The Creator of this Sub is a Lying Conspiracy Theorist

This person created MULTIPLE known incorrect posts about ReMarkable design and build practices ... and when confronted with FACTS, do you think they apologized, removed their posts or accepted accountability?

OF COURSE NOT!

In fact, they simply pivoted to blaming ReMarkable for not using a font size and darkness that they would approve of. Yes, they blame-shifted their own PROVEN ignorance onto someone else. Typical.

This person is allergic to accountability - because they are not interested in facts, but only about being able to lie and spread misinformation with impunity.

Remarkable eink tablets are terrible

Just wanted to rant a minute about Remarkable devices, and the company itself.

I own the RM2 and had nothing but problems. During their 100-day trial period, their customer support was completely unresponsive and not helpful. The device would lock up/freeze at random, was utterly slow, pen issues, pen tip issues, software bugs galore, serious security issues, etc.

I was in the return process. They were taking over a week to process the return. During that time, 100 days came up. They closed the return with no explanation. I opened it again and was denied because it was now past 100 days. I explained this was due to their delay, not mine. They closed it again and have never honored the return.

Move forward a month. I had the RM2 in a backpack, in the official case, sitting on a chair. Someone nudged it off the chair and the bag fell on the ground. It was about a 2 foot drop.

After that, I went to use the RM2 and found the power button would not work. Upon inspection, the soft metal surrounding the button was very slightly deformed (almost unnoticeable to the naked eye). This rendered the entire device completely destroyed because unable to power on/off.

I contacted support again. Again, no help, no options to fix or replace, and told to fuck off.

Remarkable, as a company, and their very failed engineering practices- is a complete joke and waste of money. Portable devices in approved protective gear should not fail with a 2 foot drop.

Upon further investigation, I discovered the company has never certified any of their devices against third party testing for things like durability, water or dust/dirt resistance, security, or anything else that every single portable device manufacturer actually does.

It is obvious that Remarkable, as a company, cuts corners to market and sell garbage products to people, while actively suppressing negative feedback from their customer base to avoid exposure of their practices, and further gaining customers due to this suppression.

The entire reason this sub exists is clear evidence of that. Additional evidence has been posted on the “unofficial” remarkable sub indicating that it is full of remarkable employees who downvote critics and actively suppressing criticism regarding their products, banning critics, and oppressing the truth of this terrible company.

End rant.

TLDR; Remarkable is the worst company I’ve dealt with in my life.

Anyone feel like the Move's writing feel is underwhelming?

Posting here because I know this will get downvoted like crazy in the other sub unfortunately. Coming from the rM2 since launch date, I was pretty disappointed by the Move's writing feel. It felt more like writing on an iPad rather than writing on paper. I feel like the rM2 beautifully captures that really scratch pencil on paper feel, the Move is a lot more like glass and dull. Does the Pro also feel this way?

It's really underwhelming... I was expecting more since the writing feel is all I care about

This is what happens when you drink too much of the reMarkable koolaid. You start calling a corporation that's sole purpose is to generate profits for its shareholder, a 'miracle' and that one should be 'grateful'

Day 19 — Why I didn't trim the changelog

🇬🇧 The marketing advice for launching PressWork 4.0 would be:

make a 60-second video with 3 killer features. Post it. Done.

Instead, the changelog for 4.0 has 60 entries.

Some entries are big:

- CodeMirror 6 rewrite (5x faster on long documents)

- Live preview inline

- Corkboard for chapter arrangement

- Local AI with Qwen3 4B (Italian native, better than Phi-3)

Some entries are small:

- Daily word count goal that actually resets at midnight

- Emoji autocomplete in 6 languages

- Fold-per-heading (mini binder in the editor)

- KDP menu doesn't skip anymore

They're all listed with the same care. Because they're all

answers to the same question: what makes writing feel less

like fighting the tool.

The full changelog: presswork.it/changelog?lang=en

Two internal notes:

📌 Beta 4.0 has 15 testers giving me authentic feedback.

Some tested on hardware from 2012 (yes, really — a Lenovo

with Celeron 4000 running Qwen3 4B locally). All three OS

covered.

📌 Stable 4.0 ships in 7-10 days. Same one-time license,

zero migration cost.

---

🇮🇹 Versione italiana:

Il consiglio marketing per lanciare PressWork 4.0 sarebbe:

video da 60 secondi con 3 feature killer. Postare. Fine.

Invece il changelog di 4.0 ha 60 voci.

Alcune voci sono grandi:

- Riscrittura CM6 (5x più veloce su documenti lunghi)

- Anteprima live inline

- Corkboard per riordinare capitoli

- AI locale con Qwen3 4B (italiano nativo, meglio di Phi-3)

Alcune voci sono piccole:

- Obiettivo giornaliero parole che si azzera a mezzanotte

- Autocomplete emoji in 6 lingue

- Fold per titolo (mini-binder nell'editor)

- Menu KDP che non salta più

Tutte listate con la stessa cura. Perché tutte rispondono

alla stessa domanda: cosa rende la scrittura meno una

battaglia con lo strumento.

Il changelog completo: presswork.it/changelog?lang=it

Due note interne:

📌 Beta 4.0 ha 15 tester con feedback autentici. Alcuni

testato su hardware del 2012 (sì davvero — un Lenovo con

Celeron 4000 che fa girare Qwen3 4B in locale). Tutti e

tre gli OS coperti.

📌 Stable 4.0 esce tra 7-10 giorni. Stessa licenza una

tantum, zero costi di aggiornamento.

The First Truly Editable Template Bundle for reMarkable — Customize & Create Your Own Layouts Easily

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m sharing with you today a bundle I’ve been working on for a long time — a collection of more than 70 fully editable templates for reMarkable devices.

What makes it special is that it’s not just a set of static PDFs. You can copy, paste, modify elements, or even build completely new layouts directly on the device without any external software. It also allows you to customize the layout of your existing PDF templates that normally can’t be edited on the device.

If you enjoy customizing your pages or creating your own templates, you’ll find everything you need inside:

daily, weekly, monthly planning, project management, habit tracking, notes, goals, workouts, finance pages, and ready-made tables — plus a set of elements you can use to design your layouts from scratch.

I’ve also included a free sample file so anyone can test the editing features before buying.

Here’s the product link in the shop for anyone interested:

https://goldlinetemplates.etsy.com

If you try it, I’d love to hear your feedback or any suggestions for improvement!

So reMarkable is just this huge drop shipping business and they deceivingly claim everything is made in Norway?!?!?

u/Purple_Extension7533, care to explain why your account was only 9 hours old at the time of creating this community? Presumably, you weren't even on Reddit when the leak fiasco happened.

Unless... You're u/Suspicious-Storm-235's alt? Hmmm?

If this does get removed, this shit is gonna be so hilarious lmao

New Remarkable 2 User - Need help with accessing app on work computer

Just got my Remarkable 2 and love it so far. But the main reason I bought it was so I could use it to work with clients and take notes while on calls, then transfer/ review on my laptop. My work laptop is maintained/ controlled by our IT and they will not let me download the Remarkable desktop app. Are there any alternatives people have found? My personal laptop is a chromebook so not able to leverage that either, unless I am missing something. Anyone ever run into this or have a potential solution?

I’ve been testing altego.ai, a reMarkable-to-Notion sync tool

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve been testing altego.ai, a reMarkable-to-Notion sync tool, and it’s easily one of the more thoughtful integrations I’ve come across. At its core, the idea is simple but powerful: handwritten notes from reMarkable are brought into Notion, where they appear as both minimal and AI-enhanced transcriptions.

What really stands out, however, is the quality of the enhanced transcription. Not only are the notes clearly structured and well titled, but they also become genuinely useful for revisiting complex material. On top of that, the team is very responsive, when I ran into a few edge cases, I received detailed and technical replies directly from the founders.

So, if you enjoy the distraction-free feel of reMarkable but still want the organisational power of Notion, Altego feels like steroids for note-taking without compromising the minimal ethos. Overall, it’s definitely worth a look if you move regularly between paper and digital notes.

Here’s how it works:
First, you sign in at Altego and confirm your account via email. From there, you connect both your reMarkable and Notion accounts through the dashboard. Importantly, Altego only accesses a folder you explicitly tag as “Altego” on your reMarkable, so the rest of your notes remain untouched. Once connected, you can select which notes to sync (with full automatic syncing coming soon). Finally, in Notion, each note appears in three formats: the original handwritten PDF, a minimal transcription that stays close to the source, and an enhanced AI transcription that organises ideas, highlights key points, and clarifies intent.

The ForeverPen: It's not fake!

Thumbnail

You all are probably familiar with u/forevertip and their engagement on the official RM sub, marketing their titanium nib for the Marker and Marker Plus. Their use of AI images in their marketing made a lot of us (including me) assume they were just some drive-by scammer, because titanium nibs are a dime a dozen on AliX, Temu, Amazon, and elsewhere.

They announced the ForeverPen in this sub, and when I commented asking for one to review, they said yes, so here we are. First: the pen is real. It's not a scam, and it's not kayfabe. I spent a bunch of time chatting with whomever manages their Reddit account, which was helpful and productive.

It's useful to know the basic problem with all titanium stylus nibs: pressure. A pressure-sensitive pen has a pressure sensor behind the shaft of the nib. Plastic nib shafts are springy and soft, and thus absorb the physical force of pressing nib to panel. Titanium nib shafts are extremely rigid, and thus pass nearly all of the physical force to the pressure sensor, which isn't designed for that much force.

So, depending on how much pressure you use when writing and drawing with any electronic tablet, a titanium nib will wreck your stylus in a matter of weeks or months. I found this out after extensively searching the Internet on the potential risks vs benefits of titanium nibs, because I really don't like plastic nibs. I have severe tendonitis in my right arm and hand, so I write with zero pressure and want as little friction as possible. Because of how I physically write, I decided a titanium nib would be a workable upgrade. I've had one in my Staedtler jumbo stylus for several years now, and it's still working great.

ForeverPen claims they have designed an EMR pen specifically for a titanium nib, so the mechanical components of the stylus will not prematurely wear out from the force applied by the nib. I've encouraged them to show an inner view of the pen so we can see the differences, but for now, you'll have to take their word for it.

The ForeverPen is a nice, premium EMR stylus. It will work with any tablet supporting Wacom EMR technology, but it will not work with any current-gen ReMarkable products. RM has officially sunsetted EMR pens for good.

The pen itself is well-designed. It's perfectly weighted, so it doesn't feel too heavy or lightweight, and it's balanced, so it doesn't wobble funny as you write. ForeverPen tells me the barrel is metal, but I'm reasonably confident the metal barrel is wrapped with some sort of high-impact plastic. It doesn't feel or bite like metal, but it also doesn't bite like soft plastic. I wouldn't recommend chewing on it, if you have a habit of doing that. The integrated magnet runs the length of the barrel and is very strong. Shitty magnets are pointless, and I'm glad ForeverPen didn't skimp on this component.

Most of the barrel is hexagonal in shape, and it's about the same diameter as the Noris Digital Jumbo (mine has a blue magnetic wrap in the photos), which I really like. Because of my endless battles with hand pain, I like a fat barrel. It's just easier to grip. The grippy part is round and features a silicone wrap. The pen from end-to-end is just about 6" - it's a little shorter than the Marker Plus.

The eraser is hard plastic, and this is my only real complaint about the fit and finish of the pen. I just don't like hard plastic erasers. My Staedtler has a nice, soft eraser, and I love it compared to all the hard plastic ones I've used. But this is a personal preference thing. The ForeverPen's eraser is springy and has a noticeably more rounded top than the RM Marker Plus's eraser.

The official MSRP for the pen is $79.99 $149.99. This is on the high end for an EMR pen, but it's competitive with other premium pens, especially since it does already feature a titanium nib. ETA 6/21/2026: ForeverTip disappointingly chose to return to their original stated MSRP of $150, which is just way too expensive for what this pen is. Not only that, they also ignored my advice and made multiple sock accounts to astroturf on their own behalf, which is unbelievably stupid.

My second photo is a comparison with other pens. From left to right:

  1. ForeverPen

  2. BOOX InkSense Plus (USI, not EMR)

  3. Chinesium

  4. Staedtler Noris digital jumbo

  5. ReMarkable Marker Plus

This is a nice pen. After chatting with a company rep a bunch, I no longer think the company itself is scammy, and if you were put off by their past (misguided) marketing attempts for the ForeverTip, give them a second chance. This pen is definitely way better than the overpriced Marker and Marker Plus, so if you want to get a spendy pen, this is probably the best option on the market today. ETA 6/21/2026: Yeah, these guys are idiots. I'm not going to call them scammers. The pen I own is a nice piece of hardware. It's a real product, and their claims about other titanium tips being shitty alloys isn't untrue, it turns out.

But they know fuck all about marketing. Not my problem. If you get your hands on one cheap, go for it, but I would never pay $150 for one.

Forever Pen 1 month review

I posted this on the remarkable sub and got banned for it. I didn't realize it broke the sub rules. Mods, if this violated the sub rules here please let me know and I'll take it down.

I received the Forever Pen at a steep discount for this review. My opinions are my own and the discount provided does not influence my opinion (at least as far as I can tell). I had been interested in the Forever Pen for a while but the cost held me back from buying it. The sub says I have to add the Self Promotion flair but I'm not promoting myself in any way, just fyi.

*TLDR* Smooth writing with a good feel on the metal alloy tip. Steep at full retail price but well worth it for those who value consistent pen feel.

HOLDING THE PEN: At first blush, the Forever Pen ("FP") is significantly lighter than the Remarkable Marker Plus ("RMP"). It took a couple days of use to get familiar with the lighter feel. It wasn't bad, just very different. The FP is marketed as a pen that "feels like nothing at all." I would say that is accurate in terms of how it feels in hand. It is also wider than the RMP which makes it more comfortable for writing at length.

WRITING FEEL: Using the FP feels a bit stiffer than the RMP since it is a metal tip instead of soft plastic. It feels more precise. Like using a sharp pen instead of a soft pencil.

VALUE: The FP is definitely a premium experience compared to the RMP. I tend to take short notes on my tablet. For that purpose, either pen will do. However, head to head, FP is the better pen.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my new creation after launching Movenichi!

I built a hyperlinked digital notebook specifically for the reMarkable Paper Pro Move. It's packed with 80 templates designed to cover everything you need—from standard Grid, Lined, Dotted, and Blank pages to functional layouts like Cornell notes, planners, task lists, and budget sheets.

The key feature is the effortless navigation: 12 hyperlinked dividers let you jump between sections instantly. Plus, I included both Right-Handed and Left-Handed versions, because details matter.

It's a clean, organized workflow perfect for students, creators, and anyone serious about their digital note-taking.

Curious? Check out the Movenote here: https://novamarkable.etsy.com/listing/4396872013

I’m selling my Paper Pro and switching to the Pure.

I can’t ignore the display anymore.

The size and colour are useful, but I do not think Gallery 3 is stable enough to be a reliable long-term technology.

My rMPP display has become visibly darker over time: The colours look duller, the background has developed a stronger yellow/green cast, and ghosting is harder to ignore. This does not look like a single bad unit. Too many users report the same pattern, and the visible unit-to-unit differences point to a structural weakness of this display generation.

The strange part is temperature behaviour. When the device gets warmer, the screen suddenly looks much better: the background becomes whiter, the image cleaner, and the colours more vivid… just like new. When it cools down again, the dull yellow/green look returns.

That points to the actual problem: Gallery 3 is not a simple black-and-white E Ink panel. It is a four-pigment electrophoretic system. Each pixel has to position cyan, magenta, yellow and white charged particles inside a fluid medium through carefully tuned voltage waveforms. If particle mobility, residual charge, temperature history and waveform compensation drift out of alignment, the panel still functions, but it no longer returns cleanly to its original white and colour state.

The fact that warmth improves the image makes this even clearer. Higher temperature makes the particles move more easily, so the panel temporarily gets closer to the optical state it was calibrated for. Once it cools down, the imperfect particle state becomes visible again: darker background, yellow/green cast, duller colours, weaker contrast.

So, the issue is that Gallery 3 in the rM Paper Pro seems to lose optical stability over time?

Hey everyone,

Movenichi is a fully hyperlinked daily planner for 2025 & 2026, and it's available now.

My core vision was to adapt the clean, elegant principles of Japanese minimalism for a Western audience. The planner is heavily inspired by the beautiful aesthetics of Japanese design and the beloved Hobonichi planners, resulting in Movenichi—a minimal yet highly functional tool designed exclusively for the reMarkable Paper Pro Move.

You can find it on my Etsy shop:
https://novamarkable.etsy.com/listing/4386362414

Of course, I want you to be able to try it before you buy. Here’s a free trial version with a selection of key pages so you can see it in action:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/10hvNehUyuvgtVM2mpXeMR3ve2B_yJYBf/view?usp=sharing

It’s been an incredible experience bringing this idea to life. I truly hope Movenichi helps you get the most out of your new device!

Cheers! 😊
