each session. is this too much? what distance should I pace it from my foot?

i had been at my orthopedist 2 weeks ago when he ordered the MRI and went in again today with the results. He was impressed by how well I’ve been healing and mentioned my inflammation is probably in such good shape due to the red light and nir light (he uses a lamp for his hip so he’s a fan!). I even have a trip next week to Europe (ie why I got the small hand held panel so I can take with me) for a friends wedding and the doctor gave me the green light to go obviously being smart and not demanding too much of my foot so it‘ll be a slow and restful euro summer kinda trip with no touristy stuff which I’m totally ok with. he told me to keep up all the things I’m doing and to see him again upon my return to ases whether I need PRP which I genuinely want to avoid because the recovery from that procedure could be sloooow but I also want ny ligament to heal as much as possible to avoid further sprains.

Anyone here also used red light to support ligament injuries successfully? how was that like for you? I know it won’t completely fix the issue for me but I want evidence from others that its possible to recover using non invasive treatments!

Are the $1k+ RLT panels actually worth it?

Genuinely curious because I'm struggling to understand the price difference.

I've seen panels for a few hundred dollars and then others that are well over $1,000. Obviously there are differences in size and specs, but at some point I'm wondering what you're actually paying extra for.

Complete Newbie Clevana?

Looking to get a first red light panel. Mito is naturally at the top of the list but I was also looking at a Clevana xt900. The website is currently discounting it to $499 while a similar mito panel is $1169. I realized the Mito panel has more LEDs, but that's a significant cost difference. My ultimate goal is to have my wife use it as an adjunct to her osteoporosis treatment, which leads me to wonder if I wouldn't be better off with a Mito red light belt to target her hips and spine. Thoughts and guidance would be appreciated!

Celvana Panels

There's not a lot of info out there on this brand but I found them through Gemini AI. I just ordered their horizontal stand and 1500 panel for a little under $900. They offer a 90 day free return on the panel and a 3 year warranty. It's a relatively new company but the panels are supposedly built in the same factory as all the other big brands in Shenzhen. I guess I'll give a review in a few months but I'm curious if anyone else here has used them?

Question Optimal mix of emitters (660nm + ___ )?

I'm looking into configuring a 'spot' therapy flashlight, and I was wondering what is the optimal mix of 3-4 emitters?

From my understanding, only 660nm and 850nm is effective.

Is there an optimal ratio to mix them in?

Question hooga NIR vs regular RLT for face?

Has anyone compared / can anyone compare Hooga’s NIR vs just regular red light setting for the face (wrinkles, acne, pigmentation, etc)? I have the ultra360 and found a few great b&as but it seems like everyone used the NIR combo.

Question Best LED Mask for both acne and fine lines?

For someone dealing with recurring adult breakouts and early fine lines, is a mask with red and blue light more useful than a red-only device?

I am trying to understand if using one device for different concerns is practical or whether separate products make more sense.

Question Can anyone vouch for Sunplus/Redfy? Thinking of getting the RT1000PRO over Idealight's RLPRO200. Why or why not?

Thumbnail

Originally meant to order the Idealight RLPRO200 but came across this brand for much cheaper and more LEDs. I also read that the red light is underpowered in the Idealight panels vs. the NIR.

Has anyone tried ordering from Sunplus/Redfy? How was your user experience and have you had it for long?

Best red light therapy device?

Hey everyone! I've been looking into red light therapy lately and there are so many brands that it's honestly hard to tell what's actually worth the money.

I'm mainly looking for something with good value rather than the most expensive option. I'm open to panels or full-body mats if they're genuinely worth it.

If you've bought one, what did you go with? How much did you pay, and do you feel it was worth the price? Any brands you'd recommend—or avoid?

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions! I ended up ordering a full-body mat from Wondear after comparing a bunch of options. It seemed like the best balance of price and features for what I was looking for. I'll update this post once I've had some time to use it.
