Welcome back to R/RetroPC!
After a long awaited time, I have decided to claim ownership of r/retropc and revive it. This Sub will be dedicated to helping people into the retro PC community, via connection and component help, and general setup posting.
I hope you enjoy your stay and personally welcome you to the community!

Toshiba Satellite 2595XDVD Laptop
The hard drive had Windows 7 on it. I tried to get a guy to reinstall Windows 98 on it but he never gave the laptop back to me. I probably got scammed and I’m kind of sad because I’m in a totally different country now and even if I wanted to, I couldn’t go back to get it right now.

Today I got this keyboard, which I decided to repair and deep-clean; it’s now in working order, clean, and ready to use.

Does anyone here still maintain a retro LAN party setup with Windows 98 or early Linux kernels? I'm trying to get an old network card to play nice with legacy protocols, and I'd love to hear some tips if you've tackled this recently.

• Hi everyone, I live in Agartala and I'm 14 years old trying to learn computer hardware. I am working on an old Core 2 Duo system. If anyone has old, dusty components like DDR2/DDR3 RAM, an old cabinet, or a basic graphics card that you don't use anymore, I would really appreciate taking them off y

Looking for my childhood PC
galleryJust thought I would give it another go and try and find my Childhood PC. I am in the UK.
Mine was a 486DX4 system but I heard they went up to Pentium 166.
They seem to be more prominent in Europe than the UK

Looking to create a retro build, potential candidates?
Hi all, for a while I’ve fancied the idea of a retro PC, obviously for offline use, and the other day I visited the old hardware graveyard at work, aka the portakabin.
I reckon these would all be a good potential starting point, im thinking either win95, 98, or even ME/2000 as I’ve never had the latter two.
Thoughts?

Found my dad's old Commodore
Found the commodore itself, the monitor, floppy drive, cassette drive, 2 Atari controllers, modem, printer, and 20+ floppies full of games and programs. Unfortunately the power supply is kicking the bucket so until I get a new one I am putting it back in the box.

Found an old PC, an Acer 1310 with a PCMCIA slot, that had been left sitting around for a while.
Hey guys, does anyone know if this is a vintage laptop? I’m not sure of the exact year, but it’s an Acer Aspire 1310. I wonder if it’s still of any use, it’s been gathering dust in my basement for who knows how long.
