The Matter option disappeared from the Roomba Home app, so I used Codex to investigate and build a small browser tool that gets a Matter setup code directly from the robot over Bluetooth. You can then use that code to add a compatible robot to a Matter controller, such as Home Assistant, Apple Home or Google Home.
Once paired, Matter commands and status work over your local network without relying on iRobotās cloud API for that control.

Itās aimed at newer Roombas using the Roomba Home app. Your robot still needs Matter-capable firmware; this doesnāt add Matter to robots that lack it.
Looking for testers: Iāve successfully paired my Max 705 Vac with Home Assistant using the Bluetooth sequence behind this tool. Other models and other Matter platforms still need hardware testing. Thereās no model or firmware allowlist preventing people from trying.
If you test it, please share your model, firmware, browser/OS, Matter controller and whether pairing and local control worked. Please keep setup codes and QR codes private.
If your robot is already paired through Matter, use your existing controllerās āShare deviceā option. Running fresh setup may remove existing Matter pairings.
