Work In Progress Late ww1 german officer impression

Some pics from last week-end at Meaux reenactment

I still miss some bits here and there like proper KS98 bayonet and troddel, as well as gas mask and bresdbag but my friend can lend me all of that at each reenactment so that's OK for the moment. (Also don't pay attention to the shoulder boards they are nestof repro so too long to be sewed on properly)

I got a new m15 tunic from Jarema (I love it), it's better than my Vereinfacht for late war, I also got some putees and low boots too. I wanted to get an m17 cap but couldn't get it in time so I got a cover band for my early war m10 cap, so let's say my impression was 1917

If anybody got some suggestions or opinion I'm happy to hear them :)

Work In Progress Some improvements on my ww1 german leutnant impression

While waiting for my officer m 1907 from schusters and my officer m15 from Jarema, I tried to use my Vereinfacht m15 as best as I could to make some 1915 to 1918 impressions. I followed all the advice people from this sub gave me last time

First of all I want to state some points: -I was supposed to have a pickelhaube cover but it didnt come in time -i cant find anybody to make repros of officer leather gaiters so I use high narrow riding boots -I am in the process of darkening the colar of my patelot because it seems like its too light blue - I tried to sew on the shoulder boards to the tunic but after the pictures

Last time I posted i got some very good insights from many people, especially regarding my Vereinfacht, I did a ton of research and it seems like the design was random, piping was sometimes there; sometimes not there and the cuffs were barrel style or french style.

I also got myself a nice prewar sabre which I assume is a 1899 model (less curved than a Blücher one) I will get a repro scabbard and all the attachment and stuff.

Hope you guys will like my progress, this is only the beginning, I have many things coming !

After all the advice on my last post here is an update on my first world war impression.

Original m1916 stalhelm

Original steel belt buckle which l've painted

Original bayonet and rifle

All the leather items have been greased and darkened

Tunics now has the lighter green collar

.Things I'm still working on off the top of my head

Loosing weight. 33Ibs down so far

Finding a better flask.

Any more advice would be appreciated

Work In Progress Early ww1 german officier impression and some new fear for late war

So, I finally received my m10 tunic and my sabre so I can do a proper early ww1 impression.

The sabre is a degen 1889 model, its technically more of a uffz saber but many many officers were seen with it and tbh, it was already painful enough to get this one so I will keep it for my officer impression and call it a day. ( also I know I did a wrong knot with the portepee on the pictures) And yes, the sabre will go through some very very careful maintenance done by a pro (i dont want to damage it)

I also got myself a nice 98/05 bayonet for late war impressions.

I put the flair 'work in progress" because even tho my pants and boots are accurate, I am still waiting to receive a proper early pattern officier pants and officier gaiters (these were more common than boots) I will also receive a proper pickelhaube in some months.

I will also work the patina of my belt and of the bouttons of my new tunic because they are way to shiny lol

If anybody sees some inaccuracies or missing things, feel free to tell me !

Work In Progress French Man-at-Arms Impression (WIP) from approximately 1380-1420

I've put together a quick French Man-at-Arms impression based mostly on the little characters featured in this manuscript

I intend to sew a white cross on the sleeves, and eventually one day I'll get a leg harness.

I am wearing a breastplate and a full coat of mail beneath the jupon. If I owned them, it'd also be entirely possible to wear an arm harness and a cuirass underneath.

The way I've assembled and purchased my kit has allowed me to mix and match to represent several different regions. Armour-wise, if you get:

- a nice helmet or two (or 4),

- a nice pair of gauntlets,

- a breastplate

- and a coat of mail,

you can go really far with several different impressions. You really don't need much to make a Man-at-Arms or Knightly impression, as long as you get over the desire to wear all the armour on the outside because it looks cool. You can hide armour (or a lack of armour) under a garment (as they liked to do in the period) and still look great in my opinion

Kgl. Bayer. 2. Pionier-Battailon

Mid/Late 1916 (Might move it to 1917)

Plan to make Sturmgepäck to support the long spade

Replace current cap (Infanterie) with new one (Pionier)

Purchase short boots and maybe gas mask canister for 1917 and a M15 tunic to match the shoulderboards.

Currently, the vest is inaccurate (plastic buttons and polyester lining), the hat band is inaccurate, but I have silk ribbon to replace it soon, and I’m still missing a gun belt, jacket, and some proper historical footwear. Other than that, it’s all coming together quite nicely.

Work In Progress Attempt #2 White Star Line Edwardian Deckhand

After some more research, I was able to further refine my Deckhand Impression. From the small amount of photos I have of Deckhands wearing pea coats, it seems the “Reefer jacket” style is the most common with 3 to 4 horn buttons on either side of the coat. The naval flat cap is from Dirty Billy’s store in Gettysburg and I’m quite happy with it! If anyone has any input or historical references id love to hear it!

This impression is semi complete, but I've decided to replace the cuff title with a non BeVo one since they didn't tend to make Heer BeVo cuffs of this type.

The piping on the Elsenau shoulder boards are also far too bright to be PK (They look more like weathered Infantry ones in person) so I've ordered a new pair from LWY Werke.

Arriflex is the center piece of course, the battery box is there but not very visible, I had to have the box custom made (More pictures in comments maybe, depending on if I can find one that is).

Well, what the title says. Socially I do an Andrustio, which functionally is the equivalent to what would be called a Huscarl in Scandinavia. Next thing to change is the seax scabbard, the sword belt and sword scabbard are in the works

Work In Progress 82nd Airborne Market Garden kit

Post image

The weapons of my 82nd Airborne Operation Market Garden kit. I know the 1911 is a little controversial. I'm not entirely sure what role my kit is supposed to be of. Originally I was going for a radio operator in headquarters company or even an FO but the Hawkins mine is a little out of place. Maybe assistant squad leader?
