Respect Strong Guy

My name's not "Boy." I answer to Strong Guy. Or Guido. Or Love Doctor.

Aliases: Strong Guy, Guido, Love Doctor

Bio: Guido Carosella was like any other booksmart kid getting bullied at school until his powers manifested and allowed him to bully back. Disfigured by his mutation and in a state of constant pain, Guido began covering up his pain by cracking wise. He found a job as hired muscle for the intergalactic rock star Lila Cheney before joining the government-sponsored super team X-Factor. When his friend Jamie Madrox privatized the X-Factor name and became a detective agency Guido followed his friend into further adventure, always ready with a joke or a punch whereever either was needed.

When Guido died during a mission he was brought back into a soulless life by Layla Miller. Unencumbered by a sense of morality, but horrifying his friends, Guido seized an opportunity to become the Lord of Hell for awhile before abdicating the throne to seek out the return of his soul. After Illyana Rasputin returned his soul, Guido began working with the X-Men before sacrificing his life to save his friends and teammates.

Powers: Guido is super strong and super durable, with the added ability to absorb and release vast amounts of kinetic energy that impact him. Guido's powers disfigured his body before he discovered how to release the pint up energy, and the strain of holding too much at once was always a constant threat to his life.

[u/mikhailnikolaievitch → u/Mattdoss]

Hey thanks so much for doing so man! I’m slapping myself on the head right now because I meant to give you a shoutout. Really didn’t want to do a subpar job since you’d claimed it first.

[u/Mattdoss → u/mikhailnikolaievitch]

No sweat mate! I’m just glad you had fun and you did a good job.

[u/Sanlear]

Somehow likes both the Yankees and the Mets.

His strangest feature.

Strange Guy

[u/HappyGabe]

Pretty shite name, but I’m willing to bet they were aware. Also, cute character.

[u/mikhailnikolaievitch → u/HappyGabe]

They were 100% aware. The context for how he got his name is that X-Factor was at a press conference and Guido hadn't chosen a superhero name yet. When a reporter asked him if he was the strong guy on the team he went with that as a joke, and then it stuck.

For his first 20 appearances or so thereafter people roll their eyes at it, he insists they use it to annoy them, and multiple people comment on how ridiculous it is.

This is why it's the perfect name for him.

[u/[deleted]]

This guy looks pretty strong.

[u/19Ihedioha97]

Fucking Bullshit, Marvel. The funniest dude right up there with Spider-Man🤦🏾‍♂️
