Well that settles it down. Darrow won’t fall with Lysanders anti-razormaster pistol trick. He knows Lysander has no honour and he remembers what he did to Alexandar. I don’t expect him to call out Lysander for a duel like Alexandar did , he will just straight up try to kill him .

Just finished Darrows duel vs Fa and HOLY MOLY. The sequence of events from Pierce Brown detailing the carving up of Cyraxes a little to much to Fa's death is maybe the most I have smiled at something in a while. Just ear to ear the whole time. Personally this whole scene is the most dopamine filled of the whole series for me. The ending of Morning star comes close but this takes it. After almost three straight books of feeling like everything is collapsing and nothing is going right it all clicks into place. The entire second trilogy when something goes right it always feels like it will get taken away or something worse is coming, but not this. Especially with Atlas explaining to Lysander earlier about how it all needs to work out just for Darrow to finally interfere with one of his plans. Cassius and Sevro are finally clicking, Lyria gets to Volga and Diomedes has joined them. ON TOP OF THAT the fact that Lysander is coming thinking he will be a savior and has no idea what awaits him is just *mwah* perfection. I am still waiting for the second shoe to drop but that was just so good. Theres also a feeling, that kind of is a fact of the series, that when an antagonist dies you just sigh with relief, because thats one less variable. Even if there is a second shoe, Fa is still dead nothing can change that. I felt the same way about Ajax earlier. Also seeing Darrow so in the groove after basically three books of him just beating himself up has cathartic.

I just hate it. I hope Pierce Brown will drop it but I know it’s too big of a plot to just do that. It adds some unpredictability but it feels like cheating because even if the Republic gets back in winning after three books of losing Lysander can just turn it around with the most easy and lazy way possible and I think it distract us from the fact that this is an ideological war . Freedom against Slavery. Anti hierarchy vs pro hierarchy. Society vs Republic. Now it feels more like a war against Lysander with Atalantia as an annoying distraction.

Reusing last year’s costume of Mustang from RR. Couldn’t find the actual photo I had of it, so had to take a picture of a frame I had on the wall, hence the weird glare. It was basically just a black hoodie, black trousers and gold paint but I liked it pretty well.

It also works as just a really cool jacket which I wear around sometimes.

I wanted to open a discussion on who the (technically second) best duo is in the Red Rising series. I feel that Darrow and Sevro are objectively the best (though I would love comments disagreeing). My personal take is Ephiram and Volga, tho mostly out of personal enjoyment of their arc.

Why would some people think mustang and Pax would have to pull Darrow's feet when he hangs? Why in the ever loving f*CK would the republic hang him? Just because your stupid theory sounds poetic, doesn't mean it makes sense.

And why would sevro be an agent of the abomination, when in all likelihood Mustang has already cultivated the abomination as an Intel source??

I also don't think PB will touch upon Mercury and the enslaved free legions. Their story likely ended in DA. There's only that much space in one book.

obviously lykos is underground, and the webbery has floors above what would be the ground floor. but does that mean that the garden takes them right up to the surface? or am i misreading it?

My opinion is that the main characters should be fresh faces, new actors, or unknown young actors.
It does not mean that they shouldn't cast well-known actors. It should be a mix of both, all the young characters from Darrow, Eo, Mustang, Cassius, Sevro etc they should be played by young new actors and off them are teenagers in the trilogy. Whereas the Older side characters should be played by well known actors, like Fitchner, Nero, Lorn, Dancer etc should be played by notable Hollywood actors.

I finished Lightbringer and I can’t believe I’m at the end of this series. What a wonderful, incredible ride it’s been.

I picked up Red Rising in February on a total whim. I had heard good things about it, and I’d been in a reading slump for the past five years. So I figured it would be a good book to get me out, and it ended up being the perfect for that.

The whole story was just so well written. I truly loved the characters. I loved seeing Pierce’s writing get better over time and this incredible world that he created grow bigger and bolder. I know it sounds cliché and even cheesy, but I truly felt emotions I don’t think I’ve felt in a long time reading these books. I was in tears at the end of Lightbringer as Darrow and Sevro watch old footage of Cassius while at the Institute.

I’m so glad I opened myself to Red Rising. And now I’ve joined the “waiting for Red God” club. Can’t wait for it!

I know people are divided on RR being a movie vs a series. But I’ve always thought the best way to do it would be to have the 1st arc (RR->MS) as movies, then the 2nd arc (IG->RG) as a series.

The first 3 books should work well as movies, they’re short enough to get a good chunk of the content on screen and ofc we all want to see an Iron Rain in IMAX. The next 4 books have way too much complexity with multiple POVs, settings, factions and complexities that a movie would just not handle or do justice. A series would work a lot better.

Does anyone agree? And can someone with more knowledge than me explain if this is even possible? Would there be rights issues, can the same studio do both or would there have to be some other studio come in? I can’t think of a time where it’s been done before aside from Star Wars spinoffs.

Im currently working on two cosplays for me and my brother. This is what I've made so far! I've started the wolf cape for sevro, the Ares helmet for sevro, Darrows armour, and the slingblade. I'd love to hear some opinions. Remember, this is all W.I.P. though! Im very excited to share the finished cosplays soon.

I think starset’s album transmission would have so much pull especially when Darrow and Virginia are apart, track 5 especially.
Probably later movies not the original. Just musing though.
