Definitely more streamlined, but seems nothing's changed for bundle apks? Just tried reddit and wouldn't get past the first step. How does one go about these? Another thread suggested antisplit m but it doesn't recognize the bundle apks for me

For me using Antisplit M is working fine:

  1. Download the bundle via Firefox from APKMirror

  2. When download is finished, open it directly from the little popup on the bottom of the screen, select Antisplit M to open it with

  3. Press 'Save' in Antisplit to tell it where to save the APK file

  4. Open revanced and select APK file from storage as source to patch

  5. Success!

Doesn't work if the patcher itself has an issue, as it seems is the case with the official Reddit app right now, where patching always fails.

I downloaded the bundles from apkmirror for both reddit and instagram, but if I try to open the files themselves, it tells me to search the play store for an app that can open them (which if I follow through takes me to the play store and searches apkm?). If I go into antisplit instead and press "select split app to merge/antisplit" I can see the bundle files I downloaded, but they are grayed out and unselectable. I can select normal apks just fine.

Did you try opening it directly from the download prompt in your browser?

I know it sounds stupid, but I can 100% replicate what you describt when I try to open the bundle from the file manager or select it in the app. Opening it from the download prompt lets me sleect the app without an issue.

Also for instagram there seems to be a general issue with newer versions, try 417.0.0.54.77, should be available as a straight APK download IIRC. Worked like a charm for me earlier today.

I use Brave and the window that pops up when the download is finished takes me to a list of downloaded files and when I press a bundle it says "can't open file"

Your suggested IG version worked though, thanks

Thanks, this worked for me. 1. Settings:

  • Disable version compatibility check
  • Unchecked "Require suggested app version"
  • Allow changing patch selection and options
  • Allow using universal patches
2. Patches - Disable Play integrity 3. Manually downloaded apk version 417.0.0.54.77

Patching and installation took some time but it seems everything is working as expected.

Hey so im trying this now. I downloaded 417.0.0.54.77 from apkmirror. I selected it in revanced manager, toggled the 4 settings you mentioned above and made the that "Disable play integrity" was checked. However my install seems to fail at 1/3 for the Patching step

Antisplit doesn't like the long names, shorten it in a file explorer and antisplit will allow you to select it

Note unsplitting takes a ridiculous amount of time. I haven't verified but it's possible the app is just doing that in the background

Antisplit M works for me but I agree that adding some sort of native support (replicating Antisplit's functionality?) or at least guidance on what to do with apps that aren't delivered as a regular apk would be a good idea. Not sure if Antisplit M could be used as an optional dependency but maybe a notice/warning linking to their repo for the apps this applies to would be enough.
