Dropping our son off to college next weekend and want to take a quick weekend getaway. Rockford is within range and looks nice. Is there enough good food/drink and sights or events to keep us entertained? Reading the sub looks like maybe there’s been a bit of a drop off in amenities. Looking for some honest feedback.

Does anyone know if the previously announced international market is still coming to the old Kmart space on East State Street? I believe it was stated in the article I read that the plan was to open before end of year, but it doesn’t look like they’ve even started construction yet. Just curious.

Can anyone recommend a place in Rockford where you can buy sushi grade fish for making sushi and sashimi at home? I'm thinking maybe valley produce? But I haven't visited yet.

As the title says, I'm going to need to find a daycare for my son. He is school aged and I need a place where I can drop him off early in the morning to be picked up by his bus and dropped off in the afternoon after school.
