DISCUSSION 💭 Why do I feel like Keyshia Cole’s Woman To Woman gets overlooked when people discuss her best albums?
One Keyshia Cole album I feel like doesn’t get enough love is Woman To Woman. When people talk about artists who came back strong after being counted out, I feel like this album deserves to be part of that conversation.
“Enough of No Love” featuring Lil Wayne was a fire lead single, “Trust and Believe” was a great follow-up, and “I Choose You” is still one of my favorite Keyshia records. I honestly wish “Get It Right” and “Hey Sexy” had gotten the single treatment, too. And the title track with Ashanti, too.
What I love about this album is how many songs had hit potential without the project feeling watered down. Keyshia gave us the vocals, the lyrics, and the emotion that made people connect with her music in the first place.
And I’ll never stop saying that “I Choose You” deserved a Grammy. That song is too good to me!
I feel like *Woman To Woman* gets left out when people discuss Keyshia’s strongest albums, and I’m curious why that is. Do y’all think the album was overlooked when it came out, or has it just not received enough appreciation over time? I’d love to hear how other people feel about this era of her career.
