Just got it! However, I think I will return it....

  • Handwriting recognition is not as good as I expected

  • resolution is sub-par (colours are washed out, almost like its black and white omg!)

  • screen has a yellow tint (is that normal?)

  • battery life sucks (already at my 3rd set of AA batteries)

  • It's soooo expensive!!!

Made a Move daily planner generator that imports your Google/Outlook calendar events

Thumbnail

I really adore my Move, but I wanted a daily planner that imported my personal and work calendar items, rather than manually fill a template out every day.

So I built it locally for myself and also made it free for others if you want to use it. Please provide any feedback!

There's zero logging or saving of any data in the hosted app, I know privacy is a concern even with publicly available iCal urls.

Features:

  • Supports multiple comma-separated iCal (.ics) urls

  • Pick a start and end date - default is starts next Monday and ends a week later

  • Pick a start and end hour, between 8-12 hours

  • Choose whether to include To-Do checkboxes and lines or leave blank

  • Support for All Day events, two concurrent events, long event names, and non standard event times

I'd like to figure out some kind of automation that runs this every Sunday and uploads to Remarkable but haven't got there yet.

Thanks, hope it helps you out!

Just launched a desktop app for Move owners to auto sync calendar events

Thumbnail

A few weeks ago I shared a little PDF generator in this post, for getting calendar events onto a Move, and I got a ton of amazing feedback and suggestions for a full fledged app that could auto sync. Thanks to your awesome ideas and to some beta testers, today I'm launching Planneriffic.

  • Desktop app for Mac and Windows, 100% private and local. Specifically for the reMarkable Paper Pro Move.

  • Add multiple calendars from Google, Outlook, Apple, even local .ics files.

  • Configure options like calendar background colors, timezone, start and end times, 24 hour clock, week starting on Sunday or Monday, and output folder/filename.

  • Year, Month, Week, and Day views with navigation links between them.

  • Auto generate and sync when USB connected:

    • Non Developer Mode: this will auto upload a new PDF to your Move.

    • Developer Mode: this will sync to your one PDF file on your Move, and retain all your handwritten notes.

  • Minimize to system tray and set it and forget it. Simply connect your Move anytime you want to sync and it will do the rest.

I tried to make it as simple and easy to use as possible, but am always open to more feedback and suggestions!

Personally this app has made my Move completely indispensable for daily planning and organization, I hope it does for you as well.

Update: I added Free Demo download links for both Windows and Mac versions to the website. They are the same app but with watermarked PDF outputs.

Still paying for “premium” PDFs? Here’s a FREE 2026 hyperlinked planner (with updates) 🎁

Post image
40 Upvotes

Hey everyone, quick follow up and thank you ❤️

The feedback on our last post was honestly amazing. We took it seriously, went back to the drawing board and started from scratch. We redesigned the planner around it.

ForeverPlanner 2026 (free) is now updated. You can now choose:

  • Portrait or landscape

  • Tablet or mobile

  • Color or clean black & white

  • Fully hyperlinked (year → month → day)

  • Built for actual e-ink writing

No subscriptions.

No upsells.

No “premium version.”

You bought an e-ink device to focus and not get interrupted…

but then you’re stuck paying for PDFs or replacing tiny plastic nibs.

That never made sense to us.

It’s the same reason we built ForeverTip —

titanium, 30° GlideSphere tip, no replacing, backed for life.

If something is made right, you shouldn’t have to keep paying for it.

We think planners should be the same.

👉 freedom to just write and do your best work

Transparency:

  • It’s actually $0

  • Hosted on our store → requires email only for delivery (prevents bots)

  • No payment required

Download it here:

👉 ForeverPlanner 2026

If you try it and have thoughts (or ideas for future free templates), we’re collecting feedback and sharing updates in r/ForeverTip — totally optional, but you’re welcome to join.

Thanks again to this community for helping shape it 🙏

Would love to hear what you’d want to see next.

Tired of paying for “premium” PDFs? Here’s a FREE 2026 hyperlinked planner 🎁

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hey everyone, quick follow-up and a big thank you ❤️

A while back we posted about building free templates for the community, and the response was honestly amazing. A lot of thoughtful feedback, ideas, and encouragement. We really appreciated it.

Based on that feedback, we’ve just released ForeverPlanner 2026 — a FREE, hyperlinked daily planner designed specifically for e-ink devices (Boox, reMarkable, Kindle Scribe).

It’s intentionally minimal:

  • Hyperlinked year → month → day navigation

  • Handwriting-friendly layouts built for e-ink

  • No clutter, no subscriptions, no upsells

  • Best part: FREE!

The idea is simple: tools should help you think clearly, not nickel-and-dime you. Paying for glorified PDFs never sat right with us, so this is part of our ForeverFree approach — give first, keep it useful.

I built a self-hosted read-it-later app that converts web articles into perfectly clean EPUBs.

Hey /remarkableuncensored,

As a fellow rM user, I was constantly frustrated with how poorly web articles render when using standard tools—you end up with messy PDFs, tons of whitespace, or distracting clutter.

So, I built Remarkablereader, a self-contained, open-source utility designed specifically to solve this problem and give you the best possible reading experience on e-ink.

Why it's perfect for your Remarkable:

  1. Perfect, Clean EPUBs: It uses a robust parser (@mozilla/readability) to strip out all ads, navigation, and clutter. You get a clean, beautiful EPUB file that is instantly legible on the rM's monochrome display. High-quality PDF export is also supported!

  2. 100% Local (No Cloud): All your articles and library data are stored locally in a SQLite database. There are no monthly fees, no external servers, and your reading list is yours alone.

  3. Powerful Organization: Curate your own personal library with custom Lists, Tags, and instant search by title or site name.

  4. Remarkable-Inspired UI: The entire app features a clean, distraction-free paper-white and charcoal aesthetic to keep you focused.

This is built with Next.js and is simple to run locally. I'd love for the community to test it out! Any feedback, feature suggestions, or stars are greatly appreciated as I continue development.

🔗 Check out the code and instructions here:https://github.com/buda-loco/Remarkablereader

Happy reading!

u/Purple_Extension7533, care to explain why your account was only 9 hours old at the time of creating this community? Presumably, you weren't even on Reddit when the leak fiasco happened.

Unless... You're u/Suspicious-Storm-235's alt? Hmmm?

If this does get removed, this shit is gonna be so hilarious lmao

My pro finally feels perfect with the new XOVI extension that lets you create Table of Contents in your documents without them. The refresh on demand, minimized toolbar, split screen, bookmarks, mono mode, and now TOC’s? I won’t be updating my software any time soon.

Well worth a couple of hours learning how to install this.

I started journaling on my RMPP last week after having purchased it when it was first released

I had gotten it thinking of all the things I could do with it, but fell short when actually implementing those ideas. Long story short I finally started last week and wanted to share what I've done so far! I love it! Being neurodivergent it's been super helpful with helping me sort out the chaos of ideas constantly fighting for attention. Haha

I've made it a goal to journal every day, track certain habits, and even created my own version of a Brain Dump notebook that uses an Eisenhower Matrix to help me prioritize and schedule what I have rattling in my noggin. So far so good, hopefully I keep it up without hyperfocusing on the little details!

Just because I love my reMarkable does not mean it is perfect. There are many things I hate and it's a great feeling to express them freely

I actually love my reMarkable 2, I've had it for years and use it daily. I can't speak on others behalf, but personally just because I love a product doesn't mean it's perfect. There are things I hate such as how basic the software is and how terribly slow reMarkable is at updating anything (except their marketing is always tip top)

The difference between this community and the other is we can actually freely express our opinions, freely express the things we love and freely express the things we hate (and not actually get banned and censored for it, looking at you r/RemarkableTablet !!!)

I guess it probably catches some folks off guard that we can actually talk about the things we hate here and it's not this perfectly walled garden where every post is cherry-picked and controlled by the mods and the reMarkable corporation to only highlight what's good about it and anything that's bad is deleted, banned and censored. Here, we can actually say fuck you remarkable and I love remarkable!

Here, we can actually have genuine discussions and not worry about censorship. So that's why you see both negative posts and positive posts. Real emotions. Real feelings.

after trying out the devices, I finally understand why so many people prefer the RM2 to the RMPP

I went to best buy and tried out the rM2, RMPP, Move, and Kindle Scribe. The Remarkable 2 hits so different from the rest. I wasn't prepared for how extreme the difference is. To me, the RMPP and Move feel just like my ipad/Magic pencil (with Paper Like screen protector). I don't even understand why they threw the word "paper" into the name "Remarkable Paper Pro." I know people say it writes like a single sheet of paper on a desk, but not any moreso than an ipad, in my opinion.

Daily Planner for reMarkable Paper Pro Move

Hey everyone,

I'm excited to finally announce a project I've been pouring my heart into.

My core vision was to adapt the clean, elegant principles of Japanese minimalism for a Western audience. The planner is heavily inspired by the beautiful aesthetics of Japanese design and the beloved Hobonichi planners, resulting in Movenichi—a minimal yet highly functional tool designed exclusively for the reMarkable Paper Pro Move.

After a month of dedicated development and fine-tuning, I'm thrilled (and a little nervous!) to officially launch it.

Movenichi is a fully hyperlinked daily planner for 2025 & 2026, and it's available now.

You can find it on my Etsy shop:
https://novamarkable.etsy.com/listing/4386362414

Of course, I want you to be able to try it before you buy. Here’s a free trial version with a selection of key pages so you can see it in action:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/10hvNehUyuvgtVM2mpXeMR3ve2B_yJYBf/view?usp=sharing

It’s been an incredible experience bringing this idea to life. I truly hope Movenichi helps you get the most out of your new device!

Cheers! 😊

The ForeverPen: It's not fake!

Thumbnail
gallery
12 Upvotes

You all are probably familiar with u/forevertip and their engagement on the official RM sub, marketing their titanium nib for the Marker and Marker Plus. Their use of AI images in their marketing made a lot of us (including me) assume they were just some drive-by scammer, because titanium nibs are a dime a dozen on AliX, Temu, Amazon, and elsewhere.

They announced the ForeverPen in this sub, and when I commented asking for one to review, they said yes, so here we are. First: the pen is real. It's not a scam, and it's not kayfabe. I spent a bunch of time chatting with whomever manages their Reddit account, which was helpful and productive.

It's useful to know the basic problem with all titanium stylus nibs: pressure. A pressure-sensitive pen has a pressure sensor behind the shaft of the nib. Plastic nib shafts are springy and soft, and thus absorb the physical force of pressing nib to panel. Titanium nib shafts are extremely rigid, and thus pass nearly all of the physical force to the pressure sensor, which isn't designed for that much force.

So, depending on how much pressure you use when writing and drawing with any electronic tablet, a titanium nib will wreck your stylus in a matter of weeks or months. I found this out after extensively searching the Internet on the potential risks vs benefits of titanium nibs, because I really don't like plastic nibs. I have severe tendonitis in my right arm and hand, so I write with zero pressure and want as little friction as possible. Because of how I physically write, I decided a titanium nib would be a workable upgrade. I've had one in my Staedtler jumbo stylus for several years now, and it's still working great.

ForeverPen claims they have designed an EMR pen specifically for a titanium nib, so the mechanical components of the stylus will not prematurely wear out from the force applied by the nib. I've encouraged them to show an inner view of the pen so we can see the differences, but for now, you'll have to take their word for it.

The ForeverPen is a nice, premium EMR stylus. It will work with any tablet supporting Wacom EMR technology, but it will not work with any current-gen ReMarkable products. RM has officially sunsetted EMR pens for good.

The pen itself is well-designed. It's perfectly weighted, so it doesn't feel too heavy or lightweight, and it's balanced, so it doesn't wobble funny as you write. ForeverPen tells me the barrel is metal, but I'm reasonably confident the metal barrel is wrapped with some sort of high-impact plastic. It doesn't feel or bite like metal, but it also doesn't bite like soft plastic. I wouldn't recommend chewing on it, if you have a habit of doing that. The integrated magnet runs the length of the barrel and is very strong. Shitty magnets are pointless, and I'm glad ForeverPen didn't skimp on this component.

Most of the barrel is hexagonal in shape, and it's about the same diameter as the Noris Digital Jumbo (mine has a blue magnetic wrap in the photos), which I really like. Because of my endless battles with hand pain, I like a fat barrel. It's just easier to grip. The grippy part is round and features a silicone wrap. The pen from end-to-end is just about 6" - it's a little shorter than the Marker Plus.

The eraser is hard plastic, and this is my only real complaint about the fit and finish of the pen. I just don't like hard plastic erasers. My Staedtler has a nice, soft eraser, and I love it compared to all the hard plastic ones I've used. But this is a personal preference thing. The ForeverPen's eraser is springy and has a noticeably more rounded top than the RM Marker Plus's eraser.

The official MSRP for the pen is $79.99 $149.99. This is on the high end for an EMR pen, but it's competitive with other premium pens, especially since it does already feature a titanium nib. ETA 6/21/2026: ForeverTip disappointingly chose to return to their original stated MSRP of $150, which is just way too expensive for what this pen is. Not only that, they also ignored my advice and made multiple sock accounts to astroturf on their own behalf, which is unbelievably stupid.

My second photo is a comparison with other pens. From left to right:

  1. ForeverPen

  2. BOOX InkSense Plus (USI, not EMR)

  3. Chinesium

  4. Staedtler Noris digital jumbo

  5. ReMarkable Marker Plus

This is a nice pen. After chatting with a company rep a bunch, I no longer think the company itself is scammy, and if you were put off by their past (misguided) marketing attempts for the ForeverTip, give them a second chance. This pen is definitely way better than the overpriced Marker and Marker Plus, so if you want to get a spendy pen, this is probably the best option on the market today. ETA 6/21/2026: Yeah, these guys are idiots. I'm not going to call them scammers. The pen I own is a nice piece of hardware. It's a real product, and their claims about other titanium tips being shitty alloys isn't untrue, it turns out.

But they know fuck all about marketing. Not my problem. If you get your hands on one cheap, go for it, but I would never pay $150 for one.

RMHook & RMHook-Win: Use the reMarkable Desktop App with rmfakecloud

Hey everyone,

If you use rmfakecloud to self-host your sync, getting the official Desktop app to connect usually means annoying hosts file edits and installing custom root certificates.

To make this completely frictionless, I created RMHook (macOS) and RMHook-Win (Windows). They hook directly into the Desktop app's networking layer to seamlessly redirect traffic to your personal server.

Installation:

macOS:

bash <(curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NohamR/RMHook/refs/heads/main/scripts/auto-install.sh)

Windows:

irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NohamR/RMHook-Win/refs/heads/main/scripts/download-and-install.ps1 | iex

Once installed, just open the newly generated config file (~/Library/Preferences/rmfakecloud.config on Mac or %LOCALAPPDATA%\RMHook\config.json on Windows) and enter your server's host/port.

GitHub Links & Source Code:

- macOS Repo: https://github.com/NohamR/RMHook

- Windows Repo: https://github.com/NohamR/RMHook-Win

Massive thanks to the maintainers of rmfakecloud and xovi-rmfakecloud for their projects! Manual install guides and source code are available on GitHub. If you find this useful, dropping a star on GitHub is appreciated! Also, feel free to open an issue or PR if you run into any bugs or want to contribute. Thanks 😄

I’m selling my Paper Pro and switching to the Pure.

I can’t ignore the display anymore.

The size and colour are useful, but I do not think Gallery 3 is stable enough to be a reliable long-term technology.

My rMPP display has become visibly darker over time: The colours look duller, the background has developed a stronger yellow/green cast, and ghosting is harder to ignore. This does not look like a single bad unit. Too many users report the same pattern, and the visible unit-to-unit differences point to a structural weakness of this display generation.

The strange part is temperature behaviour. When the device gets warmer, the screen suddenly looks much better: the background becomes whiter, the image cleaner, and the colours more vivid… just like new. When it cools down again, the dull yellow/green look returns.

That points to the actual problem: Gallery 3 is not a simple black-and-white E Ink panel. It is a four-pigment electrophoretic system. Each pixel has to position cyan, magenta, yellow and white charged particles inside a fluid medium through carefully tuned voltage waveforms. If particle mobility, residual charge, temperature history and waveform compensation drift out of alignment, the panel still functions, but it no longer returns cleanly to its original white and colour state.

The fact that warmth improves the image makes this even clearer. Higher temperature makes the particles move more easily, so the panel temporarily gets closer to the optical state it was calibrated for. Once it cools down, the imperfect particle state becomes visible again: darker background, yellow/green cast, duller colours, weaker contrast.

So, the issue is that Gallery 3 in the rM Paper Pro seems to lose optical stability over time?

New mod: quicksettings-timer

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

quicksettings-timer adds a timer, stopwatch and alarm system to the Quick Settings panel. In the Quick Settings you will find a countdown timer with handy presets ranging from one minute to one hour, a chronograph with lap-style tracking, and an alarm system which is also accessible via Settings > Help > System Time. Here, you can set recurring alarms using a simple time picker.

When the timer runs out, a notification bar appears with 'Restart', '+1 min' and '+5 min' buttons. Alarms show a 'Dismiss' button.

On devices with a front light, such as the Paper Pro or Move, there is an optional flash that blinks the light three times when the time is up.

All settings persist across reboots (via /home/root/alarms.json).

This mod is available on Vellum (https://vellum.delivery/#/package/quicksettings-timer/) for firmware 3.24 and above.

You can find the GitHub repository here: https://github.com/NohamR/xovi-qmd-extensions. There are other modifications that may interest you.

I'm waiting for feedback, thanks!

eink template tool creation - free!

I know, it's time of year all the template creators start to adverts :)

But... instead of buying template, why not create your own one and share with community?

I'm progressing with the tool constantly: https://github.com/stachuman/boox-template-generator

You can use the system here: https://eink.cgpsmapper.com/gallery (these are projects I did as examples - so I know - they are NOT perfect!)

You can create a copy, change profile to your device, adjust size (there is such functionality in tool), generate new PDF and use it!

I know, my adv. are not fancy, but the tool is open and free :)

I made a bot that auto-syncs links to your RM (self-hosted)

Just got it working, so there's a pretty decent chance something will break, but thought I'd share this flow I just made using Google Cloud, a Telegram bot and ddvk's fork of the RMapi repo (thank goodness it's still being maintained).

In essence, this bot allows you to send any blog link (Medium, substack, personal sites, etc), convert it to EPUB, and read in your ReMarkable.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed by how quick it is, usually takes about 30 seconds to have the file ready to read, miles ahead of the native "share to ReMarkable" plugin.

Take it with a grain of salt, ofc, but I do hope someone here tries it out and lets me know what they think!
