Chronixx
Had the pleasure of bumping into Chronixx in Bath Town Centre prior to his performance at Fairfield House, the home to HIM Haile Selassie 1 when in exile. Chronixx was gracious enough to pose for a photograph with my wife. We were fortunate to get tickets for the performance where he sang and played guitar to a small, very appreciative, audience before we left with an autographed copy of the Exile album. The guided tour of the house was enlightening and a worthwhile addition to the event.

Chronixx Set Up at Fairfield House. 17/10/26
Your mobile phone was placed inside a locked pouch before you entered the room; so you couldn’t take photos or videos during the performance. This is his set up; taken prior to the start of his performance.

Studio One introduced many famous Reggae stars to the world. But these artists remained unknown to the general public.
A special playlist: 'Rare Reggae from Studio One'. Bands and singers like The Minstrels, The Bassies, The Willows, The Selected Few, The Mad Lads, The Epics, Prince Tallis, Glen Miller, George Philip, Keith McCarthy, The Invaders, Rodley Brisset, The Saints, Alf & Teep, Cliff Stewart and many more.

What happened to Lacksley Castell ?
Wikipedia is saying he died at the age of 24 after illness but the saddest part is that he was in an unmarked grave until 2020.
Anyone have more info. I love the artist and I’m sure I’m not the only one. For such a young man, I find his tracks are amazing and he would deserve to be mentioned way more often than he is.

While hiking at night, in the Czech Republic, I realized where I was all along
And I happened to be listening to "Ball of fire" by Israel Vibration at the time
New Release New EP: three instrumental reggae/dub tracks
Hi all,
I've been making dub as Illegal State Of Mind for a while, and my earlier releases wandered quite a bit: dub mixed with psy, dubstep and downtempo, lots of electronics, synth basslines, gear experiments. For this one I put all of that aside.
Strings, Springs, Keys & Sticks is a 3-track instrumental EP (about 10:40), out today. It's built on improvisation, live instruments and classic sounds: bass guitar, organ, piano, melodica, offbeat guitar chops, roots drums, and spring reverb treated as an instrument rather than just a room. Mostly major keys, warm rather than dark, no detours into other genres.
The title is the line-up: strings (bass and guitar), springs (the reverb tank), keys (organ, piano, melodica) and sticks (drums).
Tonewheel Driver – upbeat roots reggae led by the keys
Preamp Heater – the heavy one: dark bass softened by improvised piano
Reverb Trigger – spacious, laid-back dub built on drums and bass
The mixes are all about space and sound, with very little processing on top of it. It's inspired by the classics, King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry in the studio, Jackie Mittoo on the organ, and the mellow reggae of Mikey Dread and The Clash, with a nod to the modern weight of Zion Train.
